Question....in the UK if you have a car but not actually using it but it's parked on the roadside I presume that it still has to be taxed insured and MOT? Here in France if it's not all three then they tow it away and you are heavily fined and points as well as a lot of points on your licence.

are you really as stupid as you sound??? police officers are tied to very strict rules and regulations, the moment they do some minor thing that goes against those rules and regulations they'll be placed on desk-duty until investigation is completed... if it turns out that he crossed those lines willfully and consciously he'll either be on desk-duty for life without ever dealing with the public, or he'll be booted from the force... once you've been placed under arrest you're not allowed to use a phone until you've been booked in at a police station and all formalities have been wrapped up, only then are you allowed a single phone call from a station phone... if you comply at least... if you start kicking off the cops will make the call for you... just do what the cops tell you to do and no 'abuse of power' will be necessary...

Makes no difference. You cannot be inside a motor vehicle period. Even keys in the boot would be enough. Being in charge of a motor vehicle while under the influence of drink and drugs still applies.
So It’s ok to break the law if you can get a prosecution, I fully understand that the child should have been in a correctly fitted child seat showing a CE CERTIFICATE, but what sort of person are you. To continue carrying that young child purely and utterly out of malice, and the chance to earn reward points for a prosecution.

What are the child car seat laws in the UK? Here in America, children under a certain age and weight must be riding in the back seat in an approved car seat. Infants must be in backwards-facing seats up to a certain age; these laws vary by states. IIRC, here in California children under the age of 12 have to ride in the back seat.
Uh its more height based than anything else in the UK. They are supposed to be in seats, usually in the back but they can go in the front as long as the seat is facing the front of the car (so the kid can see out of the window and won't get crushed by the airbag). If a child is over 4ft 5 they don't need a booster seat or a car seat of any kind.

Got himself nicked for cannabis possession just because he wanted his cigarettes from his car. They wont allow him to smoke at the scene and custody is No Smoking these days so he wouldn't have got to smoke until he gets processed & released.

This argument about cannabis growing is really flawed when the grower claims it doesn't harm people is a fallacy. Listen to almost any serious crime such as domestic violence or serious assault of any kind and cannabis is part of the equation. Yes it helps people with certain illnesses and might be able to mellow some people, like any substance you won't know until you use it whether it will have more side effects such as aggression or iit chills someone out and makes them more susceptible to other substances such as alcohol and even harder drugs that are very addictive. It's a slippery slope from experimenting with it to using it with alcohol or any other more dangerous drugs. As a female it reduces your sense of danger and can lead to rape and murder because it makes it easier for people to slip Rohypnol or other things.
