That is a seriously good point that a lot of gun guys don't seem to realize. I think about this when you see them talking about reholstering pistols at speed...you don't need to lol.
the same principle exists in japanese sword--iaido, kenjutsu--if you're putting the weapon away, you're all done and you might as well enjoy a little afterglow anyway
In case anyone wanted to know... SOCP - Special Operations Combatives Program: This is a military training program developed by the U.S. Army to teach soldiers self-defense and close-quarters combat techniques.
I practice Filipino Martial Arts. The dude her is throwing some really practical nukes of information. From carrying positions to weapon deployment methods. Tons of thumbs up! Great work !
FMA for the win! If you get a chance to go to the Philippines, I highly recommend Master Edwin Velasquez from Modern Arnis (MATTI). I was fortunate to learn from him years before MATTI was formed, that man has forgotten more than most of us know.
as a young troop with anglico he pegged me with the 3 knives ...but the honest me was leatherman and a swiss army knife.. i still have the swiss army knife ..god i loved that thing . For the new troops ignore the broadsword..go with the multitool..ounces equal pounds.
Dude is hilarious with his honesty.... as a knife collector, I thought bro was spot on even though he's clowning us 😆. I use the SOCP almost every day in conjunction with a folder. No Rambo knife needed 🤷♂️
EDC knives are one of my favorite things to collect. You'll never know how useful they are until you don't have yours when you need it. Fixed blades with finger rings on the butt end of them are the absolute best.
I’ve been watching all of his videos since seeing him on SRS. I just watched this entire video…enthralled! Me: (zero clue about any kind of weaponry) shaking my head in agreement with Shrek…“Yep, very important to wear it center mass!” 😂😂
Haha same, I find myself mentally conversing about all of these practical tactical weapons and professional violence scenarios as if I'm now some kind of trained tough dude, lol. I'm either trying to impress myself, which is idiotic. If im trying to impress my wife then it's definitely not happening haha.
Usually my EDC is a folder because fixed blades many times are too big or bulky. This knife is great for somkany reasons including compactness and ease of deployment!
Been carrying that thing for the past 4 years. He didn't mention the other big feature, which is that it's thin enough to hold in your hand simultaneously with you handgun.
I have the folder version of it . I love how slim it is I keep it inside my waistband and I foget it's there. It's way too expensive so if i loose it im in panic mode to find it back. The most useful blade to use in construction/ renovation but clients feel weird when I pull it out.
You just just got them an order of 5 coming up.. Thank you for introducing me to this.. The ONLY time I carry three cutting tools on me is tech wreck diving.... Z knives in case of entanglements... And sometimes I go with my CQC7 if I don't trust any divers droping down with me in case they become a survival problem.. ;)
Different subject but i saw in a previous video you mention, and i'm paraphrasing, a 9mm is a good secondary but a 1911/.45 is a primary. Could you maybe do a video expanding on that?
I carry a big knife in the woods sometimes,....when its more practical than carrying a hatchet, but mainly only cause drawknives have have limited use and stripping bark is slow Af with a hatchet but a good large knife with the right shape can do alot...the crkt hisshou with its flat grind and shape/durability is awesome as a wood working knife. 😂 in combat though doubt it would be worth it in the 21st century. Thanks for another video.💯🎯
I use the SOCP rescue at work as a medic and love it. Fits the same sheath as my dagger. Buy some aftermarket sheaths or find a way to get more, attach them to whatever gear you need, and now you can choose aid or combatives based on mission. Really happy with the purchases.
That's a beauty! I swore off lock blades ever since one almost took the tip of my finger off. I was a kid getting sticks to roast hot dogs, the lock failed and the knife folded onto my finger. Since then, give me a fixed blade or fuck off! I couldn't trust my lock blade cutting sticks off a tree, why anyone would ever choose to rely on a lock blade in a combat situation is beyond me......
Anyone know where I can get that back plate piece that protects against skin friction? My SOCP did not come with that attachment when purchased years ago. Not sure if newer models come with it now.
"Never re-holster fast"
Darn good advice!
Absolutely
He may have not shot his nuts off but by the looks of it, he’s probably seen it happen in front of him! 😂 but yes, good advice for sure!
Why?

I could listen to John talk about shit all day..Never been more entertained while learning....."Riiiiight?"
Makes Sense.
I know what you mean.
Real
you like healthy brown? hangover orange? baby green?
He’s great! To think what he’s done and to still have his wits about him. “You know I’m whoopin that ass, riiight!” 😂😂😂
I can listen to this man talk for days. Nothing but knowledge and sincerity behind every word!!

This guy should have 3 million subs. Aside from the knowledge for free hes funny as hell.
Oh ya, totally appreciate what hes done for Americans
What did he do? Kill innocent Iraqis that did NOTHING to the USA?? Grow up.

@@RenzieCat can't tell if that's sarcasm or not 😂. Either way, take everything with a grain of salt, it will be better for your health.

