  • This video is about the Sky Mount camera mount that attaches to the leading edge of the wing. The first time I used this mount in a video, I did not set it up well and received emails from Tracermount owner Hans Haenen with instructions on how to use it correctly for wing foiling. I made this new video showing how to use it correctly, so I made a new, updated video.

    Robert you are just the chillest man ever. If you weren’t Hawaiian you would definitely be an Aussie bloke,

    Hi Robert, Aloha from Berlin / Germany. You were asking for input for further videos. Well, I like most the tech talks with you and your friends, talking about material, moves and tricks while watching you guys foiling. We currently try different foils, wings and boards to see what works best in our gusty and bumpy conditions. Thanks Sven

      Hi Sven, great to hear, I learned to windsurf on the Havel about 40 years ago. Viel Spaß! 🌏🏄‍♀️👍

    Hi - and thank you for all the great videos!
    I also enjoy the Tracer Mount for filming wingfoiling.
    A tip: try turning it 180 degrees and putting it on the bladder with the camera mount pointing forward instead of backwards. That way the camera is clear of the canopy and you get a clearer view. Keep the videos coming! 🤙

      Do you by accident have a picture showing what you mean? on fb or anywhere? I'm always afraid the camera might flip off when the LE crashes onto the board...

    I’m always concerned with the pressure this mount puts on my wing and creates some deformation. Thoughts?

    • @blueplanetsurf
      @blueplanetsurf  4 роки тому +2

      I'm not too concerned about it, it does not seem to damage the wing. The bladder is actually oversized so the wing takes on the shape of the sewn nylon sleeve. As long as there is no sand/ friction between the mount and the nylon sleeve, I don't think it does any harm.

    Is there any safety? My concern would be if the wing pressure goes down for whatever reason, as the mount would come off?

      Yes, you should always tether your camera on any type of mount

    Aloha from big island you guys are ripping!
    How much does your current board weigh and what is the best board in your opinion for lighter winds to get on foil the easiest.
    I have a big axis 102 wing currently.

      Great tip about folding the wing. Thanks for your videos.

      Aloha! I’m not sure of the exact weight. To me durability is more important than super light weight. A longer, floaty board makes it easier to get going in light winds but as you get better you can go much smaller than you would use for SUP foiling 🤙🏼

    Tracermount perspective is cool and useful. Cool were the images of the other wingers. Useful for technique. Leech line makes sense for floppy luff issues. Minimal weight. Inexpensive. Leech line cleat ~$3-4/cleat. Line ~$0.20/ft. Pre-folded Dacron tape ~$0.35/ft. DIY if Sewing skills. Checkout sailrite.com for materials and how to install video tutorial.
