My washer is making a really loud clicki g noise when it is done spinning and when it is agitating it make a sounds like something is banging could a broke cam be the cause for both of the problems
This is the exact washer I have. It started making a squeeling/chirping noise a few weeks ago when in the wash cycle. I have washed numerous loads since the noise started. I replaced everything as shown in your video (Great work, by the way!). Now my machine is stuck in the Sensing mode. I tried 10 different modes to reset a Whirlpool machine. Nothing worked. I'm thinking its the shifter actuator. What do you think? Thanks for your time.
Would this fix the high pitch squeal that keeps taking place during the start of the spin cycle. Seems to be the only time it happens is after the rinse cycle building up toward the spin cycle. Other than the squeal everything works fine.
I have a roper dtw4516fw2 and it is not agitating. When it tries to agitate it barely moves and I hear a clicking noise. It also spins just fine. I already replaced the washer support and agitator dogs.
Great Video, Question i have a year ago Maytag washer MVW6230HW , and a F7E1 code is on , I check the shifter motor and lever looks fine , what else could be the problem ?????
Is the cam kit the same as the clutch? I bought clutch kit from amazon and receive the plastic thing shown in this video. I have a Kenmore washer that is not spinning. Thank you
I have a GE WTW5000D1 washer. I am installing the Splutch kit, but the problem is attaching the “snap-on” 4-tab part. On this model the tabs do not go into easy square holes. Instead of four square holes this model has four graduated (large to small slot) holes. One must twist the old parts to the left to release the part. Very difficult but do-able. When installing the new 4-tab part, you must twist the 4-tab part to the right for a tight fit. Very difficult! Tried using a screwdriver to enable the twist. No help. Tried using a hammer to tap the screwdriver to better enable the twist. Not yet working. The attempt to pressure the part to twist right caused it to break. I cannot yet find even one video on UA-cam that shows graduated slots. They only show the square holes. Perhaps appliance companies have a special tool to do the twisting. What can I do without an expensive visit by a professional?
Correction. Is not a GE. Is a Whirlpool. I have seen Steve on a bunch of repair videos. He is the most professional and capable of any of the many technicians that I have seen over the years.
Been there done...a hammer will break the tabs..I found a little bit of lubrication..and. gentle tap works great..also the washer Steve was working on had transmission oil leak or water leak..hence the color brown all over the splutch assy..I'm the owner / tech of an appliance repair business 25 years and still going on Ohio. Steve does an excellent informative videos...I'd like him to include why??? We are replacing the Splutch assy
When I pull on the main pulley there is some play on it just enough so the gear and the pulley is no longer making contact and making a grinding sound. Does this mean my transmission is gone?
There typically isnt that sort of play. if your sure the pulley is on as far as it can go on the shaft and the bolt is tight and the play in the shaft is more than an 1/8th of an inch then your likely looking at a new gearcase.
from the looks of the bottom of the washer and the water staining the tub seal has gone out.. why you didn't repair that.. the shift controller will stop working in 2 - 3 months it will corrode and stop working
Easiest way to fix this washer? Scrap it and get a good used direct drive Whirlpool built washer. Even if you fix this turd, don't expect to get more than another 3 or 4 years out of it before it rusts out or breaks again.
This was exactly the video I needed. Thanks a million! On my model, the clips on the gear assembly twist in and out - a lot easier than the clips.
Thanks, Steve. Excellent ( I repaired my Maytag 17Kgs)
Very useful information I just fixed my washing machine exactly how you instructed.!. Thanks alot my guy!💯
This video helped me, thanks steve.
With this video I find my mistake, thank you very much 👍
Good video🌻🌼🌸
thank you. very good video
You forgot to tell people to grease the gear. Thanks Steve I started and paused the entire video 😅

Thank You Bro

Am I supposed to grease or lube the clutch?

For whirlpool that seems like the same model, would bad clutch cause agitator play? We hold drum in place, and have some rotation play in the agitator
Does the cam control the balance of the drum?
Is the cam kit the same as the clutch? I bought clutch kit from amazon and receive the plastic thing shown in this video. I have a Kenmore washer that is not spinning. Thank you
What does the cam control watch or control?
Agitate vs. spin mode.
What do you do when the nut? Just keep spinning in spinning. Doesn't want to come out on the clutch.
did you figure this out, im having the same issue and cant find the answer anywhere
For mine I grabbed it with channeloks so it couldn't spin and used an impact to turn it. Mine was doing the same
Why didn't you replace the other pully the smaller one??

Also...
always replace ALL of the parts in splutch kit
What's the price?
Hello where can I get the gears of a defy 8 kg washing machine
Take the brand & model # & punch that information on Amazon.
Replaced clutch assembly, belt and shift actuator and machine still only rarely spinning properly. Any ideas?
Electrical is the only thing left if it's not mechanical
Did you recalibrate the machine? There are videos to help with that
When I try to remove the 13mm knot, all it does is spin and spin
If the pulley spins! You’ll have to use a strap wrench on it to hold it! PS the nut was really tight on my machine
When I pull on the main pulley there is some play on it just enough so the gear and the pulley is no longer making contact and making a grinding sound. Does this mean my transmission is gone?

need to do a recalibrate mode
Don't overtighten! It sounds horrible if you do! Use locktight (reversible) to lock the nut.
Very Good!... #23 ✝ {11-9-2022}
My washer must be the only one with a bottom metal oanel because all these videos there is magically no bittom metal cover
Anything to save the company money halfway through manufacturing
You really need to grease the nylon gears.
My washing machine has a scraping sound when it’s washing
from the looks of the bottom of the washer and the water staining the tub seal has gone out.. why you didn't repair that.. the shift controller will stop working in 2 - 3 months it will corrode and stop working
That’s a different lessons. We’re here for the clutch.
Looks like oil Steve.
