They have to reach a positive solution in their process or else this band will come to an end. The fact of not having acceptance and reconciliation with their past and with their previous members continues to affect them
There doesn't really seem to be any bad blood between them these days, when Tuomas's father passed away she got in contact with him and I think they send Christmas cards and the like. Friends, perhaps not but I think the hatchet is buried so to say.
Not really. According to Tarja, they exchange emails here and there, presumably mostly regarding royalties and stuff. She also sent him condolences when his father died, but from what I've read, she got over the dismissal, but also has no interest in friendship. The dismissal was really cruel.
@Neece Lonewolf there's nothing paradoxical about what I'm saying this comes from Tuomas himself, I can't speak to the accuracy of the other person's comment, but OP asked if they were friends and my response is taken, granted not verbatim, from the man himself. Also I have no hate towards Tarja at all so there's no inherent bias in anything i said, but you seem to be awfully pissed about what was said seemingly with not much to back it. I know at least that they worked on Crewish and enjoyed it, but that didn't go against anything I said here. As for being a so called fan, I've been with them from the start through every line up change and loved all members past and present and would appreciate you not belittling that. Edit: I may have misunderstood you might be aiming that at the other fellow not me and if that's the case I apologise.
I had no idea Tarja was fired, I was under the impression cuz of stuff I'd seen and read, that she and the band separated on good and mutual terms cuz she wanted to pursue her solo stuff
It’s still on UA-cam if you pull up her address speech of her of being fired after a show where they all played together as if there wasn’t a problem… It’s awful to watch her crying her eyes out giving a 15 minute speech to the press.

