Yeah the gum chewing is likely a display of anxiety he is feeling being there. He is likely remembering how he was treated. He didn’t expect to remember, but the ambivalence is a cover for what he is feeling. Look how enthusiastic he was when he first walked in. Then he started to remember. Then he wanted to leave. Not what they were expecting, but interesting nonetheless.
It's astonishing how emotionless he is about his previous life you know.. . Roaming through the rooms of his childhood and not feeling much. Either he's a great actor and holds his emotions in cause of the film crew, or as soon as the interview is over, he weeps a bit on his way back to the LA mansion. Missing his family and all those memories that were the the basis of what would he create and become. If I were him, I just couldn't hold it in.
it looks smaller because he was a kid and it was a long time ago. probably also it was more cramped with furniture, empty walls and floor can make a place look smaller
I admire this interviewer for trying to squeeze something else out of him but it’s Larry David, he has never made a secret of the fact that he is lacking emotionally...it’s refreshing that he isn’t coming out with sentimental diatribe to impress
People have always said that Larry is playing himself on Curb, even his co-stars, and he always denies it, if what happened at 8:11 was improvised then he’s a genius, but if that exchange was genuine, then yea, he played himself...
Larry's like "Look how small this place is!" while the current residents are two feet away
That’s the most Larry David thing on UA-cam.
This is the closest I’ve seen Larry be nearly taken with emotions. That’s why the gum chewing
Yes you are correct, I was wondering why the gum chewing but you answered my question,

if it's an act, it's working, this thing is hilarious
Larry almost raging at Charlie in the end 😂
WTF? Not the highest ceilings. Otherwise, that apartment is massive. 😦
It looks smaller now cause he lives in a mansion. Larry is like holy shit I actually lived in here

My family had a furniture store on Sheepshead Bay Road. I'm sure Larry knew about it, and perhaps his folks bought from it.

I hope they gave the current residents something for barging in and having to listen to Charlie Rose badger an uninterested LD.
Why? Don't you think that home owner is capable of making his own living? tf is wrong with you?

Love Larry, but can't stand chewing gum with mouth opened .People close your mouth when chewing gum.✌
Huh? I don't get it. Is he emotional? Or is he just a blank dope?
Thats just how he is. He could care less about a previous house or an apartment , those are just things to him .
