It's fine. XCode doesn't really struggle with processing a large project with only M1 CPU. You DO need to customize it to have at least 16GB of RAM. More, if you have a larger project.

Coming from a 2015 MacBook and barring budget constraints, you have the perfect reason to jump straight to the base M3. For future-proofing purposes, I wouldn't recommend you to look at the M1 because of the outdated body. I'd choose M3 over the M2 for the MacBook Air form factor just because it does certain "MacBook Air-synonymous" features better such as better battery life and faster SSD speeds (though as David said in this video, you won't even feel). But if you're in a tighter budget space, I think David's review between M2 and M3 will help you decide

I was looking for this type of comparison between M2 and M3, simple and on point. Now I’m satisfied with the conclusion. Thank you!
I like how this guy explains it like for most people who aren't like super techy and stuff..just straight to the point gj dude thank you!

Hey Dave. The M3 model does have the processor making it a lot faster than its predecessor especially editing photos.

No pro is going to be faster
I already watched videos about this, even the m1 pro outperforms the m2 and m3 in a bunch of scenarios

No matter if you get the M3 or the M2, you def need at least 16GB of RAM and 512 SSD.
