Really good video, I can follow along and understand everything. The instructor is clear and calm and friendly. Music is good and at an appropriate volume.
I had an issue with my Whirlpool WTW5005KWD making a loud sound. The large nylon pulley nut came off and the belt sliced through the nylon pulley cover. I checked the nylon gears and they were not ground down. Big relief. When I removed the nut there was a tiny bit of blue thread lock on the tip of the bolt thread. I cleaned the the threads of the bolt, pulley spindlel and pulley with 70 percent alcohol and a nylon brush to degrease and let it dry for a while. I added white lithium grease to the spindle hole added the flat smooth washer, blue thread lock and tighten waiting 24 hours for the thread lock to cure. Not the best design from Whirlpool a brand I have bought for decades. The large nylon pulley needs to have a lip to prevent the belt from coming off and a lock nut needs to be installed. Just my opinion. I don't believe the nylon cover prevents the belt from coming off. I hope this helps. 🙏
I noticed a lot of people are having issues taking the 13 mm nut off the pulley so I just use the quarter inch drill impact and that was no problem and then to tighten the belt to get the belt on there I'd loosen both the motor bolts but not taking them out and working on there and then get the belt in the groove tighten those motor belt bolts back down.
What was the cause of the squeaking/squealing sound that was made when the pulley was rotating as he put the belt back on. That’s the problem I have with mine. As the spin cycle starts and as it slows down it makes a rubber squeaking sound.
I tried this but the pulley can remain still but the nut and bolt both spin and there is not enough bolt to grab with pliers and take the nut off with a wrench, how can I hold the bolt and remove the nut while keeping the pulley still ?
I held the pulley/wheel with a slip joint pliers. Just grabbed the edge since I was replacing it anyway. Vice grips would probably be even better. I had thought of oil filter wrench but didn't have one on hand. That's seems most ideal
Excellent! Got right to the job, with no unnecessary comments. Very professional. This video made an easy job fool proof.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I was terrified by this noise; now I'm confident I can fix this!
You saved me some money! Thank you so much for such clear instructions. We followed along and were able to fix our machine!

My maytag washer makes a random grinding noise it sounds just like the noise this made when you rolled the belt off any tips thanks
Very informative video. What if the bolt and nut spin while attempting to remove the bolt. Is there away to keep that from spinning..?
I have the same problem, did u get an answer?
1/4" drill impact worked for me.
I pressed up on my pulley which engaged the gear, this gave me the resistance I needed to loosen the nut.

after remove the pulley nut I can't remove the pulley in my case is so stuck, any suggestion sir?
Thats the clutch, what about the small pully on the motor itself? Can that be changed?
This guy is AMAZING!
Thanks so much!

Shouldn't you grease it...what kind would you use?
Great job.
what about motor pulley?
That's what I'm looking for
Looks like a press-fit.
Pull it off.
How do you remove the motor pulley?

Press up on the pulley to engage the gears. This will give you resistance in the pulley so you can loosen the nut.
i did this and the stupid thing still wont do anything except fill
*put the machine in recalibration mode* and our repairs complete.
Okay so I cant get the 13mm bolt off because it just keeps rotating. But the bolt is tightened down. What would cause that issue?
Did you ever figure this out because I’m currently having this issue ?
Same here. I ended up using one of those rubber belt-type car oil filter wrenches to hold the pulley wheel while taking a breaker bar to the nut.

Press in on the pulley to engage the gears.
Why is it changed
Why do all appliance repair guys never use impacts to remove bolts and screws I don’t get it
Missed grease
What is the best way to lay the washer on its back? 😂
