The guide pulley has a mounting direction or makes no difference? Tension pulley has an arrow that specify mounting direction but guide pulley doesn't. Thank You
I would swap the gear wheels for ceramic ones, they are dirt-resistant and don't need lubrication, so less dirt is attracted and the wheels last significantly longer.
@ATBOY...Do you know if the top jockey wheel (the one with the ceramic bushing) has more resistance when spining? My lower wheel spins freely, unlike the upper guide pulley. Is it supposed to be like this or do I need a new wheel. BTW, excellent videos!!
@@atboy4342 Thanks for replying bro. Correct, the upper wheel is ceramic bushing. Its not the bushing, as it spins freely when dismantled, plus there is no play. Seems to be the metal end caps, as there is markings from wear. Just want to check if its common on any of these models if you have them lying around xt M770 series or ULTEGRA 6770, 6600 Series
@@dd776 There is always side to side movement on the G pulley on shimano derailleurs. Don’t have those models new on me, but I got a XT M739 Nos, and it does that. They are consumables, just like the cassette, chain ,chainring etc.
what a design with that bold X in the middle. Iconic look.
I have this model on my bike. Works perfectly.

Think the top one didn’t have sealed bearings. Given these are 20 years old, they are probably a little bit worn out

*Hello, I have the same transmission, 9 gears, 11-46 teeth, will it work?*
*?*
I believe it will not work. I use a 11-40t 9 speed cassette and it works fine. I think this is the maximum the long cage derailleur can accommodate.
i need a video about the sram x7
I did a video on a older X7 and X9
