The Kylo Ren in the upper right is just the Star Wars product branding. They use a different character every year, and it's in the same spot regardless of what kind of product it is. It does seem weird considering he isn't in the game, but it is what it is. And the 'Risk' branding makes sense given that they're catering to the common pedestrian and not the gamer crowd so much. Not sure if you tried it, but GoT Risk was actually okay too. Def still waiting for the Black Edition (otherwise I just know I'd buy this twice), but cool review, looks solid for what it is.
Good review and OMG you dropped the black & white intro??? I can finally subscribe! lol Also, I agree that this isn't really Risk. :-/ I was hoping it'd be a bit more galactic in scale.
I just picked up the game and played it twice. its quite fun and plays in about 30 minutes once you get the hand, but it feels very tilted towards the Rebels. It seems very hard to win as empire, who knows maybe it will seem more balanced after a few more plays.
Since this is using some of the same mechanics as "The Queen's Gambit" albeit streamlined, instead of calling this Risk I'd call it "The Emperor's Gambit".

Wow, I'd never thought that a game with Risk on the cover could be such a cool game!

That’s a really nice clear summary, thanks!
Having risk on the box kinds of sets it up as a dis-service, they should have named it something else
Thanks Joel, look like a fun game, did you have any thoughts about the mini's or would you prefer the Black version(?) when it's availible?
+E Bur I'll be picking up the Black Series when it's available.
