DJ Carlo Atendido, you helped me. I see in recommendation your video about 2 years ago. Then I start with djing and I think you help me so much. Djing is my life now. Thank you Carlo so much.
I'm an Old School DJ from the early 90's, back then it was the Technics 1210 Mk2 and a Numark Mixer, and after watching your video, and the Perfomance Video, i got itchy fingers, just when i'm going to a Club, so i went ahead and bought one, 10 minutes ago! - So, from the bottom of my heart, Thank you very very much, this is like christmas all over again, except, now i'm very excited! ;o)
Bought this one used, but it was practically new and unused, for 165$. Cheaper than cheaper controllers. And I like its features more than some more expensive ones. Its worth the full price too
I love that they included color displays into their jog wheels at this price level. However, for that price I still prefer the DDJ-400 from Pioneer, which also has lots of features and includes a full rekordbox license. (So no lite software)
Best entry level controller of 2020/21 Just purchased one of these and could not be happier, first mix sounded like it was out of a club. If you are planning on manual beatmatching DO NOT I repeat do not buy a pioneer entry level controller, the pitch faders on them are so small and sensitive it's a beyond a joke and the DDJ-SB3 doesn't even have a cue mix button for mixing through your headphones late at night, thank you numark !!!
I own the old Numark mixtrack platinium and I love it, it such a fun controller the jogwheels are great and everything on the controller is quality. By far the best one on the market for the price and the new looks even better! I highly recommend it👌
Planning of buying DDJ 400 but here it comes. Big jogwheel, wide range tempo, and the effect section. Looking forward for your recommendations. More power!
@@djcarlo I rest for a while to prioritize things and want to go back again. Need something to practice and make sets more interesting. I like the club layout out on the DDJ 400 because on my recent gigs we use s9 and cdjs. But im torn between rekordbox and serato. Serato user since then but want to explore new things. Its just my hobby but need to decide maybe for long term goal but dont want to invest too much right this time.
This is on the price range of the next dj controller for me to buy but the fact it uses serato with limited features still makes me put a foot back and buy ddj400 instead. For the same price I don't have to worry about the software
Yeah... Unless you plan going for a video mixing (something I could find only in Serato, although it's a plugin that costs additional 99$ on top of pro version), or you already have the software, I'd rather go for DDJ-400.
The selling point for me was the effects section and the opportunity to access the other two decks - something which not many DJ's will particularly go for, but great if you want to use a looping rhythm to mix two instrumental outro's/intros without losing energy, also for fast drum and bass mixes. I do like the fact that Rekordbox is geared up for exporting playlists with full analysis info, hot cues and CDJ settings etc, but you can do that (more painfully) in the free version and I like that you can stream Tidal in Serato too. I think both the DDJ 400 and the platinum FX both have their strengths - both great controllers for their prices!
this controller works even better with Virtual dj than with Serato, besides the Stems its also possible to video mixing. And Rekordbox is about to be payed with a monthly subscription.
I would like to see a remix set with this controller. More importantly, how would the paddles behave compared to knobs. Might consider this once it comes to my country (MY).

