    Great upload. I'm in the UK and have a 2017 M240i. I've been busy over the year I've had it making it that little bit more. Top mount front strut brace, BAF k-brace behind rear seats, MST induction, turbo and exhaust manifold blankets, 200 cell high flow downpipe, Bosch B58TU HPFP, 25mm drop lowering springs all round plus spacers, 12mm front 15mm rear. Flashed the gearbox with the XHP stage 3 software and last but not least a stage 2 ECU tune done by a UK company called Litchfield. Running 463bhp and 459ft-lbs. It's not an M2 but it'll leave one on the streets, it's an incredibly quick car. I admit like you have said in a reply the M2 is the one you want and money wise buying an LSD and modding puts you in the M2 price range if your tracking your car, the maintenance cost is what pushed me to the M240i, plus the reliability of the B58 compared to the N55. The M2 could have been so much more, even the comp is held back so not to interfere with the M3/M4 market demand.
    I think as you and many others have done we have bought an absolute weapon of a car with great off the forecourt ability with the potential to go wild if you want to.

      Very nice set of mods! I’ve heard good things about Litchfield from a few videos. The UK has some nice stuff for these cars, especially with you guys having the m235, and the m140i, you guys have way better mods there than here for them. In the US you pay a lot for m240i mods as the cars are pretty uncommon. Really wanted a Quicksilver exhaust system when I had my M240i but getting one in the US from the UK was just too much money.
      As nice as my N55 sounds, I do miss the B58 though, I had 0 issues with that engine. A few people were surprised at my dealership when I traded in the B58 for the N55, M2 or not.
      Personally my favorite thing about the B58 is how well it holds heat. In my part of the US in New England winters can be COLD. Once the B58 warmed up, it stays ready to go for hours. I park my M2 for an hour to have coffee and the thing is ice cold again when I turn it on lol.

      I’m not sure what he’s talking about BMW’s have unreliability’s, I’ve never seen one breakdown on a highway here in the UK. I’ve owned these cars for years and never had any issues with them, maybe BMW send the bada ones to the USA.

    At what mileage did you buy the m240i? A lot of m240i's on the market are between 35-40k.

    • @BertskiZPolski
      @BertskiZPolski  3 місяці тому

      40k miles in pristine condition. Most under 50k should be fairly well maintained because there are no major services to miss besides oil changes. Other fluids can be pushed back a bit without much harm. Over 50k I’d start to be more conscious of what services were done and when.

      @@BertskiZPolski ah okay. Sounds like you got a good deal then at 40k miles @ $30,000. Thanks for the advice, I was looking for listings around 20k miles but those are usually around $40,000

    I’m seriously considering getting a 2018-2020 M240, I’m curious why yours has red seats. I liked the different interior options with the 440. Is it a dealer package? Or trim level? Any guidance is appreciated!

      Great car! The red interior is just an option from factory. I believe the options were black, red, and tan (maybe white as well?). There were a few other factory options on the car like the executive package, but none of them were related to the interior color.
      When you search for used models you can filter which interior colors you want. My M2 for example only comes in black, there are no color options for the interior.

      Nice! I loved the car. Ended up trading for an M2 but if I could keep both and daily the M240i I would. Great car

    Really tempted to get a 240. Thanks for sharing your thoughts - do you think the car needs an LSD?

    • @BertskiZPolski
      @BertskiZPolski  Рік тому +2

      Depends how you want to drive it. In general though I’d say no you don’t need one. Reason is most people in reality, despite what they say online, don’t end up pushing their car around enough to benefit from having the LSD, or even know what the difference feels like. Then when you factor in that it’s still a $2400 part on a $30-$35k car, you’re very close to M2 money. So if you genuinely plan on pushing the car hard it could be worth it but if you just want a fast cruiser save the money. It’s a great car with or without an LSD.
