About 15 years ago my aunt, who was in her late 80's, was in a nursing home. She was a big Jay Leno fan and wrote a letter to him to ask for a signed photo. Jay, you live a dream for many of us. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting you a couple of times at car shows. You may be the kindest person to walk the earth. Thanks for sharing your cars with us. More importantly thanks for being a great example for the next generation.
By far the most valuable thing about Jay Leno's collection is Jay. He just knows how to be a great human being and enjoy all the little nuances of everything and everybody. That's what we love about him. It's not about the numbers Piers. But you'll probably never truly get that.
I am not a car buff, but I have to say I would travel to California if Jay ever gave tours of his garage. I could listen to the eloquent stories behind the cars for hours!
I would love to just be in this garage for a month or to just to have a chance to admire all the cars... That's still more likely than to have a beer with Jay Leno. World needs more people like him. Wise. Down to earth guy that accomplished billion times more than I could ever just think of.
My first job out of college (1975) was working for the Fram Oil Filter Company. Fram was headquartered in Pawtucket RI. Every year the company would hold a sales meeting in varies resort places around the country. As was part of the festivities during the week, they would have entertainment during the evenings. One of the entertainers was a new, upcoming comic from the Boston area. His name was Jay Leno. Jay put on a great show for all 30/35 of us. He seems as humble today as he did way back then.
I am an Air Force Desert Shield veteran. A big aircraft and antique and classic car nut. Back when I wasn't dirt poor I used to have classics. 1963 Chrysler 300 Indy Pace car convertible with a 383 push button transmission on the dash,73 318ci. Dart Swinger,74 Valiant Scamp,74 Dart,69 Dart 196, 70 Dodge Colt, and a 66 dune buggy. When Jay told the story about the Rolls with the Aircraft engine. I cried. That really moved me. What a story. Thank you both so much. Please forward this message to Jay as well. God bless you and God bless America.
Jay Leno is a true American Treasure. He's amazing in so many ways. He's so funny and humble and has encyclopedic knowledge of automobiles from the beginning to today. I'm just amazed he's in his garage and not wearing Denim... Couldn't resist...
Can you ever see someone have a collection of EV's anywhere close to this magnificent collection of ICE cars? Each and every one of Jay's cars has a distinct personality and story to tell. Most EV's are as interesting as a tumble drier and as expensive to run, when out on the roads! This was a wonderful insight into the man that is Jay Leno, a true gentleman!
Just when I think I can't like Jay Leno any more, I see this! What a wonderful person. I've come close to meeting him a few times but never was able to put it together. Hope to see "the garage" someday.
Piers sturggles with reading the room. Most of his questions were cost releated when u can clearly see jay being uninterested about telling him that. He clearly loves cars and is very passionate about it.
Guys like Jay, he could have just a few classics, or as many as he does, he would still be just as down to earth as the next guy! Just a great collector, loves his cars and proud of them.
It is not good etiquette to ask a classic car collector what their cars are worth as that is not the point when you are a genuine car guy . Just saying speaking as somebody with the same illness as Jay albeit with only 1/10th of the number of cars. I thoroughly enjoyed the video and also enjoy Jay Leno Garage videos which in reality , being from the uk, is what I mainly recognise him from.
Terry Thomas lol. Can't remember the last time I heard his name pop up. A great reference though and one that brought back some pleasant memories. Leno is a class act.
Jay Leno is a true Car guy. Collection is a history of cars. His manner and nice-ness is on full display. Please accept all the best for wife. You are a treasure.
Compared to Piers Morgan's complete lack of knowledge of car brands. Couldn't believe a British guy would have no idea what the iconic McLaren F1 looks like.
I got a chance to visit Jay's Big Dog garage and even have lunch with him and the crew. He has an encyclopedic mind about cars. Completely impressed with his knowledge. His head mechanic Bernard I knew from Los Gatos and my Jaguar and Triumph cars, which is how we (me and my mechanic buddy Dan Matthews) got to visit. Jay was very gracious and getting to chat Lamborghini Countachs with him was great. Total car guy™ 100% authentic. I'll never forget that visit. Thanks Jay! And Bernard!
One of the most incredible things about Jay is he always has something nice to say about guests, friends and acquaintances God Bless you Jay and prayers for Maeve.
PM may have been born British, but nobody here wants him, it's probably cruel to say we're glad you've got him. Jay Leno , he's the genuine gent in true British style.