@@djcarlo yes it is. So I obviously just tried it with the Serato DjLite....now I want to try it out with Serato Dj Pro. I downloaded the Dj pro 2.3.5 version but it's not reading my control. Am I missing something,m
IMO, this is the best entry level controller put out by Numark to date, based on what I've seen. I've never been a big fan of the previous controllers in the entry level range by Numark, but it appears that the manufacturer has hit a grand slam with this one. I want it!
@@djcarlo I've been playing with mixers since 1984 (yes, I'm old, lol), and I didn't get into using digital controllers until 2009. I've never been really wowed by Numark budget controllers in the past, even though these products have been highly regarded and considered excellent value buys by the consumers. But, once again, there's something about this controller that has really peaked my interest. Evidently the build quality is really good for a device at the price point. The big jog wheels and tempo sliders combined with a really tight design (but not too compact) are real selling points, if you ask me. By the way, keep up the great tutorials and reviews. You're excellent at what you do.
Started off with the Mixtrack Pro 3. Great for learners, although the loop and auto loop function was a bit confusing compared to the DDJ 400 I got next. Hopefully they improved that side of it. That aside, I'd recommend it to anyone looking to buy their 1st controller
@@djcarlo you should compare the sb3, ddj 400 and roland entry lvl controllers with yhe Numark Pro FX instead. As this controller is 50$ cheaper for the cost of the displays and 4 deck function, which you both don't really need as a beginner
@@Nalitus7331 I think the Numark pro fx is a good choice considering it's 200$, but idk if Serato lite is good enough and buying Serato pro also costs money
I own the previous version the Mixtrack Platinum and have found the effects strength using the touch sensitive slide bar at the top not too user friendly. It’s fab for skipping through a song quickly though, which the Mixtrack FX doesn’t seem to have. I’m definitely torn between sticking and upgrading, but at the same time I’m just a bedroom DJ so don’t think I can handle anything too fancy yet and justify the upgrade to my wife who already puts up enough of me 😅
DJ Carlo Atendido hahah well my current controller was my birthday present 1.5 years ago from her, but it’s only since lockdown have I found your amazing channel and been following your tutorials that I’ve discovered lots of new ways for transitions and techniques, although most have been on your DDJ-400 and using Rekordbox DJ I’ve found it can be replicated on the Mixtrack, but I’m still on Serato Lite, which doesn’t give me options for the brake function when pressing the play/pause button and cross fader for scratching.
@@djcarlo Thanks for all of the great videos! I started out with a Mixtrack Pro II in 2013 and wanted to modernize. I was stoked about the SB3 but also know those jogs on that new FX are great quality! And like you said, those effect switches are really nice in the middle. I won't be a scratch champ so it works for me!
This one seems awesome, you have sold me on this. It seems like it has everything that i wanted on a beginner console, for a good price and i never heard of this one.
Hi Carlos, I liked the review of the numark controller to my way of seeing, I liked it and I'm thinking of buying it. And the price is attractive for this controller.. keep doing those videos like that it's very interesting .. saludos amigo 🙏👊🎧👍
It is really annoying always categorize hardware for noobies when having that much functions. Recently been on a party with a DJ mixing with CDJ's, DJM and Serato and the DJ was unable to tell me how to perform loop and effects when he let me mix for 30 minutes. I noticed that during the hole night, he never used loops, stems or effects. Not that this is bad but this controller have more functions that what this CDJ/DJM dj was using in Serato. Since i have this device as backup device and at the end, it will be my main device. I've found a way to use any effect you want. Map each effect button to a ON button effects and map the Dry/Wet to all the 6 knobs to manage the effect intensity. There you are, it does work really well. You are not longer limited to the default effects. You cannot just perform an effect at the same time on each deck which i personally never do. You can also map the HOLD and ON button to something, for instance to change the effect banks. Other than that, i found the volume output of this controller really high and it sounds really great, very neutral, much better than the Hercules 500, Mixon 4 which i tested both. Only downside of this controller is that the Jogwheel are slightly too sensitive, the long pitch faders are great but a bit to close to the jogwheels. Other than that it is really great.Just use a small audio mixer to have XLR and that will do the work.
Hoping Pioneer try to match this by updating their DDJ 400 or 200. Numark produces good hardware but there’s no point in owning one for me if I need my music in rekordbox for the club setups

Personally, I prefer the REV1 because I scratch. The Platinum FX has heavy jogwheels, so they're pretty difficult to use for my routines. Otherwise, this would be a better all around controller for everyday use
I have a set of Reloop turntables and the numark scratch, but I use this a lot for smaller gigs where I don't have a lot of space or want to deal with bringing my decks.

the Numark definitely packs the functionality in a small package but lacks the selection for output ports. Definitely on my wishlist. Side note. Can DJ Carlo use it for some KPop EDM mix? I can provide a playlist 🙃

