Hello, Are there any artists who compose modern, contemporary works with this level of sophistication? Creating a work with this structure requires planning several weeks, months, sketches, rehearsals, materials. Assembling such an articulated work is not an impulse gesture, but it is certainly a work studied down to the smallest detail. Thanks😊

Thank you Nic, nice cut. I considered that the warmth of the room and the coldness of the moment contrast nicely.

This painting always amazed me. Someone with masterful skills over just creating a really detailed and realistic looking things and human characters, combined with another whole set of skills to put the elements together this way. I feel dwarfed by this piece, knowing how little I know compared to this painter, but just the thought that this is something that's possible to do with a few colorful liquids fills me with so much enthusiasm to create.

Yeah the rugs! I mean of course the faces ... but the next moment I was struck by the rugs and, upon closer inspection, the story they tell. I absolutely love paintings that have a spectrum of storytelling elements. This one is exceptional.
Another thing I noticed is the darker subdued tones behind the action area .... the moment when the son was still alive has become the past...dark, cold. That, juxtaposed with the action area, just seems to press home the pain of the present... overturned, bleeding, horror, regret... wow.

When I first encountered Repin's works in a video a decade ago, I admired him greatly, but upon seeing this, I fell in love with the genius and the depth of humanity in it. I've not had a chance to spend time with the image because I haven't encountered a book of this Russian painter's works (2nd hand, that is, as I could not afford a new edition). Thank you for your sensitive reading of the painting, and some of the intricacies.❤‍🔥

    Hello
I have been watching your content for a week now and enjoying your perspectives and teachings. I would enjoy hearing you discuss Alla Prima Oil painting, why? Why not? Are there any benefits? How does this style of painting connect to the methods used by the old masters?