Wow ! What I would give to spend a day ( Or longer, as a day would not be enough ) with Jay walking around his stunning collection and listen to the history and stories behind each car. I`ve watched countless episodes of Jay`s Garage and his knowledge is second to none, a true down to earth car guy with no airs and graces.
1:44 Hello from Sweden. The grey SAAB V4 (SAAB 96)... What a sight!!! Pure nostalgia, haven't seen one of those for many decades. My neighbour had one and it smoked and smelled like burnt oil when he drove away while we were outside playing in the yard... Ah, the smell of an "environment friendly" two-stroke engine in the 1960s-1970s 😂😂😂
Impressive how he remembers the year the bought the cars and all the stories attached to them. Love you Jay. @9:12 Jay said it is Gordon Murray first car and he clearly doesnt know who Gordon is because he asked what make it is. lol
Wonderful interview. Very candid. Thank you Jay. Oh, I saw the comment about his road rage incident, that turned into a delightful human story. Boy, I would love to take a tour of his garage. His love of cars and their history is like no other. He's a fantastic story teller.

I think he was funnier in Mississippi! I’m from California. He’s a very nice, sweet guy. He told the story of tracking down & buying his first car, a Corvair.
What a nice guy, and full of knowledge, and he remembers all about each car Piers asks him about. Just imagine going into that garage each morning and wondering which car do I take out today. Stuff of dreams (sigh)
I'm the opposite of emotional but when Jay told the story about his "road rage" and how he and Taylor Swift turned it into an epic positive for the other guy and his daughters I felt tears welling up.
Always great to see Jay, I'm sure he couldn't wait to get back in his jeans and jean shirt... pleasant interview from two of the best at taking jabs and giving it right back....
Casually blowing off every effort to bring attention to his own accomplishments in these stories. "Oh those guys in Britain..." disregarding the astonishment of having built it in house with a chassi and an airplane motor lol. Class act for sure

Jay is just a cool dude. His passion for automobiles is matched by very few. Living the dream. Nice work Jay.
Jay seems like such a down to earth nice guy.
Jay is the king of car collectors, not just because of his amazing collection, but because he is such a cool guy.
Jay Leno always comes over as a real gentleman at all times.
Even when dupes his fellow colleague Conan?
@@tombutc How did he dupe him?
@@tombutcso, the answer…?
My first job out of college (1975) was working for the Fram Oil Filter Company. Fram was headquartered in Pawtucket RI. Every year the company would hold a sales meeting in varies resort places around the country. As was part of the festivities during the week, they would have entertainment during the evenings. One of the entertainers was a new, upcoming comic from the Boston area. His name was Jay Leno. Jay put on a great show for all 30/35 of us. He seems as humble today as he did way back then.
Jay is just a car guy.
Through and through car guy.
Respect.
What is a “car guy”?
" Im thinking more Terry Thomas " is a brilliant and funny response by Jay . I let out a belly laugh on that one
Jay is the best 😇
Jay Leno is a true American Treasure. He's amazing in so many ways. He's so funny and humble and has encyclopedic knowledge of automobiles from the beginning to today. I'm just amazed he's in his garage and not wearing Denim... Couldn't resist...
Jay Leno is an Automobile historian. He is doing a great job at preserving the history of automobiles for generations to come.
Jay Leno is a truly inspirational man . Legend.
Long live Jay Leno the king the legend of cars.
Two such beautifully Humble people, together relating! ✌🙏❤🇬🇧
Just when I think I can't like Jay Leno any more, I see this! What a wonderful person. I've come close to meeting him a few times but never was able to put it together. Hope to see "the garage" someday.
I will never meet him, and I know he gets pestered all the time, but I do like him. A real Mensch.
Piers sturggles with reading the room. Most of his questions were cost releated when u can clearly see jay being uninterested about telling him that. He clearly loves cars and is very passionate about it.
Piers is a shallow twit.
Jay Leno is so cool! It's not just his great personality and comedy that make him stand out, but also his impressive collection of cool cars!
Guys like Jay, he could have just a few classics, or as many as he does, he would still be just as down to earth as the next guy! Just a great collector, loves his cars and proud of them.
Jay is a proper chilled out likeable guy
What a stand up guy. These are the people who should be on TV as role models
Great interview with Jay Leno ~A favorite
The knowledge that jay has of all his cars is magnificent
Do you happen to know how many people he employs to maintain that entire collection?
One of the most incredible things about Jay is he always has something nice to say about guests, friends and acquaintances God Bless you Jay and prayers for Maeve.
PM may have been born British, but nobody here wants him, it's probably cruel to say we're glad you've got him.
Jay Leno , he's the genuine gent in true British style.
