    Hm, that video somehow didn’t deliver on the title. I don’t know anything about the differences after watching to the end and I also didn’t hear anything really about your experience going up in price range.
    Was still interesting to watch just not what I had hoped for.

      Agreed, I was hoping to learn more about what makes an "advanced" or "expert" riser different from a beginner or intermediate riser. How do they feel, how do they shoot, what's the experience like, what are the real accuracy differences before you attach all the accessories, just shooting barebow?

    Saw a uuraka riser on the Lancaster archery supply website today for $1,049.99 without shipping or limbs.... The limbs were $999.99, I was blown away at the cost. The best(top end) Hoyt and Win&Win Risers are $799.99 with the limbs being the same price... Damn Top end Archery is expensive, but a small price to pay for a trip too the Olympics. The bow doesn't make the shot, the Archer does, but high end equipment helps with consistency. Good luck on the Olympic trials

      When comparing other sports and the price of high-end equipment used in the olympics, archery is actually pretty affordable. Not cheap, but 4000$ for the whole olympics setup is not a bad price-tag.

    Just asking if you ordered it online and it came with limbs would you be able to choose the draw weight? I’m just starting and I need a 30 pound draw weight to shoot 50 meters

    • @shoreshotarchery

      If you order a riser that comes with limbs. They should either tell you the weight the limbs come or let you choose the weight from a list of available limb weights before you place the order

      You don't have to buy the most expensive equipment to have a good time. Just look for bows that are in you budget. Then you can enjoy shooting the shot and now how much that bow to make that shot cost you🏹🎯

    These days it seems like a waste of money to buy a cheap bow. The main reason is the active resell market. Buying first riser at $400, it's quite easy to sell it for $300 a year later if "you give up on your shooting dreams". The market does not develop that fast when it comes to new products. Also - BUY SECOND HAND - it's best way to get hands on the better stuff from the start :)

    • @shoreshotarchery
      @shoreshotarchery  2 роки тому +1

      @@shoreshotarchery I saw this message just now, but I'm glad you said what you did! Earlier today at the pro shop I bought a $180 magnesium riser and $150 limbs and they were nice enough to add a metal arrow rest and a plunger (they are more affordable ones, not like Beiter or anything). Overall it cost me only about $380 out of pocket and I have something I can shoot with everyday.

    I currently have a cheap riser and limbs, I wonder is there a noticeable difference scorewise between cheap and expensive riser and limbs? What makes a bigger difference a good riser or good limbs? Thanks.

    • @davidblowe9096

      Limb's.

    • @shoreshotarchery
      @shoreshotarchery  7 років тому +1

      Unless your riser is too small for you limbs are much more important that a riser. You should feel and see a speed difference between old limbs and a brand new set.

    • @davidblowe9096
      @davidblowe9096 7 років тому +1

      It is kind of a loaded question & without knowing what the set up is it's hard to answer because there are so many variables with recurve bow's.

    • @jameshucklesby99
      @jameshucklesby99 7 років тому

      riser geometry or deflection of the riser is important as well, a Hoyt gmx is different to a gpx for example which significantly different to a win&win inno. riser geometry can have a significant impact on holding poundage and shot stability too. good video.

    • @davidblowe9096
      @davidblowe9096 7 років тому

      Arrow's are another major factor, I went and did some practice this morning, concentrating on form more than score, the group's went from 7 ring to 9 ring when I swapped from powerflight's to acc.

    Hi, please, differences between 27 inch vs 25 inch?

    • @shoreshotarchery
      @shoreshotarchery  7 років тому +2

      +Dusmile Lemus the difference between 25 & 27 is mostly for the size of the archer. I am 6 foot & use a 25. My brother is 6 foot 4 & uses a 27. He needs to 27 beacuse of his height. The 27 also has a bigger sight window then the 25. Other then that they are the same.

      Shore Shot Archery i had been using the GMX for the last three years and picked up a nice second hand FRX really cheap to try out. instally fwll in love with it. felt it to be lighter akthought it was hard to judge as the GMX was a 25" with long limbs while the FRX is 27" medium limbs. i have sonced picked up a 25" Prodigy RX. trying to keep with the reflex design along with some nice Quattro limbs hopefully trying to step it up a notch.

I like lower draw weights because I can shoot for a long time. Actually the bows i want arn't super high end. I want a Gillo G1 Left hand and G2 right hand for barebow shooting.

    As a beginner archer, this video did not help me at all. 10minutes of rambling and maybe 1minute of info. What should i look for in a riser? Do they all come with button, sights, and stabilizer mounts? Do $500 riser have more modifications than $200 ones. Is it just the material that gets better with price, or does function as well?

    • @shoreshotarchery
      @shoreshotarchery  6 років тому +4

      Most should come with button, sights, and stabilizer mounts. A $500 riser should have more and ore easier adjustment options and should be a better build quality. A $200 riser is still a good riser and can be made well. It many come with all the adjustments you need to set it up or it might not it depends. Basically you want to start with an affordable riser that gives you options to grow.

    SHURE SHOT ARCHERY NOT SHORE

  • @rctrix9063
    @rctrix9063 Рік тому

    Do archers buy better bows as they improve and how wood you know if you have improved or the bow was just better. If the bow was better why buy the cheap bow. Sounds like intentionally frustrating yourself or conning yourself, one or the other.

    • @graxtheswampgoblinarchmage5356
      @graxtheswampgoblinarchmage5356 6 місяців тому

      I'm a beginner, just starting, but from my understanding something like 95% of your growth will be in your skill. As you spend more time with archery you will likely find your muscles growing and likely upgrade to higher weight limbs, so it would be a waste to have also bought expensive limbs that you outgrew. Also as a beginner you won't really have a preference or knowledge about options, so it would be pointless to spend a lot of money on a bow to find that it isn't perfectly suited to your body and style, where if you've spent time in the sport you will likely have seen a wider variety of equipment being used, maybe trying other people's bows and you will adapt and develop your style. Also as a beginner, you may even find that you lose interest in the sport, and good luck getting your money back for used expensive equipment, you may just find it sitting around and regret the cost.

    I am a beginner and planned on just going for a 600-700USD Riser. Exp. as beginner you profit from the best technology: A really well constructed bow has the lessest negative impact on the shooter, so the shot is felt to the highest purity. -> by this, learning should be quicker in my thought, aswell as I do not generate negativ habbits. I disliked your video because of this - in my feeling - neurose whom you are and whom you want to be. Your so called "just recreational brother" may have the same interest as you, me or many other in the best gear. So who cares for that display of yourself and the phrase that "you need to develope". Stick to the facts - and of these, I just heared a few. I wished you would announce interesting side facts what to consider, maybe some good deal - but your idea was different. I think I will stick to my idea and go with some 1000USD Setup. If I dont like it, it´s still worthing the same when I am selling it again. On the other hand, if I like it, I see no more investments for 10 years ore so on the riser... In my opinion the only matter in what bow to buy is your price tag. It´s like everywhere: Research for the low, mid and high sectors. Take your price tag and see that you rather decide for the next higher categorie rather than the lower, for example go with "mid -" rather than with "low+" sector. With this Idea in mind, I would go to some bow shop and present it and than listen to them. Maybe they got a better solution, so I spend a few dollars on top for their service. If I still want to go with my idea, I can, but under care of the shop who makes some dollars for living aswell by purchasing the bow there and than having it adjusted/fine tuned with me maybe watching while that.
