Hi, these are wonderful. Your imagination continues to blow me away. Once again I want to thank you for sharing your work. See you in the next video.👍❤️
The bags are adorable, very distinctive in fact! I love the interplay between other hobbies and miniatures. I'm new to nail art, but I'm also finding many uses for my paper crafting supplies. I thought of you today when I finally came across some decorative studs to embellish greeting cards with. They would be perfect for this project!
Thank you Peggy yes I used to be a nail artist many years ago and used to dabble in creating jewelry so now that I'm full on into Miniatures I see the uses of my supplies that I had for other crafts! Nail art and jewelry findings are always so perfect cuz they they're so TINY!!! I'm so glad you found some studs to embellish your greeting cards have FUN!!!! 😊💖💖💖😃
Absolutely adorable! Gretchen, you're totally correct in saying don't get frustrated, for me, I have to say it A LOT 😀 I love the luggage bags!! Your energy is amazing!! I so happy to be in your mini world. You are encouraging and very instinctive in making your mini products, a binder clip, Girl!!!! who knew, Yes!! I'll show you mine whenever I get to making them. Thank you Darling so much for showing us/me. Smooches!
Hey there Kaydee!! Thank you so much I'm so glad you enjoyed this video!! I really love making Miniatures out of random common household items! I can hardly look at anything without wondering how I can make something in miniature! 🤭🤣😆😄💖 YES!! Definitely when you make sure send me a picture to my email so I can see what you created I always love to see what my dogs are making!!! I appreciate you for being here and allowing me to share 😃💖💖💖💖💖
I will never get tired of this technique for these darling little bags. They never look like you’re making the same thing again because of all your clever tricks to finish them. I learn so much from you even if you are making more of something. Scaling everything is so different from my multi-media background and you give me the courage to mess up and keep going! I feel a responsibility to the dolls because I love them so much. xx
Thanks so much 😊 thanks so much Cassandra I feel like each time I make something again the next iteration is a little bit better!! I'm Always striving to improve!
Both bags are so lovely - all aspects - the fabrics, embellishments, straps, etc. Wonderful! I HAVE to tell you what came my way via an unplanned stop in an antique/consignment shop on Monday! We were getting our snow tires changed out for our non-winter tires, so rather than just sit and wait, I decided to visit the little antique/consignment shop in the next block over. I’ve been there many times, but have never seen any miniatures or dollhouses of any kind in any of the vendor booths before. I wasn’t in the shop 5 minutes when I saw a lovely 1:12 beautifully handmade dollhouse sitting there! It was so well made and even has a Dutch door (which I adore), dormer windows, gorgeous curtains, and removable plexiglass and the “back” - making everything visible inside. When I saw the interior, I began to drool! LOL! There were 4 good sized rooms 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs, with very pretty stairs connecting the floors. It had been all wired for electricity, but was no longer working, even though all of the lovely lights remained, along with stunning furniture and accessories in every room. (Some of the furniture pieces and accessories were ones I’ve had on my “wish list” for a very long time too!). Then I saw the price …. $95!! I almost fell over right then and there, afraid that maybe it was actually not for sale or that a wrong price tag had been attached, etc. So, I asked the clerk what she knew about the house. She said, “oh, a woman who made it decided to sell it … and …. She will actually take $85 if you want to buy it!” I almost fainted! I somehow managed to say, “ yes, I do want to buy it and I’ll pay for it now.” I truly felt like I was dreaming! So, I paid for it and when our car was ready, we loaded it into the back and then caught my breath! $85?! I still can’t believe it! Each room has furniture, (let alone accessories) that are worth far in excess of $85! The house alone (with nothing in it) is worth far more than $85. I am still in shock about this find, even now, 4 days later! LOL In the living room, it has the same chair (signed by the artist) that you featured in your last video! It actually 2 of those same chairs, the matching couch and an ottoman - all signed by the same artist! I couldn’t believe it! And thankfully nothing had been glued down - she used museum wax, so even transporting it all home, everything stayed in place. So … be still my heart, that is continuing to overflow with joy and gratitude! I rarely ever come across any non-plastic dollhouses or furniture locally. So this was incredible! My plan is to actually remove the furniture and accessories and see which things I want to put in my other 1:12 house which I’m still working on. It has many more rooms and many of these just-acquired furniture pieces and accessories will work perfectly in it. Then, I will see what I what to do with this latest 1:12 house. I’ve been wanting to do sone kind of shop, so it might be perfect for that. We shall see! Right now, I’m preparing to carefully remove everything, give it all a good cleaning and go from there. (IF I can ever catch my breath -LOL!) I just HAD to share with YOU! I know you get the excitement of a wonderful dollhouse find! Oh, and before I forget … it came with a male (Caucasian) doll that I would be delighted to send to you, if you’d like to gave him. I know nothing about dolls, but can send you a picture of him if you’d like. I think he can be easily transformed into something wonderful in your amazing hands. His arms and legs do articulate. He is dressed. Please let me know if you would like to have him or if you want to see a photo first. No pressure - I just thought you might want him. Thanks for letting me go on and on here, my friend! Can you tell I’m excited?! Thanks and hugs, ❣️ Kathleen
Love the little carpet bags!! Yes I agree on the nail art supplies they are great for this scale i am addicted to them as well..lol.. much love from Ohio❤!
