    This is an excellent explanation! What could be the typical value of these pull-up and pull-down resistor?

      Thank you!! I believe the typical value for these resistors can range around the10k area

    Hi, great video! One littel question. My escooters have a throttle with a hall sensor inside. How can he know how fast i want to drive? I think he would have to give full throttle at 5v and then no trottle at 0V, but how can he differentiate so precisely? A mystery for me 🤔🤔☺

    The Pull-up doesn't always have the resistor. What's important to know is the voltage level on the signal wire is when it is unplugged from the sensor; be it is high or low. If the signal is high unplugged the sensor is Pull-Down design. If the signal is low unplugged the sensor is a pull=up.

      I agree 100%

      And what voltage is considered “low” or “high” I have a vw polo 1.4 16v and the signal cable when unplugged from the sensor has around 4,8 volts.

      @@RodriguezRepairsThanks for the video! So the A3144 hall effect sensor is pull DOWN sensor? I didn't realize that there are pull UP sensors (Hall effect sensors that use pull DOWN resistor)...¿Do you know some model of pull up sensor?
      Thanks a lot!
      Greetings from Argentina!

      You have that backwards I think. If the signal is high unplugged it will be a pull up sensor because the resistor will be between the signal sense wire and 5v reference, and when it gets unplugged the voltage gets pulled up. Vise versa for pull down. I just wanted to do a correction for anyone in the future, I know how conflicting information can confuse someone and drive them insane from trying to diagnose their vehicle or just understand how something works.

    I have a chevy spark with no pulse on injectors, voltage at crank sensor is 1.88v ,can this be right or too low

    So if I put a jumper wire between the 5 volt reference wire and the signal wire will it fool the computer to think everything's fine and get my check engine light off so I can pass smog?

    What about a 12 volt pull up on a 06 nissan altima Crank, Cam, MAF? all share 12 volts?

    Hy, i have a question, can you tell me how can i connect a loudspeaker digital volume control to a hall sensor (from finger throttle's ebike ) in order to be able to control volume. Thank you in advance for your answer

    • @RodriguezRepairs
      @RodriguezRepairs  2 роки тому

      So you want to control volume from your fingers throttle? In on and off patterns?

      @@RodriguezRepairs yes. i want to control loudspeaker volume with hall sensor from finger throttle, but not only on and off.... i want to increase and decrease volume accordind to tension variation from hall sensor

    I don’t understand? Hall sensor will output 0-5 volts based on magnetic field regardless of an external resistor. There must be another purpose for the pull up or pull down? Noise interference perhaps?

      He is explaining, open drain, without knowing it.
      if he really know, then please send me the Part no, of the hall sensor.

    ????? pull UP should have resistor to +5V, pullDOWN should have resistor to GROUND.

    • @Maxdubi
      @Maxdubi 28 днів тому

      Yea I got a bit confused too even though it was somewhat understandable. He just got the terms mixed up and wrote the schematic backwards. The pull down design uses a resistor between signal and ground and starts the signal or “sensing” wire at 0v and climbs to 5v. When disconnected the signal wire is empty. A pull up is the opposite and starts at 5v going down and when disconnected signal wire will have 5v equal to the ref 5v.

    Not all cars have a 5 volt ref.........

    There is no such thing as a pullup or a pulldown resistor. The resistor has an ohm value. Where the resistor is placed in the circuit determines the name of the circuit.

    Want to make some good money repairing or kitting out cam plate sensors for 2005 through 2007 Buells? These are mainly 2006 Buell XB12X Ulysses, 1203cc 103 hp adventure motorcycles. I can send you pictures and an actual cam plate with its embedded sensor. The plate is about 3 inches in diameter with a sealed plastic sensor module pressed in. Standard cam plates for any of the other Buells WILL NOT WORK. I do not want the business or money. I am retired and just want my Buells to run. Best to you. George