Maybe practice speaking English, too?
Then work on not going down on other men in the comment sections...
My favourite. Lives in my molle on my support side, hidden behind my TQ and flashlight so I can access it with pistol still in hand. Amazing lil tool.
I carry the SOC-P!! It came with a trainer! It is designed perfectly and I can have it in my hand and shoot a firearm easily! Great choice!
I truly value this man's opinion. If you haven't watched it yet watch his interview on the Shawn Ryan show. Good shit
What a legend. Absolute unit of a human being
Go take a cold shower
He's mentally unstable but sure.
An amazing knife.... I totally dig its simplicity .... just got mine today.
Every knife company should hire John to do their commercials
Merry Christmas Shrek!
And to all
You guys need a “notify me when in stock” option for the P tool.
Email Abbey
They are back in stock.
@LaunchBawx still shows as out of stock
I’m a moron. I thought u were looking for this dagger… not the p tool from the s.o.b site. My bad brother
SOCP is also one of my favorites and Vertx came out with a fanny pack called the SOCP that was designed to be used with it.
I love this- this is also knowledge transfer right here. Thank you for helping the rest of us out.
Merry Christmas. Keep crushing it brother.

I wish you did one on one self defense classes for women ! All the knowledge you have would be valuable to know ! Thanks for all the info !
That SOCP dagger and or folder are my go to edc.
That is my bedside knife. Love it. Got it from a buddy that passed away. Sorting his stuff out posthumously. Makes a great back scratcher
Thank you for sharing the info and for your service. I listen very closely to your advice. I will order mine soon if I cannot find it locally.
Thank you, John. And Merry Christmas.
Good stuff. As a baraw guy, I like wave function for deployment, quick to pikal, harsh, clear, harsh again. Much respect 🙏

"Never happened to me. I'm whooping that ass. I did my job." His jokes kill too. OMG, I'm dying! 😂
Had to watch this twice just so could thumbs up the video. This guy 100% reminds me of JOSEPH SIMONET. The other basest man in America 🇺🇸
"Guns or knives, Butch" "Aww, Harvey, I don't wannna shoot you. . ." "Knives it is!"
Hell yeah! Thanks for turning me onto this blade and the punch knives you showed on Joe Rogans podcast. Good shit

John is awesome, love that dude! Dagger has been ordered! 🙌🏼
I love the new sheath and clip. I'll have to order new ones just for the upgrades.
The older style clip sucked for retention.
The commentary tickle the tonsils haha I had to give it a like! 😂😂
Thank You John,,,,,,Merry Christmas 🙏🎄
Kinda like that uncle that causes a scene at the Christmas Dinner.. respect
Been here since 865 subs. I knew shawn was gonna take you off from 26k subs. Congrats brother.
Dude “tickle the tonsils” 😂 😂 🤣 🤣
This guy is a living "Super Hero"!
This is a great knife. I have it on my molle vest for work.
Awesome! Love your channel! Thank you.
"Never re-holster fast."
Wish someone would have told Cheddar Bob that 😂
Cheddar Bob didn’t even have a holster, the dope tried to pants carry. 😂 First mistake.
@@rodneyalaking8241 Never cholo carry 😂 especially around the fupa
Love the videos! Keep em coming! 👍
John I have a Tiger Claw karambit by Cold Steel I trained with it but I like your one it's class
I carry this same knife every day for work and I love it. Anyone know where to get the leather backer from?
This is the knife I have in my kit since taking a class on fighting with the plate carrier on. No easier knife to use in a confined space
Sound advice there sir. Loving this channel, hope to train with you in person one day.
Take a look at Tkell Knives...awesome people, family veteran owned and operated !
T Kells are solid AF. Bench made lost me with their crazy ass prices. Although this SOCP under 100.00. Still I’m liking that TKELL 007
Merry Christmas, John!
Love this guy. Merry Christmas shrek!
Merry Christmas all y'all!
Wish that was in my stocking
3:00 hehe when the intrusive thoughts come
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Cool vid Brother thanks, Merry Christmas 🎄 to you and your family John.

love the SOCP DAGGER and you can grip with pistol carried one since they came out.
TICKLE THE TONSILS,
Ive had a pair of these for years and somehow I feel wildly validated lol.
If someone should ever have an affiliate link I would definitely approve of there being one here
Merry Christmas sir 🤠
I carry one in my vest. Very practical.
In some states , like NY a dagger, and any knife with a finger loop is an illegal k ife, and illegal brass knuckle
I tried to buy some of your products but everything i want is sold out. Are you planning on additional stock soon? Thanks SOB
I’ve been carrying one of those for about 2 years now and I love it. 👺👹👺👹🤣🤣🤣
Total badass!! “ never happened to me in whoopin that ass”!!😅😅😢 AND WE BELIEVE YOU!!!
Hi John, when are the EDC Pencils coming back in stock?

SOG is great, have the SOG trident for work. Run the S&W boot knife for CC perfect little blade for the price
VERY COOL! That's a Benchmade Blade but who makes the leather addon for the sheath?
"Calm down calm down" 😂
My favorite edc is the Buck 120 General

Merry Christmas brother gonna buy the knife I think.
Is the leather piece an aftermarket addition? Didnt think it came with that
had the same one for over a year but really need that leather back for my skin.
I just adopted this man as my crazy uncle from the army. Whats up unk!!!!!!
