This is genuinely one of my favorite channels on UA-cam. You delve deep into the lore with such elegance, and your voice is so soothing!!!! Thank you for such amazing content!!!
I have never played the RE games since I an not a fan on horror, but always loved to see what the story holds. This channel is amazing for that. Thanks so much!
Honestly village isn’t scary at all, 7 might be a bit harder for you if you aren’t a fan of horror. If you get the chance I reccomend giving it a shot!
I don't think Miranda is gone for good. She herself said about Ethan that "in this stratum even he can manifest", meaning that Miranda, Ethan, Eveline etc. were manifestations of their respective consciousness, "avatars", if you will. Miranda might reapear in the realm of Megamycete after her second defeat by the hand of Rose's (since only her "avatar" was defeated) infinitely, but without the crystal and with Rose "too powerful to subdue directly", her plans are doomed anyway.
Well - it's established the Realm of Consciousness if a product of the mod. So, it's logical to say that, nless the mold itself is destroyed entirely, it will remain. But - of course - we may see a weakened version of Miranda - or maybe her "recent" ones are destroyed to the point only the 1919 one remains. Now that I've written it - it could be a nice plot. Imagine you play a Resident Evil "vintage" being haunted until you realize you're the 1919 Miranda fighting her more recent selfs.
I wonder if the Masked Duke is closer to what he could have been if he was an antagonist/a Lord in the main game. In keeping with classic movie references with the other Lords, the Masked Duke could be associated with The Blob (if one is going for the movie reference and weird biological goop) or an ogre, considering the mention of a consuming hunger in his note.
Yes, it was quite a 180 from Rose talking about how she knew nothing about her father to how she acted at the end, but that face to face seemed to clear a lot of things up for her. I lost a parent pretty early on, but I can't imagine what not knowing them at all must feel like. I guess that single genuine connection where she realized he had still been protecting her in his own way was enough for her to move on. Trauma is a strange thing. On a separate note, Rose looks so much like my 16 year old girlfriend it's uncanny. Big fucking ears and all. 😂
I couldn't imagine how my kids would deal if something happened to me. Hell even my oldest daughters who are going to be teenagers soon, like to act lke they are grown but still sometimes just want dad to hug them.
I wasn't a fan of Ethan, but after this I really like him so much now. Also: can I just say right now that this DLC has some serious Evil Within vibes? 💜
@@grimlord3181 Yeah I feel like the only one who is just glad that the Winters storyline is over because I really wanna see what the fuck is going on with the BSAA and what Chris' squad is up to. That's more interesting to me because it's going to be huge.
Let’s be real. it was known instantly that it’s Ethan, but still, having Ethan’s love push him to create a body to save his girl Edit: also Ethan’s letter makes me scream in tears everytime 😭 Edit 2: the goodbye with Ethan breaks me too, just a whole DLC of crying
There’s something I don’t quite get. If the “Miranda” from VILLAGE is dead and this “Miranda” is from the records of the Megamycete, then how did “R. Miranda” (Record Miranda) create a illusion of K to speak to Rose outside of the records?
@@william3791 to add on, re7 had files stating that mold infection causes hallucinations, at the end of the dlc when it was revealed I wasn’t real and was just Miranda that’s why rose was just staring at air. The very first line she heard as one of the kids voices from her past when she enters the mutamycete and was diving into it for the first time was “rose is crazy, it’s like she see’s things that aren’t even there”
The mutamycete is like a psychic connection. Miranda was recorded in the megamycete, as well as everyone else who contacted it. Those with high enough attunement retained their memories and faculties inside the megamycete records. Because of Rose's attunement, this basically meant that a sufficiently powerful entity inside the megamycete (like Miranda or Evelyn) could communicate with Rose.
i knew Michael was Ethan and damn that weepy father daughter moment had me bawling so much .. i’m glad at least Rose able to meet with her father even for short while .. 😭😭
I never nderstand this story trope in which the characters go "I hate these powers and they're a curse" even though it make sense them more powerful and with no real bad side effect.
Well Rose had physical issues with the white fluid she secreted as well as the fungal veins that go throughout her body, so it wasn't as simple as "I am a perfectly normal person, except I have secret powers".
