M2 MBA 15 inch is great laptop for daily tasks. If you switch it to Low power mode you get easily 20 hours of use with low office work or basic browsing. Great!
I purchased an M3 MBA 512GB/16GB specs as I wanted to keep mine for several years. I do not live in the US so customizing specs is kinda limited. If I had more options, I might’ve chosen to get the M2 MBA 256GB/16GB specs instead.
I think m1 is all you need in Mac. As long as Apple will not slowdown M1 chip through updates. I'm using macbook air M1, (old design not appealing to see) but it's okay, and does everything.
Imagine if you had M3 Macbook Air and M3 BMW at the same time 😎

Got mine back in 2022, and I love it. Haven't had any issues, and works extremely well! And I purchased mine refurbished from Apple.

You could save some more money and buy a M3 macbook pro with M3 pro processor.
Please make a comparison for macbook pro m1 and m2 macbook air since it seems they are similar in price now
I added it to my ideas list

You should probably use the m1 realistically
