OMGOSH Cade!! I absolutely ❤ this video!!! Brilliant work on the carpet bags and choice of fabric you used...I would classify these as heirloom pieces...😊
Great job.. I have been looking for a good tutorial for a bag like this. I have some wonderful denim printed with an antique carpet print. I will be re-watching this a bucha times!!! Any chance you'll sell a pdf pattern?
I found your video while searching for carpet bag hardware. Your bags are fabulous! I have a similar tapestry. I was told it was from the 60’s. It’s beautiful, and I wouldn’t have dreamt of cutting it up. But I am in my 60s and in the process of downsizing all of my collected, antiques and collectibles. I’m also finding that no one wants them. If I don’t find the right new owner for that tapestry, I know exactly what I’m going to do with it now. Thank you for posting this.
Very inspiring! Never occurred to me to try making bags like those. I love this idea! BTW Tandy has been around for decades. They used to have brick and mortar stores in the 70's. Every respectable hippie had something made of leather. 😁☮
Ha! Indeed! I remember dad making suede moccasins and other similar goods. We would occasionally stop in Tandy. Appreciate the comment and for watching my video. Be well!
Hi Cade!! Your video is FABULOUS!!! I accidentally stumbled across it while searching for a way to sew together a vintage needlepoint purse panel and I didn't really want to make it a purse, thought about just a bag and then after watching your video I know exactly what I want to do to make it unique. You did amazing work and so much detail went into your carpet bags, I can't believe you said you are an amateur sewist, your bags are totally unique and usable.
What beautiful bags you have created! I loved the Union Station reveal as well. My brother used to order leather and supplies from Tandy Leather Co when he created leather belts and wallets in the 1970s.
Trying to work on smaller projects, but they still take so much work 😅. Thank you much as I know you know the attention it takes to complete these ideas. Always looking forward to your newest projects!
Inspiring and creative! I love them!❤ My mother tried teaching me to sew when I was young but on my first try the needle broke and hit me in the eye. Sadly that was it for me!

Just Wow. all of it.

Maybe not! I love that word and thank you!

Thanks so much for the kind words, it really means a lot!
I have a tapestry of that exact make, grew up with it, and have been wondering what to do with it.
They turned out very nice and look like vintage bags. You have so much more patience they I have to tackle this project. Nicely done!
So happy you think they look vintage! That was more or less the goal! 😊
Oh I love this project, they turned out beautifully 😍
Thanks so much! 😊

Oh my! Hand sewing is, mostly, safer. I get hesitation after something like that happening too. I call it being risk adverse. Take care and thank you!
@@CADEmade I love to hand sew and have a few projects in the making! ❤
🖤🖤🖤🖤
What type of thread did you use for the hand stitching?
It’s a wax covered thread which I currently have set aside. You can purchase at Tandy leather
A walking foot would be helpful
Thank you. So much to learn 😅
Where did you get the hardware?
Tandy Leather company
Wow! Is there anything you can't do??
Lol… I always say I can’t do Math… anything beyond simple addition and subtraction division. 😂 thank you much
LOVELY!!! Do you have an email address?
Thank you! CADEmadeDIY@gmail.com 😊
