I had bought the same translucent yellow elastomer cylinder for a fork rebuild, but it turned out to be of way too hard material. It had hardness of something like 90 on Shore scale. It barely compressed under human weight. After some additional more careful search I found another elastomer specimen with hardness of 30 on Shore scale, and that one worked just fine.

I know I'm late to the party, but mini V's would work with these leavers. they do also make cantie cable guides that bolt to the seat post clamp, should help get the straddle cable off the tyre. :)

Using the allen key for leverage great idea, i just gave up with sore fingers trying to turn it. Tomorrow i ll try the allen key (although mine are a bit shorter)

The guide pulley has a mounting direction or makes no difference? Tension pulley has an arrow that specify mounting direction but guide pulley doesn't. Thank You

I had that screw come off and of course the spring as well... thanks for that tutorial would have been completely lost especially with that spring 🤣 - I just put some loctite on the screw to block it completely as those 4 edges don't see to do a good trick...

Beware, removing the long hex screw can break the internal threaded post. Found this out on 2 occasions.

I bought my Shimano XT M772 Shadow rear derailer back in 2009 ($190.00🍁). I'm st!ll using it today🤘🤘. I had to finally replace the pulleys in 2020 because they were really looking like "🥷⭐️s"😳😁. I had to go with Deore because Shimano had stopped making XT ones😭 lol. The XT ones had sealed bearings where the Deore's do not. Speaking of derailer pulleys, are these cool looking ones 7075 aluminum 👍👍, or the K❗️NG of metals 6/4 Titanium 🤘🤘

3 days later? Yikes. Mine are working, but probably need a good cleaning. I wonder if I can flush with white lightning, dry out w/ air compressor, then shoot tri-flow, it will be okay.

Heya man. Your tutorial helped me get back to working order a faulty 105 STI front shifter. The rears also stuck and on the very start i stripped the 2 mm hex bolt. What do you recommend me? To drill it out and use another one from a different brifter?

Thanks so much for this video, and for showing how you did the spring tensioning. Another trick that I used to make this easier was to drill (1/16") another spring insertion hole in the lever, closer to the attachment pin, so that the tensioning angle was a bit smaller (about 1/2 turn). This barely affected the "springiness", but made things quite a bit easier. Loosely attaching the mechanism to the lever, while leaving room to access the spring also makes it much easier

Great video, had some of the same issues with the hardened grease and cleaning it and re-lubricating it brought these back to life. I do have a broken plastic washer / spacer on the cable hook unit assembly (85Z 9802). Do you know of a replacement source for these?

Obrigado mais uma vez. Acabei de fazer manutenção no trocador esquerdo (shifter left) dx. Os clicks estavam lentos, e a mola da alavanca de retorno estava solta. Foi dificil para segurar a última mola (da alavanca maior) e prender com aquele flangeado grande e arruela de cobre.

Could you please provide a video on how to remove the brake lever blade for the Deore M563 series? Is it pressed into place or can it be removed for replacement? Thank you.
