Like many Hoovie fans I saw this unfold through Hoovies eyes. He bought them kind of two for the price of one and then the prices doubled. So he had some big assets.
When he was contemplating selling the first one, he was troubled by a big tax obligation. Selling off a car that had windfall profits would put an end to this financial concern. Clearly he wasn't ready to part with it and even though he was doing the smart thing by selling it, he found he just couldn't do it when it came time to go through with it. I think we can all relate to this. He felt bad.
He sold the Diablo because he never drove it and never bonded with it so he cashed out on a windfall.
the diablo is so much cooler😭
He spent a pile on that Diablo though. Isn't that the one that was sat without a steering rack for months on end? I'm not surprised he didn't put tyres on it before selling!
@@nickmaclachlan5178 Right you are. I think he said that was part of the reason it never clicked. It just sat and then he never used it.
@@nickmaclachlan5178 yes. but looks wise? im taking that diablo
Classic propaganda to pump up lambo values smh
I’m willing to bet he’d sell if you were buying for yourself. Car salesmen have a mental block against selling to someone who’s gonna flip it.
Not just salesman. Had a coworker bring a car to me that was beat with hail. I was trying to figure out how to fix it at not retail. Come to find out, he bought it to flip. I automatically was not interested.
Car salesman here, and you’re right. I always private sale my cars, and don’t wholesale
this was my first thought
I'm a car salesman and as long as everyone is making money and feels ok with the deal then I don't care if the buyer plans on flipping it
Nah dude just realized he bought a 300k car for 100 grand back then and now it's closer to 750k to mill, and a literal gold mine 20 years from now , nice little retirement nest egg
As Hoovie notes in his recent SLS video, Tyler took out a loan using the Countach as collateral presumably providing Temerian's purchase offer as a valuation to the bank. Temerian got played like a piano accordion.
Ed is the real winner here, he’s getting the views on views lol.
Hoovie: Im getting divorced.
John: Ill buy that shiz.
Damn. Never would have thought I would have bought more cars from Hoovie than John. Riptide blue escalade still in my garage.
So it all boils down to being Ed's fault..😂lol
Yep, don't know why Ed keeps both a Snek and Rat attached to his neck.
Because he's ed
Good thing he doesn't buy land cruisers
Credit for the assist!
So it’s Ed’s fault.
you should always get a 10% cut from anything that starts with you... :)
#Farmed
Ed for the win triple double figures
Hoovie made hundreds and hundreds of thousands, but he also lost just that much in his recent divorce. That woman took him to the cleaners.
and that outcome was obvious for everyone after she appeared in the videos.
Oh damn?!
Already that a happened??!
Wow.
I can't believe Tyler did make her sign a prenup.
I saw the title and instantly knew this would be a Temerian episode! Lol
Same
Yep, I instantly pictured that Snek in my head.

