Perfect example of pilates looking easy but then burning like crazy! Amazing how the simplest looking can moves can be the toughest... Felt strengthening all over - good combo. Only the rep counts need improving!
I like how she gives clear instructions and reminds you to keep your stomach in and breathe correctly. She has great energy too. I really liked this video.

Did this again today - had meniscus surgery 4mos ago and came back too soon power walking several days in a row mos 2-3; a set back to my recovery. This workout kicks butt (literally). Pilates does not hurt my knee at all. I am going to do Monica's other videos as well. I am trying to accept my limitations but it is hard.
This is a perfect work out video! I appreciate it because a lot of thought and consideration has been invested into the structure of the class. Amazing work team awesome!!

Her cueing for the knee-to-nose I feel is a bit backwards. It's best to exhale when collapsing the body together and inhaling on body extension. Besides that this video is Fabulous! I teach this stuff allll the time and I enjoyed her one-legged Chataranga push-ups---GENIUS
I appreciate the positive, healthy vibe these women exude! I can no longer watch the weight-obsessed, calorie talking women who appear to have an eating disorder. I would much rather exercise around strong and balanced women!
You can praise somebody without bashing others. Also, not all skiny women have eating disorder, some of us are naturally this way. I am also against obsession with diets but bodyshaming/skinny shaming is NOT the way to fight this. SHame on you, Lisa.

That is true I have not tried the entire workout. I looked at your video for inspiration as I had to cover a pilates class for one of my work colleagues. The exercise when you are opening up the legs and close them as you are lying on the side, looks to me like a vulnerable position. What is the exact muscle activated in this movement. ?
ofelia ofe Trust me, this workout will kick your butt. Personally I have lost inches around my waist, thighs, and buttocks without losing any net weight (increase muscle/decrease fat & tighten core muscles). It strengthens & activates your core. Some exercises in Pilates seem like they are pointless; however, they are improving balance & state of mind (relaxing), reducing stress, and realigning the spine. Give a few sessions a try. It will make a believer out of you.
Hi, I love the workout and how Monica coaches me to keep going. My question is, why does my stomach hurt much from doing the workout? I had lunch of fish fillet with a cup of oatmeal. Do you think that's causing the pain? No, it's not my first time to do ab exercises, been working out for more than a month, mix and match walking 30-45 minute walking every day and alternate of strength and abs.

Good stuff. Definitely a bit embarrassing being an active young guy but having such a hard time doing things You ladies make look so easy. Are there any chances You could include more modified versions of Your moves for inflexible guys like me? Thanks so much! =)
My legs were shaking the entire time (turn-out made the exercises far more intense) and my butt cramped so much during the exercise at 28:20 once we started circling our knees. I really liked the elevated clam at 14:25 where we extended the upper leg. I thought they were fun. My one criticism is that the exercise at 22:27 when she starts pulling her leg across her body on each side was terribly difficult to understand and accomplish. I felt very insecure about doing it correctly without someone to correct my form. Thank you for the video!