Jay is a true, real gentleman.
Conan O’Brian doesn’t approve

1:24 Caught the Camera man panicking LMAOOO
I just like that Mr. Leno is in the world. What a role model.
Jay's got to be of the humblest celebrity ever.
Keanu is motorcycle Jay Leno
1:44 Hello from Sweden. The grey SAAB V4 (SAAB 96)... What a sight!!! Pure nostalgia, haven't seen one of those for many decades. My neighbour had one and it smoked and smelled like burnt oil when he drove away while we were outside playing in the yard... Ah, the smell of an "environment friendly" two-stroke engine in the 1960s-1970s 😂😂😂
Impressive how he remembers the year the bought the cars and all the stories attached to them. Love you Jay. @9:12 Jay said it is Gordon Murray first car and he clearly doesnt know who Gordon is because he asked what make it is. lol
He didn’t even know what the McLaren f1 was
Hence his nickname Piers Moron
Wonderful interview. Very candid. Thank you Jay. Oh, I saw the comment about his road rage incident, that turned into a delightful human story. Boy, I would love to take a tour of his garage. His love of cars and their history is like no other. He's a fantastic story teller.
Jay is the nicest guy around + enciklopedia of cars ... Living legend ... P.s. Mr. Leno in suit ... 😎
Specially to Conan O’Brian
Perhaps one the most unpretentious celebrities on the planet today. Always interesting to watch and listen to. My prayers for him and his lovely bride!
Now this was the last two I expected to see together talking cars ........... really enjoyed it
Mr. Leno + Mr. Morgan ... Priceless ... 👍🚙
I think it would be a great interview if it was Piersless😂
Thx to you both. Jay it was a dream to see the cars. Anytime I see old cars in the summer, for some reason I salute everyone lolol
Great tour Jay!
The obvious difference between them both.. Jay showing every bit about being a decent human being, while piers ignoring that and only show a nagging interest in the worth of the cars.
Jay's the most Awesome. Love his cars, their stories and his presentation.
Jay has to be one of the most down to earth car collectors out there. He enjoys and maintains what he has never acting like he's better than anyone else and just chill overall 👏🏻
Jay Leno What a lovely man 😊
My dad was driving to work in his 67 camaro back in the 90s in Glendale ca he ran into jay in the streets jay was cool enough to say what’s up to my pops haha cool memory my dad likes to talk about it because he’s a big car car guy him self.
Jay is the Go To guy when you're talking cars.
I’ve seen Jay Leno twice, his comedy shows. Once in Las Vegas & twice in Mississippi.
He had some dirty jokes in Las Vegas. But, in Mississippi ? Clean, white bread jokes only. I think he was funnier in Mississippi! I’m from California. He’s a very nice, sweet guy. He told the story of tracking down & buying his first car, a Corvair.
Jay has more cars than the FORD MUSEUM has in their fabulous collection of historic automobiles......
A really great American! Great sense of humour (UK spelling) too.😊
Jay Leno is an American treasure! Thank you for sharing this Jay.
What a nice guy, and full of knowledge, and he remembers all about each car Piers asks him about. Just imagine going into that garage each morning and wondering which car do I take out today. Stuff of dreams (sigh)
heard stories ive never heard Jay tell before on any of his channels great people
Jay is pure class and a genuinely a nice guy. Love his you tube channel.
The term national treasure is thrown around a lot these days but Jay Leno is the real deal.
I can watch this again and again
I'm the opposite of emotional but when Jay told the story about his "road rage" and how he and Taylor Swift turned it into an epic positive for the other guy and his daughters I felt tears welling up.
I LOVE Jay Leno. I'm a car guy too and it would be my dream-come-true to meet Jay, and take a LONG tour of his machines.
You and a billion other fans.
I always admired Jay for his humility and love for cars!
Always great to see Jay, I'm sure he couldn't wait to get back in his jeans and jean shirt... pleasant interview from two of the best at taking jabs and giving it right back....
haha very true
The Canadian tuxedo made famous by an American.
Helluva friendly interview. Like how Jay hustled that firetruck 🎉
You're a legend Jay. Love all your shows.
I enjoyed this interview very good, thanks Piers.
Casually blowing off every effort to bring attention to his own accomplishments in these stories. "Oh those guys in Britain..." disregarding the astonishment of having built it in house with a chassi and an airplane motor lol. Class act for sure
It's so wonderful all the history that Jay is preserving.
Excellent interview. Long live Jay Leno.
Love it, my late father was a GM engineer for 42 years.. we love cars