Friend of mine sold him his e63 wagon with the agreement that if Tyler ever sold it, my friend got first dibs on it. Tyler then listed it for sale a while later. Friend contacted him about it and he refused to sell it back to him
he lost his mind when he got on the mopar forum with that travesty bird clone car that he overpaid for and then ended up going thru just to be able to drive it and the winged car experts told him the truth about the cars background and actual value.
that car was actually Wrecked and totalled and then Clipped back together using another Body Shell..
he ranted and raved and hey he knows everything and those experts...dont.
these are people who have been saving restoring and preserving wing cars for over 30 years......they can look at a Rivet and tell you if its original hardware in about .03 seconds.
hoovies a real jerk...funny how he sold it shortly thereafter too.
and it went to a non wing guy who has no clue.
i used to be a suscriber too, till i saw the real hoovie in action.
Wouldn't surprise me, there's something off about Tyler Hoover.
I enjoy his videos but people forget he was and is a used car salesman.
@@Christian_Johanssonbetween this ordeal and how slimey his introduction of his new gf immediately after his divorce, I’ve lost all interest.
The AIDS green wagon?
If I remember correctly, Hoovie payed 250k for both cars from a doctor
Yup. And it was the Car Wizard that turned him on to the deal. Both the Wizard and the previous owner (eccentric Doc) are into tanks (of all things)
Tanks 😭😂
When it comes to Ed/Hoovie cars "for-sale", the sale is motivated to promote a partnering website ('Cars and Bids' or 'AutoTempest') or to generate content - most of the REAL sales happen off-website with their personal friend network. I also see that when Hoovie says he's going to sell something, half-the-time he refuses the bids he's sent, and he ends up keeping the car....
yes, when someone is selling something they are looking to make money. that's pretty standard.
@@teddyboragina6437 But you're guessing - truth be told, UA-cam channel profits most-often pay for the vehicles, and the business-tax 'write-offs' mean that Ed/Hoovie pay ZIP for the cars. Since they fail to disclose the sales-prices of the cars they actually DO sell, their profit-margin is just a guesstimate.
Tyler Hoover is the human personification of "clickbait", he can't help but lie to get views and he has no problems with it. I would never trust someone like that, if my life depended on it I would rather go buy a coffin and embrace the end. Clickbaits and the persons using them for profit are the main thing ruining internet and especially youtube.
honestly I'm glad this ended up with a happy ending, yeah John Temerian didn't get the Countach (yet) But I'm glad the two became friends and still were able to make a transaction. I think one of the problems with selling a car like that, in hoovie's case 'letting go' is that he's actually one of the passionate people about the car, so often you get these rich people that just see it as a way to more or less just launder money or it 'looks good' on their picturesque mansion's driveway. As such, those kind of people really don't care and will sell just because of a good offer, but in Tylers case, and I bet that John probably understands this which is why they're friends and didn't grow a grudge: When you actually care about the cars like these two do, its harder to let go, I'm sure both of them have cars they wish they'd never sold, and in this case for Tyler, the Countach is the one where he doesn't want to make that mistake.
So a used car dealer is complaining that a different used car dealer made more money on a car then him? I dont understand the complaints... you made money on a car you sold very easily, this should have been a thank you hoovie video haha.
Seems to me like John’s still sore about not being able to make hundreds and hundreds of thousands off Tyler
Love Hoovie and Ed. John, not so much. He just comes off a lil greasy to me. Baiscally whining about Hoovies windfall at the end. Moreso now that he blasts Hoovie due to the lack of his due diligence. Typical used car salesman. Very ironic that a "Hoovie fan" buys it unadvertised.
Agreed
Yeah I really hate this dude.
Maybe it’s simply he was getting divorced and had to deal with asset issues and the courts.
Supply and demand. Zero supply, high demand. He was testing the market to see what a real offer looks like, you're wholesale, he wants retail.
Selling a car thats not fully maintained can be a handoff of a gernade. When you sell to Jihn, hes gonna flip it. But he'll sort it first. Thats why you see him to sell your car
SBF buys a Lamborghini… he loooks and sounds just like him.. he could play Sam bankman freed in a movie
I hope that John Temerian didn't injure his back while he was throwing Hoovie under a bus😀
Hoovie jammed himself under the bus, multiple times
STOP!! Don't tell Hoovie's ex-wife how much the Countach has appreciated!
i met tyler, hes a really nice guy. i doubt there was any ill will towards the transaction.
I don't think there was either. Hoovie knows how iconic the Countach is and how much it's worth. He liked having it and couldn't part with it. I don't blame him, I'd have trouble selling a nice Countach that I got the deal of the century on either.
Tyler has had a rough time for the last year or so. Between divorce and poor financial choices (renovating a farm and not paying taxes). So he probably really needed the money so he tried to get himself to sell it but just couldn’t because he loved it too much.
Well worth it nothing like taking a Lamborghini and doing donuts in it in the snow. As a born and raised Chicago in. If I had the means I’d be doing the same damn thing. Donuts in the parking lot full of snow.
Car Trek? Now there's a show we haven't seen in a while...
Love some Hoovie and love some Curated. Cheers to all!
I never was much for selling to resale people. I know they have to make a profit but with Hoovie's notoriety he would have no problem getting at least retail for them.
I have a guy right now that wants a bunch of my early 60s f100 parts to for pennies to resell when we know the same people. Maybe he's a better salesman though.
In general I agree but I disagree on this case because John’s business isn’t flipping cars quick. He takes in cars and makes them like new. He makes his premium from the prestige of selling a sorted car. I have friends who buy imported cars from Driver Motorsports because they believe (and usually true) that the car is more expensive but has been went through and will be higher quality
I actually prefer the 25th anniversary over the earlier cars
Cheap off the wall tires. Come on - do it all cheap is his policy.
tyler hoovie typing.........😂
This guy is such a used car salesbro
This gus gives me the vibe foe (Aging wheels) chanel guy a slightly touchup version.
Love your channel and content, Equally love Hoovies channel and content.
I hope that John Temerian didn't injure his back while he was throwing Hoovie under a bus.
John did nothing wrong. Hoovie is the one that kept backing out after agreeing to the deal. Here's a thought... don't do things you have to apologize for. Then no bus needed.
They are both good friends so not much throwing under the bus here. Hoovie also spoke about it at length on his channel
Sir, I don’t think you watched the video then 😂
I hope he did hurt is back
Tyler Hoover’s meat riders are out in full force I see 🚴 🍆
Hoovie got very lucky with those cars
Hahahaha, these are the juicy stories we've all been waiting for 😂
Making friends everywhere Ed goes
7:38 OH I guess you didn't hear! Tyler installed a "Gurney Bubble" on the Countach. So, yeah...😂❤🏁
My offer was even higher then the appraisal I did for the car. Lol
Great story!!! Thanks Ed & John!!! 🎉🎈🎊👍👍
why just don't sell these cars on open market? what the point to making deals with flippers?
Don't blame him for not selling to you. The market was still on the rise and you were trying to force a sale. Good on him for passing. You CANT FORCE A SALE.
True . But there is also freedom of speech, I don’t think he harassed Tyler about it he was just frustrated and rightfully so. Time is money especially if you are running a business. Personally I probably would keep this to myself but I get it
This is the same guy that hunted down a rare lambo and said it was his dream car and sold it almost instantly…
He was working behind the scenes. People were probably saying no.
Yeah, but what was the whine?
Content creation folks. Create some uncertainty, controversy, etc and watch tje clicks!
ohhhh.. theres a WHINE coming from the engine. I thought he said there's WINE coming from the engine.
I was hoping for John to have learned something from Ed. Unfortunately, the shrewd negotiation didnt meet right smack dab in the middle at 25000.
First few mins I thought hrmm this dude just seems like someone I would never trust. And by the end of the video I would never trust that dude…..
He wont sell it for a person who is just going to flip it, zero respect.
@ 03:33, Hoovies reaction, lol!
The 25th Anniversary is rare and special enough for me to be kind of miffed at Martin Scorsese for destroying one just to make a movie about that horrible guy who destroyed another. Two of Pagani's first major artworks lost to a toxic story the world would have been better off ignoring. Tommy Chong should have never told him to write an autobiography, Scorsese should have used his time and money to make a different movie, and they should have shaved an hour off it by editing-out all the pointless f-bombs.
There were two cars used in the film. The destroyed one was a kit, not a real Lambo.
@@Jim-Slade They destroyed a real one for the movie. It's just gone up for auction.
Does John from curated identify as an excavator? Sounds like he’s just digging up the past
There's a whine in this video...and I'm listening to it.
Yeah, I would expect Tyler to be rather high-strung, cagey, and indecisive to deal with. He's one of those high energy guys that is just so much fun to be around, but a pain in the **s to work with at times...even if they are skilled in their craft.
You have 3 things car money title you can only have 2. Until 1 changes hands no deal is final.
Great story.
Nice video bro
I'd no problem buying his cars, most were in the original boxes.
When Hoovie decides to sell the Countach, I'm sure he'll call John first, knowing John wants it.
But John doesn't even want it. He is just another salesman trying to make a buck off it. Tyler would do better to find out who actually wants to own it and sell directly to him.
@@ralphinator2 That's certainly true, but John is also a friend of Tyler's who has pursued the car for a while. and John might give him a better price because he knows the value.
Your a winner. Tyler doesn’t owe anything!