Nah they're just taking a long break after this new record, they won't be touring the new record cycle presumably to focus on personal life stuff, especially with Floor having a second kid on the way. Definitely no word of a break up though.
No. It's the parasocial "fans" saying that. They all have lives and bands outside of Nightwish. As you get older other things take more of a priority. I also think losing band members due to heavy touring might've finally woken Tuomas up to taking a break. They're not young anymore.
@@NeeceLoneWolf Very truth, but, maby some influence of not touring is the "state" in the world at this moment, don't forget, they already missed out of touring in,China,Ukraine,Russia and maby some other countries with big fanbases also.I can imagen they want to wait with touring to see if "things" get better. They are getting older ,but they are not that old,Tuomas =46, Floor= 42,Kai=49,Jukka=41,Emppu=44,Troy the oldest=59.Some other metal bands have a higher ,average age,and are stil touring,so in my opinion ,they have stil some good years left. She hasn't. The band is touring summer festivals now and they will also have two big shows here in Finland. Then in July they will start their traditional summer camp where they rehearse and rearrange songs for the new album. :)
Nightwish was..before tarja...and they still are without her. She was only a member ...not the composer. If she had been smart she wouldnt have been fired. @@aeonspeace6995 I believe what they say. The band has only talked about a break or a hiatus. I'm not gonna make it anything bigger than it is, because that would be disrespectful. :) Nightwish is not the only band their crew works for. Whenever the band has taken a break between tours and albums their crew members have been working for other people. That's what they are gonna do after Human Nature tour ends. :) The pandemic took all their work away, not just the work they do for Nightwish. According to Marko, Nightwish helped their crew by paying them some bonus money so no-one would lose their house. The crew decided to form Crewish for fun and for earning a little extra cash. It never was a big source of money, even though every single penny went to the crew. Tuomas didn't want to receive any payments or royalties, he let Crewish have all the money. :)
@stephensdygert7600 Agreed! Kind of stupid to fire someone because of jealousy. And that's what that loser Tuomas did. He was jealous of Tarja because she chose Marcelo over him as a romantic partner so he fired her.
@@johnpolitis7929 Acording to Tarja, when the band first started, they all agreed, there would be no romantic relationships with her. It never works, look at Heart in the early days of the band, also Fleetwood Mac, Evanescence Amy Lee, the list goes on.
@@stephensdygert7600 first of all i prefer female musicians over models as i reject the hypermasculine trophy wife toxic masculinity gender roles. So these people are saying men should not marry women to be equal to them or with similar interests. Yes, it can work. Look at Pat Benatar and her husband guitarist in the same band who have been married to each other for 40-50 years, for example. The problem is male egos, not having romantic relationship of someone with the same interest. For me, I would do this as a political statement against toxic masculinity and gender roles that men always have to be with a female that is different or lesser status than themselves. That is why I would rather go with a female musician than a supermodel. "The personal is political"(Charlene Spretnak). My lifestyle is a political statement against the evil oppressive patriarchy and macho jerks and insensitive men.
@@johnpolitis7929 Pat and Neil dated and married from day one, really before they put the band together, Neil was playing in Rick Derringer's band. Day one, when Pat met Neil, she said in her heart(interview) I'm going to marry this guy. They were married really before they had a cohesive, professional, successful band. It was love at first sight, type of thing.
@@stephensdygert7600 I disagree with what you said. Tuomas treated Tarja with disrespect regardless of employment. He neglected her needs, etc. It was his ego, not the relationships between musicians at fault. Also, Tarja and Tuomas were incompatible in many ways and the breakup would have occurred even if they were not in a band together. People with similar interests often have better relationships than different interests. I want someone similar to myself, not different.
1 - Boy loves girl. 2 - Boy creates a band for girl. Tries to tell girl he loves her in song lyrics. 3 - Girl doesnt give a shit and marries a guy with an afro. 4 - Members picked it up, but kept on while it was good music, "all art comes from suffering". 5 - Boy loves another girl, music becomes boring, drummer and bassist give up. 6 - Boy now uses band to not have to get a day job and make more money than one. That is all. (Oh! And throught the process becomes alcoholic, makes a project 1000x times better then Nightwish ( For My Pain ) but, it has no p*ssy, so it doesnt matter, dumps it).
Now you cannot even make a video ABOUT a band USING THE BANDS music. You get demonitezed and locked away. So absurd this "stock youtube music" that has nothing to do... Also, this shows that "creators" just want money.
I don't know what drama went around inside the band but letting go of Miss Tarja was the worst mistake ever. Sure , their records after firing Tarja were still fire, and the vocalists after her were crazy awesome as heck, don't get me wrong, but Tarja had the VOICE , VISUAL and PERSONA, with Tarja, Nightwish was just Magic, their music had a soul. Forever Tarja & Marko , Tarja is simply angel and queen of symphonic metal music..
❤️l love Nightwish
❤️Nightwish is awesome with Floor Jansen❤️
Well done sir! I only discovered Nightwish recently but have become totally mesmerized! Floor Jansen is amazing! ❤️ New subscriber here! 😎
Great information. Well done!
just goes to show how important great writing is.
My Queen summoned me, whom I serve Floorever!
I discovered Nightwish long after Tarja was gone but I can only watch them with her opera trained voice. She was also gorgeous to look at. What a shame they split the parts..
Nice summary. Cheers
🤘😎🤘
they also were in Eurovision 2000 representing Finland with Sleepwalker
Thanks, greetings from Colombia
I am late to this bands party, 2005 I think, they came up om a Rapacity Dream Theater playlist,
since them they have been on the top of a lot of play list, the sound the emotion the energy
has just captivated me to no end, DVD's CD and the records i have picked up, YA they get played A LOT,
Damn GOOD band , nice video thank you,
favorite song?........Ever Dream.....Whats yours?
a shame that the vast majority of the population in France never ever heard of them. I doubt that just one of their song ever made it to the radio... anyway, fantastic band !
Great review
Well done summary video!
Whats the background song in this video?
A nice potted history. Don’t know about pronunciation of Finnish names but Goddess Floor is Yansen, even if spelled Jansen.
Yep. Guy nailed the Finnish names (well, he IS Finnish, most likely) but then comes this "Fleur Jeansen" again. It's starting to annoy me.
@@noneofyerbeeswax8194Calm down I’m pretty sure Floor isn’t bothered by it. Some people make mistakes and shouldn’t be such a bother to you. Work on yourself.
Quite refreshing to hear perfect pronunciation of Finnish names and butchering someone else's name.
Having been fortunate enough to see Nightwish with every singer, Tarja was on a whole other level. Her vocals are some of the best I've ever heard from any vocalist. It's such a shame it didn't work out with her and Nightwish.
Century Child was released in 2002, not 2000.
❤️
I just wonder after all the mess with anette leaving or whatever and getting floor to join, when and how did tuomas brain start to partying when floor got up to speed. That must have been amazing to listen to for him.He got the jackpot.Marko stings a bit though.
Nice pronanciation of Finnish names! Almost like you were native
Haha well he is 😅
What is the name of the song playing in the end of the video, pls help me
Spinefarm did not signed them right away. They INSISTED and followed the label and asked "pretty please, throw away other bands cds and listen to ours!".
Thank you for this video, I hope it serves to stop some of the rumors that Tuomas "settled" for Anette because Floor wasn't available. NW has had a lot of drama over the years and crazed fans do nothing to help calm the situation
Nightwish ❤
All hale the REAL TRUE QUEEN 👑 of NIGHTWISH and of ALL FEMALE SYMPHONIC METAL SINGERS!!!, the very beautiful looking and very unique voice the enchanting TARJA!!!😀👍👍🤘

End of an Era is my all time favorite DVD. The band in my opinion Nightwish was at their peak from 2002 to 2005....no offense to Floor fans.
the peak was wacken 2013 , sorry tarja fans .
@@fredverkerk838 imitating another singer is what you call their peak? Name one great song after Tarja left Nightwish. They still are playing songs made famous with Tarja. Floor is nothing more then a cover singer in Nightwish.
No different then Journey w/o Steve Perry, Kamelot w/o Roy Khan, Queensryche w/o Geoff Tate.

