I've worked out on traditional heavy bags ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxp9-sf95nqfjey-uyzxUzQ7m9MXRPK1BE a spherical stuffed "wrecking ball" bag, and now this thing. What I like about it is that it has the heft to stay largely in place so I'm not chasing it around. It's tall enough to allow for headshots and body shots, but it's short enough to give an uppercut somewhere to land. I'm very happy so far. Filling it was a bit of a cluster. For top-offs, I've learned that you can screw the supplied nozzle onto any basic plastic water bottle. I can't speak to durability as I've only had it a week.
Great video, I just started working out with a sandbag. I'm older and have a few injuries. This is the first sandbag workout I've seen that doesn't include something high-impact.
Bought mine a few weeks ago. Just used it watching your video. I thought 20 lbs. Big deal. Did that first round and it was a big deal. Liked it. Felt it. Will continue.
Continue practicing this and it will improve. Start adding more unilateral work into your training along with exercises to stabilize your shoulders and core. I highly recommend bear crawls.
All of these are effective moves, especially the woodchoppers, I do them often and I can tell you they work every muscle in the upper body! I actually made a sandbag of 50kg from a leather travel sack and two bags of construction cement of 25kg each. Doing overhead spins with that can get you yoked more than anything in the gym 👍 nice one
The sandbag is weight so it will definitely help to build strength. Now if you are using a sandbag that is too light for what you are able to work with, than it may be that you are getting more cardio benefit than strength building benefit.
Would something like this be good in conjunction with a powerlifting or strength training routine? I started back with sandbags, got up to the 200lb bags for squats, good mornings, shouldering etc I've been on a powerlifting linear progression program doing 5's on ohp, squats, deadlifts bench press dips pullups etc. I also do farmers and sandbag carries. I do 4 day splits, 2 upper, 2 lower And want to add this lighter sandbag circuits for conditioning. Any thoughts?
Try adding "strongman sandbag" to your search if you haven't already purchased one. Rogue makes round ones with no handles at 100-200lb (45 - 90kg) if you want to go real heavy.
For obliques and core workout a light sandbag is prefered, it’s nice to have something around 45% of your bodyweight for a polyvalent tool. You can look up bulgarian bag for grip or a strongman sandbag for strenght. For carry , try to stay around your bw for starter . I personally have a 12kg homemade bulgarian bag, a 35 kg homemade sandbag with handle and a 80 kg sandbag for carry i purchased on internet.
Dave Salsbury Anywhere from 1 to 3 times a week. The key is to not overdo but work on technique and improving your skills with each sandbag exercise. But I would still encourage other forms of activity like weight training, cardiovascular exercise etc.
I think I t s very good workout. but it lasts only 5 minutes. is it right? or do I have to do first circuit=reps&sets. 3 times each set? or is this enough?because it makes me breathe hard :) thanks
Great work out, question where did you get your sandbag? That bag you have looks a lot better than mine. Second my inserts only come in 20 pounds fo you know where to buy lighter inserts for the bag?
My thought also. I find it hard to take trainers serious when they start ditching shirts to explain a workout. It can’t be hot in there, you didn’t even break a sweat. Vanity is more like it would say. The routines are good though.

Good stuff! Keep it up 💪
I did 5 sets this morning with a 1000m row between each set. Pretty much perfect combination for me. Thanks for posting
Nice work!
Thankkk youuu. Been doing the bear squat but these really utilise it to the max without fear of throwing it on my shoulders
Great stuff. I've just purchased a sandbag, so definitely going to be following this! Also man, you look a bit like Vasyl Lomachenko. :)
Get after it!!
I have real difficulty with the alternating shoulder press, I find it hard to keep balance and you make it look so easy.
Continue practicing this and it will improve. Start adding more unilateral work into your training along with exercises to stabilize your shoulders and core. I highly recommend bear crawls.
Great exercises for me. Do-able!! Squats, not yet! Thanks.
New to this. How many sets of these exercises do you suggest?
That's awesome I will buy a sandbag for my home gym I will create a exercise plan which I wanna make thanks for the nice video am glad for this
Best of luck, Daniel! Let us know how it goes 👍
@@Criticalbench thanks can we write on Instagram man
Thanx for the Video.
Waitin for more

Be careful with cement dust, can do some damage to your lungs , ironic for cardio work. Sand is safer 🙂
I was today in decathlon I have buy a sandbag I will make a plan of exercises you are the best
That's the spirit, Daniel! Good luck!!
@@Criticalbench I have make 4 exercises like sandbag clean sandbag shovel wood choppers and the swing
Just brought a 20kg bag, sounds pathetic but it kicked my butt, never worked out before and only weigh 65kg myself, onwards and upwards I guess.
You got this! Keep at it!

Yeah absolutely my friend!
Nice to see instruction from a guy who's NOT on PE drugs.
💪
I never get it, why are sandbags always quite light? I'm looking to purchase one for at home, but i mostly see bags under 20 kg
They come in a variety of weights. Check out amazon
Try adding "strongman sandbag" to your search if you haven't already purchased one. Rogue makes round ones with no handles at 100-200lb (45 - 90kg) if you want to go real heavy.
Because sandbags are used for multiple reps and sets not setting records
Check-out VOG dynami sandbags. Comes With 3 separate bladders wich you can fill up to 20 kg each.

Thanks Brian.Coach Brian.
You're welcome, Koos!
As a beginner how many time a week should I be doing this?
Dave Salsbury Anywhere from 1 to 3 times a week. The key is to not overdo but work on technique and improving your skills with each sandbag exercise. But I would still encourage other forms of activity like weight training, cardiovascular exercise etc.
Thanks alot my man god bless u
No problem! 👍
I think I t s very good workout.

Check Amazon for a great selection of sandbags. The one Coach Brian is using here is from Vector Fitness
I got mine from Gym Face - gymface.co
what is the weight of the sand bag ?
We have various weights that we use
Looks like there's a sleeping bag in there LOL good excercices though
Really like this workout. 👍🏼 great!
I like this
Thank you for watching! Glad you liked it 👍
What brand of sandbag do you recommend
He doesn’t know anything about sandbag training. Go to the DVRT website and get really good instructions
Art Tom Do you hate him? It seems alright to me
Cool workout
What KG is this bro?
I believe that is 30lbs
@@Criticalbench 20lb* which is 9kg
Where are you finding those duffle/tote bags to carry the sand bags with those handles on it?..... do they have a special/specific name please?
Thomas S O Y S Sankara the ones at my gym are called Core Bags I think? Try searching for that.
@@chrisoakleyfx thank you kindly good sir.
I use a Newf Fitness bag. Use coupon code AVG.FIT20 for 20% off.
@@raulrodriguez6367 how has your newf bag held up?
@@jennifercuellar4574 its held up well. It's really made sturdy. I like the fact that I can use it for many different activities.
What's a decent bag? All the stuff on Amazon looks cheap.
I would suggest reading customer reviews to get some honest feedback on what bags may be the best bang for your buck!
how much kg is that?
Just under 10kg
great work out music
what is the 1st track called
Who cares
I'm pretty sure I'm breaking the bag by doing the first two
Why is his top off
Because we are in a non-airconditioned gym in central FL and it is HOT like you can't imagine
My thought also. I find it hard to take trainers serious when they start ditching shirts to explain a workout. It can’t be hot in there, you didn’t even break a sweat. Vanity is more like it would say. The routines are good though.
I appreciate the top off. Lol
Good vid👍
am I the only one who looks for new routines and expects the demonstrators to use "sandbags"? Not "foam-filled-bags" when going through the routines?
