I very much like the hidden principle here. The fact that people who work together often know each other. This way, by sharing something new, you can make them more open minded. You are opening them to learning and discovering new things. It puts them in the right zone. I really like it.
Thanks a lot! Will try it on my next workshop!
I love doing a Rock Paper Scissors blitz tourney. Really gets everyone moving, laughing, cheering teammates. Over in 10 minutes, start to finish with 26 or so people. I like 2 truths and a lie, when everyone is broken up into small groups of 4-5. Everyone walks out knowing a couple memorable things about each of their group members. Finally, I'm doing an icebreaker next week kicking off with a mind map of your life/personhood. Each person draw theirs out, share them with the small group, then put their name on them and tape them to the wall for everyone in the larger team to see them through the day.
I love your suggestion, thanks for sharing it so well.
Really cool idea.
You not only make people dig their own experience for knowledge but you also make the other curious about what their going to hear from their peers.
I believe curiosity here is the key and this method nails it.
Great suggestion!
First I wasn't impressed of this idea, but I decided to try it out since I like everything you do. The result was amazing. People talked about their first job experiences with sparkles in their eyes and it was a great boost for the workshop... And I was just thinking- just do what AJ&Smart is saying. Dont' even think about your (my) opinion :) Thank you people. You're doing it amazing.
Amazing, simple and to the point. Love this idea, thanks Jonathan!
Thanks for the comment Jason! Let us know how it goes when you use it! Cheers
Great tip there. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Nick! Glad you liked it. What other warm up exercises have you used in your workshops? Cheers
Great one. Putting this in my toolkit for the next workshop 👍
Great vaexperience! let us know how it goes! Cheers
Gran ejercicio, gracias por compartir el conocimiento :D
Thanks juan david. Glad you liked the video. We love to share our knowledge! Saludos
love this
Aww thank you!
Great ice-breaking exercise, thanks!
Thanks Andrea Romoli! Glad you like it
Great warm-up idea! And fun b-roll lol
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Genius! Going to use this for our first team-building exercise. First time getting to use my Workshopper skills at my new job. 😁Also, hand raised for being one of those ignorant Americans who kissed the Blarney stone and bought the photo. 😅Now very much regret that choice. Should have done my research first.
I love this warm-up exercise. I also think that a couple of rounds of "This or That" is a good warm-up, so people can get to know each other based on their opinion.
Thanks for sharing Coen van Hees! That's a great suggestion. "This or that" is easy and fun for everyone. Have a great day or cheers?
May I ask how it works? I tried to search for it and couldn't find a description. Thanks.
@@AJSmart no problem guys. Yes, exactly! Thank you and have a nice day :)

excellent warm-up!
Glad you liked it!

Nice Pavan Kumar! Thanks
When it comes to warmup, regardless of the type of it, I make sure that the activity is relatable with the content of the facilitation - a link, a connection. Without that, even the best warmup does not work.
That's a great approach Caio Gobbo! Indeed a warmup can work better when it's used in the right context! Thanks for sharing.
I like the use the walk/stop exercise. Link here: ua-cam.com/video/a72goyDtjeI/v-deo.html
It's a great warm up and it also helps to make the link with learning and change. First level you're confused. Second level you're starting to learn. Third time you know what's coming and can adapt. I've had nothing but success and it's fun.
That seems to be a great warm-up if people are willing to remember their first jobs and talk about them. But what if their first job was something embarrassing? Ok, they'll invent something or talk about their second/third job, but the very memory and the necessity to hide it might be a bad start for the day
what if they did not have a first job
“If you’re an animal, what are you? Why?”
🤔 Hey Izuddin! Is that a warm up/ice breaker that you are using? How is it performing in your workshops? Cheers
i'd rather get punched in the face than having to tell that story - can't extroverts just understand introverts for once?