@Ashrain Colder, by End of the Dream. It is a really good song.

@@ashrain6235 So, I just finished checking out all of their music. It turns out I did know two more of their songs. The two albums they released are definitely both fantastic and worth a listen in their entirety. Unfortunately, they have not released any music since 2017.
I'm so sad that they are on a live pause after their 23 tour.
I'm sure they will be back at some point after Floor has her baby 😉
I agree, even though i have already seen them twice i can never get enough from them
Its normally the drummers that get replaced.😁

They have to reach a positive solution in their process or else this band will come to an end. The fact of not having acceptance and reconciliation with their past and with their previous members continues to affect them

JANSEN not djensen or what you saying
Come on not fair interviewing my favorite people on the planet also I have an important question "Are Thoumas and Tarja still friends?" thanks
@@Pravdacz-tp8zuthey worked on Crewish dvmb dvmb. Go outside.
Don't listen to these so called fans being parasocial.
They worked on Crewish the Nightwish roadie project.
OH AH AH HO AH AH HO AH AH HO AH AH
I had no idea Tarja was fired, I was under the impression cuz of stuff I'd seen and read, that she and the band separated on good and mutual terms cuz she wanted to pursue her solo stuff
It’s still on UA-cam if you pull up her address speech of her of being fired after a show where they all played together as if there wasn’t a problem… It’s awful to watch her crying her eyes out giving a 15 minute speech to the press.

Are they gonna split up😢
Nah they're just taking a long break after this new record, they won't be touring the new record cycle presumably to focus on personal life stuff, especially with Floor having a second kid on the way.
Sure, touring takes its toll when you get older, but Floor already said on her solo tour that she want's to go on,we will see, hopefully next year we wil get some more insight's what is going to happen.😉🤘
Yes they are. But not just yet.

Love her voice too but Floor isnt going to get herself fired. Floor even toured pregnant. Tarja f'd up hurting only herslf...and maybe a few fans feelings. But nightwish is bigger and better because of it.

@@lekalla after a long long pandemic break, I don’t know
@@aeonspeace6995 If they didn't take a break their schedule would look something like this:
- Finish the Human Nature tour by the end of June
- Start working on the new album in July
- Record the drums, the bass and some of the guitars starting in August/September
- Record the vocals
- Record the orchestra and choir parts
- Record the rest of the band instruments
- Mixing
- Mastering
- Finishing the album's artwork
- Shooting the music videos
- Photoshoots
- Promoting the album before the release by doing lots of interviews
- Releasing the album
- Promoting the album after the release by doing lots of interviews
- Band members rehearsing the songs at their own homes
- Band rehearsing the songs together before the tour starts
Not to mention that they would have to start planning the stage production at some point, which takes months. There also might be some steps and phases that I forgot to mention.
All this in less than a year, and then they would start a new tour that lasts another 1,5 - 2 years. When would they have time to rest properly and recharge their batteries? I understand people's love for the band, but it's not worth burning people out. :)
@@SilverCreek24 belive what you want, you will see, Tuomas made the demo of the new album long time ago, so… he wants to make it true, that’s it, the nightwish crew made crewish because with the pandemic they didn’t have job/money so you think they need more of this?
@@aeonspeace6995 I believe what they say. The band has only talked about a break or a hiatus. I'm not gonna make it anything bigger than it is, because that would be disrespectful. :)
Nightwish is not the only band their crew works for. Whenever the band has taken a break between tours and albums their crew members have been working for other people. That's what they are gonna do after Human Nature tour ends. :)
The pandemic took all their work away, not just the work they do for Nightwish. :)

Firing Tarja is the dumbest decision ever made, in the history of contemporary music.
Accurate, still, the band raised the bar not only in metal, but in music in general. I will tell my grandchildren about this band.
Lol, the way they "fired" Tarja and Anette was so toxic.... as much as I like their music, this boys club treats women like trash.
Nightwish ya no es nightwish desde que se marchó tarja y marco
