Best video of anything I've seen in a minute. Pure paradise! I'm only a weekend or 2 away from my first hydrofoil wing experience. I couldn't ride out a dock start after 100 or so tries, so I built an 80 liter board, hoping to finally ride the foil set out, pulled by a 5 meter wing.
Another trip of a lifetime, world class watersports a long way from anywhere. Loved the flat water sailing and spin gybe progression, The complete package with coaching and good friends.
It’s just like when Richard Whyte discovered and perfected the duck gybe in windsurfing! Looks like an epic adventure Alan! I like how you showed on the map where you were going and all the steps you had to take to get there. Getting there is half the fun!
Great video! Which ML foil did you use when you were fastest on flatwater? What is the max. speed with this foil and what length of mast are you using. Thanks for the reply.
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge on this channel. I’m a windsurfer, but you’ve inspired me to pick up wing foiling! Just getting started and looking for gear to purchase. Should probably sign up for your paid channel. Curious what size front wing and mast you typically use, or used in this video? Thanks !
Love your channel. Thanks for sharing this. I've been struggling with getting backwinded when gybing in somewhat higher speeds. This made me think this could be what is happening. Excited to try next time on the water. Juuhuuu! 🤙
No to straps for beginners until you can work out exactly where stand on the board. Board shape and volume, Rider weight and Foil size and placement on board are unique to each set up. Once you are riding consistently on foil note where to place the straps. I have a video on Patreon.com/AlanCadiz that covers all this.
When I think of a duck jibe I can't help but think of windsurfing or dinghy sailing when you duck under the boom as it swing across the boat. This is different. LMK if you are able to do it.
Kwajalein has plenty contracting work there. Done 2 rounds - 10yrs apart. Plenty time there but 2o21 was a Wild Times so... I left on my own 2 feet, NOT "on my knees". 🙄
Best video yet, Dad. Story + instruction + beautiful visuals + perfect commentary = great watch.
Alan brings an analytical rigor and precise language to this sport that is helpful and interesting.
Boy, what a beautiful life. So much to appreciate and via UA-cam we can enjoy all that beauty here in the Netherlands.
Thanks Alan. Great video as always. You are a source of inspiration for many of us.

A very special place in the world for sure.
I can't tell you how overjoyed I was when I finally saw you fishing!!!
I mean, how can you NOT fish there???
😎👍🏻
I love to fish but I didn't catch anything from shore. the sport fishing for mahi and Ono is good. I hope I get the chance to try again.
Love the clip of Mom at 4:05
My favorite is at 10:46
That new jibe looks like a (early) duck jibe to me but with different hand work... Nice video!

good video, good life! 😎
I would say Guam has the "flattest" water of all, especially in Tumon Bay. And it's kinda in the "neighborhood" of the Marshall Islands.
Thanks for sharing! 🤙
Thank you Ben and Julia
what about seaweed and fish what if you run into them
Amazing video Guys so inspiring 🩵🤘
Glad you liked it.

lots of coral - I would be too cautious
The water was so clear I could alway see what was head. We spent most of our time in deep water but the video of the reef added to the visuals.