How clever to use binder clips for carpet bag luggage. I am always amazed at the things miniaturists come up with to create one of a kind pieces. The bags are lovely, Gretchen.
I am just so impressed with all the tiny details you have thought of in prep for the wedding! I would have forgotten all about most of it. You are just the best doll wedding planner EVER!
NESSIE YOU ATE SO SWEET! I'M GLAD YOUR AMUSED BY MY SUPER ACTIVE IMAGINATION! 🤣🤭😂! I HAVE TO BE CAREFUL Stay Focused! Because there are so many ideas tumbling around in my head! 🤭🤣😂😂💖 Never thought a Tiny Wedding would be this much Fun! 😊
Binder clips ... Even my barbie dolls can use purses from them but these carpet bag style with mini details are perfect for your little dolls. Do they have little hankies ready when they cry at the wedding? Does the bride have mini garters to hold up her stockings? Is there a mini shoe polishing kit ready to get the mens shoes all shiny?
Once again...PERFECTION!! SO GORGEOUS!! ❤❤❤ Wish I'd seen this video before making my train carriage video. These would have been perfect for my luggage! I have to make some now. Thank you so much for sharing!💕💕💕
Thank you Wanda how kind of you I truly appreciate such a generous compliment!! I appreciate you for letting me know you're enjoying this I'm glad you're here!!!💖😊💖
I’m so happy I get to catch up with your wonderful videos. This is one of my absolute favorites & i recently inherited a LOT of fabric swatches so I’ll be saving this and making these so I’ll share after I have some done. Thank you, dear Little Gretchen. You are such a gift.
Fabulous bags ❤try using Weld Bond glue it glues everything and dries very quickly with a good grip and dries transparent, I prefer it to tacky glue, oh 😅 can I use your bag idea for my mouse Jasmine in a future video 😊 she needs a bag to put her potions and herbs in💗
Thanks Barb I used to do nails many years ago in my 1st Life!🤭😂🤣 And I kept my nails very glamorous back then! Now I Craft so much I don't have time for pretty nails but the decals, gems , studs and other nail decorations have endless possibilities for minis!!!!
Hello Gretchen, your luggage always turns out beautifully, I love the carpet bags, they always remind me of Mary Poppins 😊 All the little extra details really do add to the realism, you're going to need an extension on the rooming house to hold all the luggage 😅 I'm looking forward to seeing what you do next, have a lovely weekend. Best wishes from Yorkshire, England 🇬🇧 😊
Thank you Diane I love making tiny luggage especially the carpet bags!! Mary Poppins is one of my favorite stories because the setting is in the Victorian times!!! Carpet bags truly do remind me of that movie!!!! Thank You for the memory!! ☺️💖💖💖💖
Oh you never disappoint me. I Love these bags. That was such a clever idea. Thank you for sharing this with us. So until next time God Bless you and your family and have a Blessed evening and stay safe my dear and Special Friend. ❤❤❤
Gretchen, I could watch you make these all day. Each one so unique and different. Love the "distinctive" orange/brown one in particular. After college when I moved in with my friend, her mom offered to furnish our apartment with some vintage Mexican furniture. She selected the upholstery for the cushions and we got to decided which side of the fabric we preferred. It was the "wrong" side of course! It's just better sometimes. 😂 I was imagining how fabulous it would be having you teach a binder clip bag workshop at a miniature event! I hope you'll come to California.😍 One question, I've seen you use your cut down bottle of tacky glue before. How do you cover it up when you're done? You're just tops Gretchen- you truly are! 🥰✨
That is amazing to imagine DOT ! Me teaching at a miniature event would be a Dream!!!! I definitely will have to have my excessive glue use under control before I could do that! 🤭 Yes many times I prefer the wrong side of fabric because the pattern is more subtle sometimes it's more defined. For this bag I just thought the colors look richer! Regarding my tacky glue bottle: when get to the point of cutting the bottle, I kinda of crush the sides of the bottom and push it into the top half. It will preserve the integrity for a few days. But usually by the time I do that I have a larger bottle that I'm not ready to open and I'm trying to get every drop I can before the cut bottle dries out. If I'm doing Doll clothes it's pretty likely that I'll use up the rest of the glue in a project like that. Thank you for sharing your story about the upholstery cushion!😃💖💖💖💖💖
You are so talented. Those bags are beautiful. I’ve really never been into miniature things before but wow, I’m really loving what you do. Thank you for sharing.❤
As always, I love your video's, such creativity!! I've watched many of your video's, some have been watched many times over!! 😄 and I learn something new each time. Thank you for inspiring!! 💝
