Wow, it's amazing what production quality does for me. I had very little interest in the base game, but that black box edition may actually get my dollar.
And I believe it is egg-zeck-you-ter with the stress on zeck, not ecks-uh-cute-er with the stress on the ecks.
That's cool. If they just threw in a couple micro machines, not quite worth it, but this is worth considering.

I was thinking about picking this up but then I heard about Rebellion, so I'll wait for that to drop. =)
+azraelswrd Right? The timing couldn't have been worse for Hasbro. lol
+TheGreatHamEl I don't think it will affect sales. Rebellion is 3-4 hour game. This is a 30 minute filler. The only thing they have in common are Death Star minis :p
+Drive Thru Review I'm aware. I don't think the effect will be literally 0% though. I'd been waiting for this, but I'm not convinced I need it now. I mean, there wasn't really anything in this niche before, was there? Not for Star Wars anyways. So sure, different playtimes, but I think a lot of folks might pass over the $50 version of this because the *real* deluxe 2 player Star Wars experience is coming and in that light, $50 suddenly seems like a lot for what it is.
+TheGreatHamEl I can see some folks favoring the standard edition over the Black Series. I'm not sure Rebellion factors in. There really isn't anything in this sort of Ameritrash filler space though.
Drive Thru Review All I am saying is that Rebellion is already factoring into people's decision to pass on the Black version. I'm not just spit balling or theorizing; I'd say a decent number of folks on BGG have vocalized a diminished interest in an upgraded Star Wars Risk. One can only guess how that will manifest in terms of sales, but I think it is fair to say that might have sold more if they'd A.) released closer to the relaease of the regular version and B.) before they announced Rebellion.
Thanks for this video Joel. Just an observation, I noticed the imperial ship was on a clear base with a rebel symbol and the falcon was on a clear base with an imperial symbol...is there a reason for this in the game? Just curious

I've never bought this game but is thee really any substantial difference between The Black Series and the "Force Friday" one? Kind on a budget.
+Webshooters1 Nothing over what I describe here. Wait for Amazon to have it on sale if you want the Black one. I've seen it for $30.
+Drive Thru Review I might go for The Black Series version plus finding some variants to make the duel between Luke and Vader more integral to the game such as the winner jumping in a fighter and joining the space battle.
EDIT: I've bit the bullet and got The Black Series version. Luckily I had a $20 Amazon gift card so I only ended up paying $24.