There are always side effects and considering Rose's age what she feels is very realistic. I myself have what is called high pain tolerance and due to my ability to shrug off diseases and illnesses that would normally debilitate others, I've been called insensitive and ignorant because I'd not react emotionally enough at others' pain knowing that this is something they will 100% recover from. Over the years I've grown aware and sensitive of these things but if I was 16/17 I'd have very much felt the pressure of being different much like Rose does.
@@grimlord3181 It's not normal? They make it pretty clear other kids quickly picked up on the fact she secretes a gross white goop instead of sweat and started torturing her over it Most kids just want to fit in and be liked, and most aren't going to enjoy something that makes them standout and be outcasted, like secreting white goop and having disgusting bulged veins all over your body This conversation doesn't even matter anyway, the end of the DLC(and end of the main game) is her starting to accept what she is and not view it as a curse anymore
Everyone else? None of the main cast in RE have an ending currently and are still being put through the ringer. Chris doesn't get a happy ending considering he's still cleaning up messes.
Man I almost don't care about the whole RE bioweapon business and other villain's plot now, I just want to see a happy ending for Ethan's family I swear. I can't keep crying for this man, dawg, it's been 5 years.
I'm half expecting Ethan to actually return in real life. Hell crazier shit has happened in RE. Also side note I cannot wait for Wesker and Ada in RE 4
I teared up because my daughter is due in a month and seeing the lengths Ethan will go to protect his own daughter is positively inspiring. Chadthan Winters through and through.
Has anyone touched on what happened with Zoe? I got the impression from the correspondence at the beginning of RE8 that Zoe was on her way to find the Winters family. But then we see or hear nothing more about her. I want to say I doubt they'd just write her off and never mention her again, but never know these days.
Very late to this party, but man they should have shown Ethans face when he was talking to Rose while dying. That would have made everything SO much more impactful, and was the absolute perfect opportunity!
I don’t play games… literally cannot work my way around a stupid controller. But I love watching the gameplays and these explanation videos. What a story. 🥺
at this point i kinda wanna see a game with the Re super powered kids because all of the legacy characters have some type of enhancements due to their parents sherry's injected her with the g virus ,weskers son has his dads abilities, and now mia
Something tells me that's next, It makes the most sense honestly, the only thing missing is the next "Big Bad" that they face for 10 games, 5 movies, 3 side stories ect, lol
who need power if you have leon, biten by a zombie shark, zombie alligator, plane crash, bus crash, fallen from an elevator, thrown out of rolling humvee, fall into a mine tunnel, punched by a tyrant that can lift a tank, sent to save a president daughter in hostile area with only 9mm. and no notable permanent injuries whatsoever
With Ethan still existing the mycete stratum I think it's possible Rose brought his consciousness out into a new mold body which is why we see him at the end.
It's funny that I had a theory that the "glowing texts" was Ethan like a some sort of a ghost like Booker was in Burial at sea Episode 2 then Capcom first announced the rose DLC but after playing the DLC I might have found a major plothole: Rose used her powers to get into the realm of consciousness. If she did got rid of her powers, how would she get out of the realm? Would she just be kicked out of the realm and get to the real world? Could Miranda (and possible Eva) just get out?
Duddee.. I was just about to comment on your newest video to do a video on this... But dammnnn booii your work grind is unstoppable.. It's actually inspiring! Keep up man!
we can all agree. ethan is the best dad possibly in all of history. even after death. still sacrificing himself for the happiness and safety of his family. I also hope this illustrated the importance of fathers in a child's life. in a time where they are actively being pushed out.
So to the best of my knowledge shadow of Roses is the last planed sight of Rose aka no more games, which is a massive shame as I quite like her and there is quite a lot of room for her story to grow along with her powers, it would probably have to be a side game or a spin off as her level of power would be like letting us play as Wesker aka all the lesser BOWs lose their bite as in they can’t bite you heck they can’t even touch you, you would need to populate the whole game with mr X or Nemesis just to give the player a bit of a workout. Maybe they could have a game where it’s not survival horror (unless you happen to work at the place we’re been sent to to clear out) but it’s Rose been sent in to a BOW lab to clear out the place before Chris and his team come in to mop up, I mean that’s kinda how Devil May cry started out only only this time it would be kept in the setting.