no vinwiki vid is worth 30sec of mandatory ads.
I'm pretty sure if Tyler sold both he would walk away with 7 figures think he said he bought both for under 300k
John Temerian moaning again about not being able to cash in from a pressure sale.
One always has to wonder how much of the profit that car sellers like Ed make on all of these transaction they actually report and pay taxes on.
Didn't Tylor buy the young timer Lambos from Ed? I found there are a few US car youtubers selling their cars among one another. It's more fun until you notice.
I'm in the minority of Countach fanboys because a pearl white anniversary car is my dream machine.. But it must be a Euro spec bumper car. I love every Countach but that Pearl Anni.. Yup.. Good thing that decision isn't a problem for me. A rusty 05 Caravan that won't die works too! It's my Lame Bore Mini.. Holds more chix!😜
I don't blame hoovie for backing out of the Lamborghini deal..... john comes off as a real prick
So you don't blame him for being a prick? Smh.

This just seems like a bad idea all around, just keep bugging him until he caves in!

@@TheGavinbullard Ummm.........no, go lie down.
If someone kept bugging me, he or she would be the very last person I'd sell to.
Especially if it were this awful excuse for a human being
@TheGavinbullard I'll give you a Buffalo Nickel if you take a breath and calm down. It's a comment on UA-cam. Don't name call. Your mother raised you with better manners.
It's not called bugging. The aim is polite and persistent. Sometimes check in every year. BUT when it is for sale the guilt of all those calls means they'll give you first crack
you are a businessman. You buy if he's ready to sell, if not just move on. Don't just prey and stalk them for what they own. You know you'd profit off of someone's situation. Cause, you are a businessman.
This dude is awfully Summer's Eve like..
😅 that was nice
He is that…..the BIG ‘’D’’
That is a wonderful insult. Can I borrow it?
Tyler has not made "hundreds of thousands of dollars" until he actually sells the car.
Ed stop hosting this guy! Please.
Yep… so scummy
That’s a very polite call out 😂
The first one sounded mean
700 is common? Nah.
I know Hoovie is no saint, and I’m curious about why, with the exception of Wizard, and maybe the Car Ninja, no one stays around him and his channel for too long. But geez, Temerian always gave me the wrong vibe and it just got worse w/ him digging up this story yet again, claiming everything is good and yet seeming still so salty about those deals. Complaining about unobtanium lambo tires? C’mon dude…
Why do people seem to think they know absolutely everything that’s going on about someone… based on just a few videos? 🤦♂️
It has to be John from Curated, you handled this nice bud, way more professionally. Kudos
I mean most young people can’t even afford a house, let alone a countach
Hoovie is a strange dude but sounds like he needed money for his farm and then got funded
Divorces aren't cheap either.
@@HaddaClu Is he getting a divorce?

Then why did Hoovie, who knows what he does, approach him with the deals in the first place?
Hoovie shouldn't sell to you anyway. He should find out who the real customer is and make the deal with them.
Yeah we all saw you get arsed over social media that he wouldn't sell to you.. why it would only be sold on..
