I think the journaling I did based on this prompt has been one of the most helpful I've done all year! I really appreciate how thoughtful your prompts always are!
Thank you for sharing all your lovely journals! I love your character, Hattie! She may be for your illustrated book that you've mentioned, but I think it would be so fantastic if some of your brainstorm characters show up in some of your Collage Club as friends or "supporting characters" 😻 They are so charming! I love the anthropomorphic (sp?) friends stories like Frog & Toad! It reminds me of reading with my kids when they were young ❤ And i can relate with your love of fabrics. I cannot sew, but fabrics and feeling the textures and patterns definitely satisfies some sort of artsy, creative side in me as well!
You're the best Aileen! Your comment warms my heart. And it makes me so happy that you love Hattie! And yes, I am working on a comic for kids with her as the main character...at least that's the plan :) And I'll see if I can get some of those cuties to join the cats :) Books like Frog & Toad are totally my jam!
I had a hobonichi weeks before 2019. I felt confined after a while, so I switched to my standard sized TN. This year I'm trying the weeks again in a Navy plain cover. I love seeing your work! Happy Thanksgiving!
The TN is a nice option to size up, but keep some of the feel of the Weeks. If you don't mind sharing, I'd be curious to hear what drew you back to the Weeks for next year. I just love hearing people's thoughts on their notebooks :)
Thank you so much for sharing your journals. Love your cat illustrations, wish I could order different merchandise, like cards, notebooks, mugs, buttons, bags etc with them:)
Beautiful journals ❤ enjoyed watching :) I love how your weeks looks and like the idea of using the back pages for extra journaling if need to. Its a lovely size to carry around xx
Oh my gosh! I had no idea that you lived in the Bluegrass region (at least I'm kind of assuming you do since you mentioned natural bridge.) I grew up in Eastern Kentucky in a little town about an hour away from Lexington. I spent a lot of time in Richmond too as a teenager. I straight up thought you lived in Germany! hehe. Have you tried Ale-8 One yet? It's a popular local soft drink in the area. Some people love it, some hate it! I personally really love it, it's like a super strong ginger ale - and they do lovely seasonal flavors like Blackberry or Peach. It's funny, that soda feels like home to me, and one day I was on a road trip and I happened to pass by a lady who had a tattoo of an Ale-8 One Soda bottle and it made me homesick! Haha.
Yes, I've been living in the Bluegrass for about 4 years now. My husband is from here. And I love Ale 8 - so refreshing! I think I've tried their cherry flavor, but have yet to give the peach or blackberry a go, though that's sounds yummy too! A tattoo of an Ale 8, now that's a superfan right there :D But yeah, I can totally relate to random things one encounters making one homesick.
I’m so glad that prompt was helpful! I’m going to be talking a good bit more on that topic because it’s so meaningful to me. 😊