To be honest, that does make a bit of sense; I could see Rose being used akin to special forces or shock troopers: Someone that can deal a massive amount of damage to the enemy so as to make them more vulnerable to attacks by infantry, or someone who gets assigned to jobs that are far more complex and small scale than your typical military maneuvers.
i was waiting for this from your channel and im gladdd i havent looked at the gameplay nor explanation of other channel, i only want to listen from you harry! 😅😅
There's quite interesting and "dark" theory about Eveline. In shorts, she was created using part of Mia's cells (ovarium) in some way. So when Eveline said that she "come first" or "it's all because of you" etc she's jealous in more deep manner. Also this gonna make sense why Eveline was so attached with Mia even rarely hurt her as she did to others.
Eventually I hope resident evil tries the open world theme with each character endings I would like it to be a huge game though, it can reboot the old resident evil slow puzzle strategy play style I always loved with alot of cinematics
I know people have problems with Ethan, but I personally love him as a character, the ending of village actually had emotional, and everything to do with him in the DLC just had me tearing up at points

That Mia Doll that goes after you as you look away from it was the second creepiest thing inside House Beneviento. Movement and sound was a chefs kiss and i frikin shat myself👀
I loved this DLC so much. I cried hard because I had missed Ethan so much.
Yeah, me too 😢😢
Cool explaining about the Shadow of Rose. The Best Part of the DLC is Rose finally meets her Father.
They didn't even bother by giving us an Ethan Face Reveal
@@G1ggl3z is there a reason why?
The worst part of the DLC is replaying the same old ending without any changes to reveal all anyone ever wanted to know. Who walked up to the car? And what happened? I mean, just fucking tell us. It offered no real new information. It's infuriating.
I wonder what kind of school that was where her powers were just known about by all the students and they bullied her for it. Also I have to say, the amount of effort they went to to hide Ethan's face in this dlc is so ridiculous, it's almost slapstick.
They don't actually know she has powers. They only see the mold's brief and physical manifestation on her skin, which is why the bullied her.
@@justincholos.balisang6884 maybe not the students but the school itself might have know she might be dangerous which is why chris would have to reassure them she was not.
@@MiKEY_TARANTiNO well if they knew, it's still kinda stupid to bully the girl that has literal superpowers and can finish their entire existence in one blink of an eye.

Man I can't play horor game, it's scare me too much but I like watching story or playthrough
@@theflashgordon193 same
Honestly village isn’t scary at all, 7 might be a bit harder for you if you aren’t a fan of horror.
You think Miranda could come back? That would be a shame.
I also wonder if he’s based on some sort of gothic villain/creature that hunts humans.
Ethan out here cutting onions with how many times he's made me cry fr ;-; second favorite RE character of all time
I'm a sucker for familial scenes. I was tearing up whenever rose and Ethan talked in that section of the video
This was incredible! Thank you so much for making it!
Harry it’s great to see you being sponsored! Always make great quality summaries and deep dives on games. Glad it’s being recognized 😎
I thought the same thing!
Meh. My opinion of him was only slightly improved.
@@grimlord3181 Yeah I feel like the only one who is just glad that the Winters storyline is over because I really wanna see what the fuck is going on with the BSAA and what Chris' squad is up to. That's more interesting to me because it's going to be huge.
@@grimlord3181 I dunno, I liked it anyway. Though a better father and daughter story was probably The Evil Within 2 by far.
@@NoxMonstrum Same! Wtf is going on is what I wanna know too
Let’s be real. it was known instantly that it’s Ethan, but still, having Ethan’s love push him to create a body to save his girl
Edit: also Ethan’s letter makes me scream in tears everytime 😭
Edit 2: the goodbye with Ethan breaks me too, just a whole DLC of crying
I wouldn't expect this DLC to be this emotional
There’s something I don’t quite get. If the “Miranda” from VILLAGE is dead and this “Miranda” is from the records of the Megamycete, then how did “R. Miranda” (Record Miranda) create a illusion of K to speak to Rose outside of the records?
