I removed the AHC system and replaced it with a conventional OME suspension with 3 inch lift and it did not impact ride comfort, but gave me a conventional suspension that will take a beating offroad. After 10 years with our 2000 LX470 I am having pains considering selling it to pay off the Tundra we picked up. Such a nice ride and even after 20 years holds up to anything on or off-road.
As dated as it may be, I really like the warm classic look of the wooden trim and center stack of this version of the LX. The facelift version looks bland imo.
I am in Aus, purchased a 2001 Lx470 with 260,000 kays, love it.The AHC is brilliant, it had all been replaced just before I purchased the vehicle, but the main thing is keep it serviced like the rest of the car and because these things are so well made it will give many years of trouble free ownership, only negative is they do like a drink, but mine has been converted to LPG and in Aus it cuts the fuel cost in half, gotta love that !!
@@Notinserviceij The gas system in mine is Dutch called Prins, runs on petrol for 15 min before changing over to gas , don’t know if that helps the head situation, the gas has only been on for 60,000 Kay’s so hopefully get a good run out of it.
@@warrenhaywood8425 trust me I hope it's fine for you I'm looking at LC's at the moment and the amount of sellers I have messaged who don't know anything about their servicing of the gas system and even their car is driving me nuts
@@Notinserviceij just had my system serviced by a gas specialist, he said the Prins system is the rolls Royce of gas systems so hope fully get a decent run out of it but as I said previously Love the car and If had to rebuild the head and do the valves no big deal but at the moment running perfectly and I did get it for a really good price just before COVID hit and 4wheel drive prices went through the roof.
Nice and informative video. Very good clean LX specimen you're sporting there Sir. The HVAC controls not integrated in the touch screen is actually pre 2003. 2001-02 had the first style of touchscreen then quickly changed in 2003-2006. My family currently has two 2000 LXs, 2004 LX, 2006 LX and '99 Land Cruiser (and two '96 LXs). And have own several more LXs and LCs like these. My most recent purchase was a cashmere beige metallic just like yours. The LX/LCs are excellent vehicles to say the least. Based on my experiences driving these beasts since 1996, I can't imagine there is another vehicle built on earth that is a better designed, more reliable and cost less to own (not new).
Dude actually really cool and inspiring! you made some nice points about the rig and some I still melt over every time I get in and out of my 100 series toyota. I will be making a video within the next few weeks on my current outfit. Got my 03 in August and have slowly been rebuilding suspension/old parts. Add-ons hopefully soon lol. Happy cruising!
My mom had this car for about 20 years but we’ve gotten rid of it a few years ago and now we are in an argument that there was an indicator for when the driver/ passenger isn’t wearing a seatbelt. So you know if there is some kinda light that blinks?
Yup! Replaced them a few weeks after filming this video, thanks for the tip! Appreciate you watching as well. Hope you'll subscribe for my upcoming Land Rover rig video coming in 2 weeks. -Ben
You inspired me to get a lexus. I recent brought a 02 Lexus Lx470 with only 140k. There are a few problems I need to get second opinion on the cause. 1. The car makes a cluck sound as it decelerates. It up shifts very smooth. Trans fluid looks good (darkred). What do you think the cause is? 2. This might be related to issue 1, when shifting between R to D there is a massive cluck or a kick. Your input on what the issues maybe will he greatly appreciated.
I have a 99 with 237,000 going strong, same issue, I took it to a friend of mine, he helped me check the slip yoke drive shafts, they might need grease. Just barely bought it so 2 months ago. And has that clunk noise when I shift from park to drive or to reverse.
Nice ride and the seats look mint. You may want to consider a seat cover behind any kid’s seats you install to prevent damage with discoloration to leather. My 05 has damage from previous owner’s. Thanks for the content.
@@stephenboykin4958 That is awesome to hear! Any modifications done on your LX? Any big headaches you had past the 150,000 mile mark? Appreciate you watching Stephen!

Did you make any videos of your 100 series?
How do these do with car seats in the second row? Is it roomy or pretty tight?
Love this! I have this exact car but I’m Metallica blue! And I never knew the seats can recline like that in the back 😊

I love the luxury of GX and LX but a loaded Sequoia is not too far off and quite bigger
Good morning, brother. I am looking for one. Is the car for sale?
Good morning this one is not for sale
Hello dear friend I want it for business in Dubai
How much?
what the crappen, i've got a 100 series gxl in australia it doesn't have any fangdangle buttons like that
Niceee, always wanted one of these. Not sure about the longevity of those air suspension though.
It’s hydraulic actually! Unlike my Cayenne which was air.
My LX 470 has 300,000 miles in the hydraulic suspension Works perfect along with everything else
