- Welcome to my channel. I'm Emma, a 31 year old mum of two and first time allotment holder! This is a day in the life vlog, documenting family life and a visit to the allotment with the kids. I also drag my husband there, much to his dismay... I mean delight! Haha!

I've been watching several of your videos since finding your channel. Decided to go back to the beginning lol... nice dance break lol. I'm sure that sweet hamster has passed now but I'm a huge hamster care person and... here is for any future hamsters you may get lol... that cage is wayyyyy too small for hammys. They need really big spaces and lots of deep bedding to be able to burrow in. I had hamsters when I was younger and then a few years back I decided I wanted another... started watching videos to prepare for the cuteness, right? Discovered all my hamster knowledge was totally wrong and I started to feel bad for past hammys lmao. We've moved into a bigger house but oddly the rooms are all smaller so I don't have the space for my 75 gallon tank anymore, thus, no more hamsters for a while. Sad. Even that is too small for my liking but it's a lot better than what most people are able to provide their tiny floofs, so I got lucky finding that on marketplace for way cheap. I'm a determined (no, stubborn more like) person so I'll probably rearrange all the furniture one day just to be able to have my hamster tank again lol. Sorry this was a big ramble for such a tiny part of this video but... I wouldn't be myself if I didn't mention the small cage and then ramble about how much I love hamsters, like a heckin weirdo. ANYWAY... adore your videos... gonna go watch some more while one of my kittens snuggles in my lap lol.
You are so so right! This was a few years ago now, but I’ve since read the exact same things! I have a house rabbit now called pippin and he has no cage or hutch of any kind. He just runs free in our house. I will never have another animal that doesn’t have sufficient space, it’s something I’m quite passionate about now. But like yourself, I was bought up with lots of hamsters and guinea pigs in smaller cages. I think (hope) a lot of people are now realising what a mistake this is. I’d love to make some videos on this, but not sure how well they would go down. I want to share with everyone I can to be honest. Can’t believe they sell small cages in pet shops still (especially for rabbits!!!).
As you can see, I can rant about it for hours. I think maybe we should be friends 😂☺️
@@emmasallotmentdiaries I have absolutely zero garden skills but youtube started recommending I watch allotment videos. I'm in the states... we don't have allotments lol. But I think they knew I've been trying to clear out weeds and overgrowth in our backyard and have no idea what I'm doing. Lots of digging, mostly lol. Pippin was on my list to name one of our new kittens! I went with Finnegan, though. Rabbits are so cute. I'd love guinea pigs but I just know the space and attention and care they need is not for me... so I just watch videos of the furry potatoes lol. I can understand not making a video about the topic, as you're mostly gardening related and people can be picky lol. Best I can do for people when I see an issue is send them to youtubers that are related to the topic, that have proper info. And apparently I will adopt if needed haha. My last hamster (Oakley) was in the smallest heckin cage with a couple of tubes that he barely fit into. He was a big floofy boy. He tried so hard to use his wheel but that was the smallest thing I'd ever seen! He ended up being the best hamster I'd ever owned, omg. Such a heckin sweetheart. He got my mom to pet him and she's afraid of rodents! Even the boyfriend pet him lol. Oakley was the bestest boy. Oof... must resist rearranging everything to try and fit in space for another hammy! Our kittens are pure heckin chaos goblins, too, so who the heck knows if a hamster would survive... yikes, can't think of it! haha. Sorry for this even longer comment...
