For me collecting stickers is just part of the journaling hobby. I may or may not use what I have, but just having them brings me joy. I love to look through them to find just the right one for what I'm working on in a particular day. Or sometimes I just put down a random sticker because I'm tired of looking at it want it out of my stash! We all journal differently and use our creativity in different ways. And what makes sense one day may not the next. I think as a community we tend to go a bit in cycles. Maike, your artwork is adorable and it always makes me so happy to look at. You keep doing what you do and don't give thought to what the opinions of others are. Years from now when you look back at your journals you will find joy in the creative pieces you have in there and the memories it will bring back. How boring to look at a journal with only text!

Honestly, watching creative journaling and practicing creative journaling has helped me manage my depression. Creativity is universal and NEEDED in society.
I would agree that misogyny plays a part, but I also think that the videos that rant-y videos get a LOT of engagement. It pays to have controversial takes on things. People just need to mind their business and let people enjoy things! And, Maike, I LOVE those stickers! Congrats on them!

Also yes i have adhd and stickers and colour makes planning so much more fun, which makes me so much more likely to actually do the stuff because it feels more fun and motivating

It’s whatever you want to do with it because we all have different purposes for our journals. There are so many forms in which journaling can take - just like how expression can be with words, colors, marks, movement in dance, cooking… the list is endless. I guess the commenters were expressing their art form through comments and opinions 😂 I think it’s always such a personal thing - a journal for study of course is diffferent - I would have called it study notes 🤷🏻♀️ for artists to practice it’s a sketchbook, but many junk journal or creative journalalers are doing it for the process really… for fun. I don’t really like to rain on people’s parade ultimately… again I think it’s all so personal and very hard to have some black and white judgement of what is right or wrong or whatever! But then again I think people just like to comment and make drama sometimes 😂 Thanks for sharing your thoughts, very interesting.

Hi!😊 I really enjoyed this video! Your pages look very pretty and I enjoy your decorating style. I wish I thought to turn my washi vertically more, it looks really nice! I am so excited for that Stickii pack because of your sticker sheet! I got mine and have already used one of your stickers in my 2025 planner setup and the sticker just melted into the hobonichi paper, it feels so nice!🥰 I feel that journaling is such a personal experience that there isn’t really a right or wrong so much as a what you need from it and what you get out of it. For me personally, I need a plain notebook to write in every day that’s just pen to paper, where I can be honest with myself about my feelings, without trying to cover up a rough day/subject with a cute sticker (because it wouldn’t help me to avoid things by using a sticker but I also know if I allowed myself to, there would be times I would want to avoid things by using a cute sticker) but I also have several journals when I can collage and paint and express myself or capture a memory in any medium that I want/need to. It reminds me of a quote about the different paths up the mountain and the only one who wastes their time is the one running around the mountain telling everyone their path is wrong, there are many ways to journal and maybe stickers aren’t a waste of time, but telling everyone stickers are wrong is the waste of time. I really enjoyed hearing your perspective and points on these topics, it was interesting to think about. Thank you so much for this video, I truly enjoyed it! Let's say someone was feeling really passionate about reducing overconsumption in the journaling or planner community, why not make content about how to be still creative and colorful with your planner with only pen and markers? That way you can act on what you feel passionate about, without simply judging people.
Yes I think that is very sad that people other because they used stationary in their journals but everyone do what they want and there are free to do whatever they want and if that’s make us happy 😃 why judging them . I love stationary and I am trying to be careful also to what I bought and sometimes we can’t express something on the pages by word but only by images and like words images have a lot of power !

I was going through my Hobonichi Cousin pre-decorating the next week where I had already used my varied alphabet stickers to put in the days of the week. I decided to use my Pop pack stickers from Stickii Club to decorate them. I was so surprised you had Stickii also. Congratulations on your cute sticker contribution. I always enjoy the variety of creators they choose to offer us so many cute stickers. I also love the little patchwork pieces. BTW: judgy people spend too much time looking at other people’s “faults” when they should concentrate on their own lives.
So glad we were able to decorate our journals "together" ;) I agree, Stickii Club is such a good way to get to know new artists and it is very cool of them to create such a variety of stickers with their packs.

I'm a big fan of stickers in journaling. But what I have always found strange is people do no white space planning in something like an Erin Condren and pay $35+ a week on sticker kits. Insane.
That seems like a major financial commitment to me. Personally I have also found that I feel uncomfortable with the thought that i can't journal about an experience, if I don't have the matching sticker for it. As much as I like stickers, at that point I feel a bit too beholden to it.
Of course comics is media! Its just a visual one! Like, what did she think it was then? Ugh people... And of course, we should journal in whatever way works and in a way we like. Some is better with words, some might want to express their thoughs and ideas through pictures and skeches and art.
Yeah I was blown away by that story. I don't think my husband had the nerve at that moment to start a debate with the post office lady :D Comics have always been thought of less than, which I don't understand. But that is a whole rant in and of itself :D
Totally agree on the overconsumption is bad, but also, as long as we dont harm anyone, you know, id rather buy a sticker sheet or two than spending that extra money on smoking/drinking/gambling or whatever. I must admit, I don't know the carbon footprint of the stationery industry, but if you're, like you said, actually using your stationery and are a conscious consumer of it, I'm sure that it's one of the least "offensive" hobbies out there. And you're right, no harm done.
