how were textures loading and stutters on your sata ssd? Cause on mine occasionally i have some stutters and texture pop in, especially moving the camera around
I use Sata SSD and it's all about your settings and other hardware. Don't use Ultra background detail setting if your PC can't handle it. A lot of these channels tell you how you should be using it, but they don't know shit! Most of them run high end hardware, that can handle it. Ultra setting will actually cause more pop in if your system can't handle the load. for Reference, I have a RTX 3060 and use high setting instead. I get very little pop in if at all. I hear a lot of people complaining about stutters too and again! It's because they don't know hardware at all. Even some of these benchmark channels don't know what they are doing. There is such a thing has good pairing between hardware and using the ideal settings to get the smoothest experience out of the game. Take this for instance! The RTX 3060 and Ryzen 5 3600 are a good pair. But these People just throw the fastest GPU with the Fastest CPU together and think that there is a good balance between the drivers and hardware. It's the same way with some games being optimized to work better on AMD, Nvidia or Intel hardware.
@zazoreal5536 yeah man i can kind of agree, my build is close to yours, i have as well a r5 3600 and an rtx 4060, and yeah i noticed that ultra background was far worse for me, setting it to high solved almost all my problems, but in some areas i still get texture pop ins, even with medium background. That's why i was thinking that maybe if i could move the game from my sata ssd to my nvme i could have fixed it, and that's why i asked you. Also i tried dropping textures from high to medium, but still some pop ins here and there
@@zazoreal5536 Background to Ultra is the ONLY setting that mitigates the annoying pop up, or textures will keep loading or removed even from 1 metre. The camera rotation popup on the other hand, will be present unless you're using NVME with Direct Storage. You cooked up a 200 word essay to spew nonsense and misinformation😂.
Found the solution cap as limit your frame rate in Nvidia panel its broken in the game itself, some demands alot of GPU power read the instruction before install it can brake the game.
SPOILERS AHEAD There is a certain part later in the game where I’m fairly certain an SSD of sorts is required, I moved my game to HDD make room for SpiderMan 2 however any part with the Tiny Bronco is pretty much unplayable because the hitboxes for obstacles fail to load and you can fall through the map.
Question about your testing methodology. Were you testing with the OS on the HDD to or was the OS always on the SSD? The reason why I ask is that this game has a shader cache and I believe that will usually be stored on the OS drive vs where the game is installed. This may mean that if you have and SSD for OS and the HDD for game storage you may be OK with the little hiccups you mentioned. However, if you are on a pure HDD or potentially a hybrid drive you may have issues with extreme stutters and pop-ins as the shader cache builds and is being read from the HDD. This game was build with the PS5 asset streaming in mind so the PC equivalent, DirectStorage, will be accessing the HDD quite a bit.
Who's running this game off of a PC or laptop that has only HDD? Even the cheapest crap laptops have NVME SSD's these days. Are there actually people out there that still don't have an SSD? Especially in a PC capable of running a game like this?
@ you would be surprised. The modders have enabled people with unsupported GPUs get past the DX12Ulitmate requirements and a lot of them are complaining about performance. Saw someone specifically say they know SSD is a requirement but they are stubborn. So anything is possible.
You can play 99% of today's games without any problem on a 600 Mega Transfer SATA SSD, with a difference of just 1 minute or second compared to PCie NVMe SSDs...
"with a difference of just 1 minute or second compared to PCie NVMe SSDs". Lol, a SATA SSD isn't a minute slower than an NVMe, what are you saying? They are around 7-8 seconds behind while loading, like in this video... A minute difference is SATA SSD vs normal HDD.
I use primocache with a 256gb and 512gb nvme drive in a few computers. Makes a huge difference when you have a few mechanical drives that you put your overflow games into or if you are just on a budget.
The fact that a SATA SSD is nearly as good as a Gen 4 NVME M.2 SSD for a game this ambitious is scarily impressive for its SATA Read speed limitations! 😅
yes of course the Sata SSD is way slower then gen4 nvme and you know why ? because the game code where and how to get the Datas from the HardDrive are writen in the mind of the less Spead of Sata SSD's, of course they can use Code that use the Bandwich of the Nvme M2 SSD and use way hig res textures and bigger ones too, no problems because the speed is there if your hardware is good enough.
to remove texture pop in completely, move the game from hdd to ssd. i can play the game at max settings just fine at 3440 x 1440p with the exception of shadow which i turn down from high to low cause how dark this game can get. i also turn the brightness from 0 to 5 and its not enough so i go all the way to 10. most of the time i get about a solid stable smooth 55 frame per second when i play the game. though sometimes in rare occasion it can drop as low as 50 and since i limit my frame to 60 frame thats the highest it can get. hope this helps people with performance and texture pop in issue. nb : i play on my 115 watts rtx 4070 8gb vram laptop but most of the time it can only maxed out at 100 watts at 80 degrees with 90 to 100 % usage.
Ok it sure runs on a normal HDD, i mean why actually it shouldn't ? But still there can be quite some heavy differences in terms of reading speeds of HDD's, my old Samsung 1.5 Tbyte 5400 rpm has a reading speed of like 90 MB/second, while new one's like Toshiba P300 have reading speeds up to 180 MB/second I've also seen Toshiba N300 with a reading speed of like 232 MB/second but i'm not sure if its a good idea to use an actual NAS HDD in a normal computer that gets turned on and off maybe multiple times each day, would be cool if someone here could answer me this question. Big question for me is, how much is the reading speed of your Seagate BarraCuda HDD ?
I always thought the minimum hardware in the requirement is the one the actually have and tested. So SSD as minimum probably means they don't have a test pc with hdd or just didn't bother to test it and don't guarantee it will work properly on hdd
I have a weird setup, using sata sdd for Rebirth because it doesn't work on Linux, so had to use a back up windows. But with 64gb of ram i guess everything should be loaded already.
This showcases how pcie gen5 SSDs are definitely not needed for gaming yet, if even pcie gen4 SSDs are only 15 percent faster than SATA SSDs in load times, despite them being over 1000 percent faster on paper. Whoever buys a pcie5.0 ssd solely for gaming right now, wastes money.
It's not about load times, it's more about asset loading during gameplay. That is the real benefit of nvme drives. And switching from regular SSD to NVME in 2025 is definitely advised, most games have asset loading issues if you aren't using direct storage.
@@AaronWOfficial Fair enough. I use the WD black SN850X with 7300 read and 6600 write speed. And I have the feeling my games heavily under-utilize it so far.

HDD is completely unusable, which will cause serious delay in texture reading, blur and lag. It is recommended to use 7000/s, m.2 SSD. And separate it from the hard disk installed by Windows.