Loop hole
because rose are part mold that have connection to the megamycete i guess, so she still can make an ilusion in her mind. probably
Did anyone else laugh a little bit when Miranda called Ethan a pest? That man really is like a roach. 😂
Still my favorite, though. ❤️
Dude what a hefty video to make so soon after the DLC drop, you were on top of this!!!
The “twist” of Ethan being Michael was so obvious it was like the first thing I thought.
It's not supposed to be a twist, obviously everyone is thinking about Ethan anyway because the DLC has his daughter in it.
I don't think it was ever intended to be a twist. It was just a reveal for rose, not for us.
they use 'Michael' to show that he is saviour and angel for his daughter. its never a twist for us.
i knew Michael was Ethan and damn that weepy father daughter moment had me bawling so much .. i’m glad at least Rose able to meet with her father even for short while ..
Neither do I. I mean, I can get behind it if there's more to it like with the Hulk.
@@defro125 So she secretes a white fluid, so what?
@@grimlord3181
It's not normal? They make it pretty clear other kids quickly picked up on the fact she secretes a gross white goop instead of sweat and started torturing her over it
Most kids just want to fit in and be liked, and most aren't going to enjoy something that makes them standout and be outcasted, like secreting white goop and having disgusting bulged veins all over your body
This conversation doesn't even matter anyway, the end of the DLC(and end of the main game) is her starting to accept what she is and not view it as a curse anymore
I hate how we have to leave this family, they deserve a happy ending like everyone else
Life doesn't give happy endings they are the rarity.
@@cult_of_odin yeah but stoll
Everyone else? None of the main cast in RE have an ending currently and are still being put through the ringer. Chris doesn't get a happy ending considering he's still cleaning up messes.
@@NoxMonstrum let me rephrase, all of em get happy endings to their adventures even if they have more adventures, this family doesnt
I'm in tears watching rose and Ethan reuniting, even if it's just for a few moments
After finishing the shadow of rose DLC this was refreshing to watch and recap on ^^ Thanks for this
This DLC alone feels a lot more satisfying than Re3 remake
Man I almost don't care about the whole RE bioweapon business and other villain's plot now, I just want to see a happy ending for Ethan's family I swear. I can't keep crying for this man, dawg, it's been 5 years.
keep 'em coming man, your channel is awesome
I'm half expecting Ethan to actually return in real life. Hell crazier shit has happened in RE. Also side note I cannot wait for Wesker and Ada in RE 4
man I really teared up when ethan showed up. I don't know why his character has such a effect on me lol
I teared up because my daughter is due in a month and seeing the lengths Ethan will go to protect his own daughter is positively inspiring. Chadthan Winters through and through.
Perfect balance of a heart-wrenching story and horror
I was waiting for this one, thanks Harry
I’m always impressed how quickly your turnaround
Has anyone touched on what happened with Zoe? I got the impression from the correspondence at the beginning of RE8 that Zoe was on her way to find the Winters family. But then we see or hear nothing more about her. I want to say I doubt they'd just write her off and never mention her again, but never know these days.
Zoe became a journalist. You can find the baker report in re wiki
That letter from Ethan has me weeping 😭😭
Very late to this party, but man they should have shown Ethans face when he was talking to Rose while dying. That would have made everything SO much more impactful, and was the absolute perfect opportunity!
Love the game's continued commitment to never showing Ethan's face 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
"Rose runs outside"
Video showing rose leisurely jogging.
I haven't played this game but this video left me A WRECK😭😭 poor rose and poor Ethan 😭
I mean if Chris can punch bolders then I'm pretty sure there's some inhumane powers at work. Or drug idk
Chris and jills children will be op as hell tho if they ever had some
who need power if you have leon, biten by a zombie shark, zombie alligator, plane crash, bus crash, fallen from an elevator, thrown out of rolling humvee, fall into a mine tunnel, punched by a tyrant that can lift a tank, sent to save a president daughter in hostile area with only 9mm. and no notable permanent injuries whatsoever
With Ethan still existing the mycete stratum I think it's possible Rose brought his consciousness out into a new mold body which is why we see him at the end.
I feel like Ethan really got it the worst but despite everything all he wants to do is be there for Rosa and Mia.
“I love you too, dad”. Simple words that would make any man cry 😞
It's funny that I had a theory that the "glowing texts" was Ethan like a some sort of a ghost like Booker was in Burial at sea Episode 2 then Capcom first announced the rose DLC but after playing the DLC I might have found a major plothole:
Rose used her powers to get into the realm of consciousness. If she did got rid of her powers, how would she get out of the realm? Would she just be kicked out of the realm and get to the real world? Could Miranda (and possible Eva) just get out?
Ethan said he had found a way out. A way for her to ‘wake up’ I’d assume
This story is a kick in the chest!!
Duddee.. I was just about to comment on your newest video to do a video on this... But dammnnn booii your work grind is unstoppable.. It's actually inspiring! Keep up man!
Very great commentary and easy to follow explanation for the game. Thank you.
I cried several times to this DLC
Me too
I love how I still love Ethan story even the dlc how convoluted it may be
somehow with the mold he got revived by the duke or somebody else the guy walking next to rose jeep is ethan
we can all agree. ethan is the best dad possibly in all of history. even after death. still sacrificing himself for the happiness and safety of his family. I also hope this illustrated the importance of fathers in a child's life. in a time where they are actively being pushed out.
Ethan is the most kind caring father character throughout the RE series
I was honestly glad this Duke was just a duplicate of the consiousness and memory of the fungus and not the real one bc he was a cool aide character
Me: Ugh I dont want to watch another cutscenes movie, but I'm interested in this plot
Gaming Harry: I got you fam
i was waiting for this from your channel and im gladdd i havent looked at the gameplay nor explanation of other channel, i only want to listen from you harry! 😅😅
This was great, your very good at describing the story
There's quite interesting and "dark" theory about Eveline. In shorts, she was created using part of Mia's cells (ovarium) in some way. So when Eveline said that she "come first" or "it's all because of you" etc she's jealous in more deep manner. Also this gonna make sense why Eveline was so attached with Mia even rarely hurt her as she did to others.
i chuckled alittle bit hearing chris redfield had to go to the school and tell them shes not sick..
Michael/Ethan honestly made me ugly sob as much as finding out Ethan was always dead and then again when he died for real. Ethan is the real MVP
Does anyone else ugly cry when Rose looks at the letter and talks to Ethan at the end? 😭
Eventually I hope resident evil tries the open world theme with each character endings I would like it to be a huge game though, it can reboot the old resident evil slow puzzle strategy play style I always loved with alot of cinematics
Fantastic watch as always 👊🏿
Awesome, been waiting for this one, thx a lot
The only thing I was saying the entire time fighting Miranda have been, "GET OVER IT ALREADY"
Thank you so much for using resi 4 music at the start
Ethan’s figure throughout the rest of this video reminds me of Paul Walker.
I know people have problems with Ethan, but I personally love him as a character, the ending of village actually had emotional, and everything to do with him in the DLC just had me tearing up at points
The devs perfectly covering Ethan's face in every scene
Without even playing this game I knew the person helping her was her father Ethan.
Awesome, thank you for the upload!
Thank you! I've been waiting for this 😊
This scene look @25:15 remind me of naruto and minato scene in naruto shippuden the war arc
I hope in re9 I play as mia winters because re8 says the fathers story is done and shadows of rose dlc was the end of rosemary story but what about her mother mia we haven't seen her anywhere only a photo of her and when rose says she hasn't seen her in ages 🤔 sounds strange we know mia is alive because we didn't see her gravestone just ethan so mia is still alive I hope we get to play as her she is a really cool and interesting character.
Ethan is my favorite protagonist in these games. Others just fell into the game and have to survive. He is a badass who chases the monsters to ger back his kid or his wife.
Ethan winter be making me cry

That really left me to tears on years on to it's release and ended me over the edge
I would like to point out that Chris is becoming the badass wesker always wanted to be.