One thing I really didnt like about this controller besides the jog wheels being too heavy and somehow slow to respond the wave form is that you cannot switch time to Time Remaining always displays Elapsed time, Time Remaining is very important when mixing
Got one 2 years ago, the build feels great. But i must say that my cross-fader and left-jogwheel already have issues (bleeding fader and lagging jogwheel sensor). I did get at least 200 hours and multiple house party gigs out of it though but compared to pioneer controllers, it doesn't have longevity. I will take a ddj over a Numark next time.
@@djcarlo holy crap you actually saw and reacted to my comment after 2 years of upload. I love the community that you have built man! Much love from the Netherlands🇳🇱❤️
hey, does yours also act funny when you drag both channel faders down at the same time? mine reduces the volume of the right deck smoothly, while the left deck volume goes down in abrupt jumps. also, the sluggishness of the jogwheel might be a grounding issue. mine is not lagging if i am on battery, and it tends to be weird when on AC power
@@sunlbx i dont have quite the same issues. But when searching the internet i see that the fader issues are all quite common. I upgraded to an flx6 and have been loving it so far.
Hey I’m starting to get into DJing and trying to get my first set of decks. I’ve been really looking at the DDJ 400s but with what’s going on at the moment. I’m not able to get them delivered to me till June/July time at the earliest. Could you maybe do some sort of comparison of these decks to the 400s and would these work with rekordbox? I’d like a controller which isn’t too basic and easy that it can get a bit boring but nothing too complicated or hard to start with
please as a beginner can you do a video on how to use it, the functions of the keys and how to operate them, eg, i just got this and as a beginner how do i use it what does what, and when to use each or any bolting. thanks, am your number on fan in Lagos Nigeria
Iv always been a Numark fan ever since I bought my first mixtrack pro in 2010. Still have it. I like to get my hands on the new mixtrack pro Fx platinum. But first I need to upgrade my laptop. It's abit old and slow
Hi DJ Carlo, thank you very much for your videos that help a lot. I follow your scratch videos and I love how you scratch on this Anderson Paak remix. Can you make a video tutorial to reproduce this scratch (scratch transformers)?
The controller itself was hardly ever in camera focus throughout the video. Maybe add a little more b-roll to show off more of the unit next time? The section to the right of the performance pads was never shown also. I know i could go to the product page for more info, but just casually watching product videos, it would be more convenient.
It looks cool, but definitely sticking with my SB3 which I should receive tomorrow actually ! :) Nice video tho, I wish I had this to start with instead of my so old Hercules DJ Control Air+
@@djcarlo You are talking about the Hercules ? Hm... The jog wheels are not so responsive, you can only activate 1 effect at a time, you can mess your session up with the MIX / CUE mode which is not easy to get at first glance, the cross fader has 0 resistance to it... And the Air infrared sensor fx thing is such a kid feature. But yeah I guess you can still find worse, but I'm at a time when I need to upgrade in order to get better. But you can still do some nice things with it, thats true.
DDJ 400 still beats it, but only cuz of free software. If Mixtrack Platinum FX at least included 50%off Serato voucher or, like Roland 202 come out in limited series with full Serato included THAT would give DDJ 400 serious run. But this one deffo beats SB 3 if only by giving user full pitch faders. BTW Carlo, i know that' ll unlikely to happen but i would've love to hear you opinion on Mixars Primo. That controller is basically SR2 done right.
Don’t really know I want to go ddj400 for the full RB package as I’m a complete beginner. But the 400’s are a couple years old now. Just worried pioneer may bring something out to rival this who knows. That what I’m asking your option as I am a complete novice do I go pioneer ddj400 or these. If you were me what would you do?

I have a set of Reloop turntables and the numark scratch, but I use this a lot for smaller gigs where I don't have a lot of space or want to deal with bringing my decks.
Indeed! I do enjoy the feel of the Platinum FX and how convenient it is to bring around.
I love it so the player so much that I wish I could get it as my birthday gift by June 3... anyway like someone said right below the comment box it is not the player that is good but the person using it,,, YOU ARE THE BEST KEEP INSPIRING US GOD BLESS YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO,, CUZ U ARE DOING A GREAT JOB...
I am a beginner DJ but I am a pro... LOL!!! I am thinking of buying this controller
It's a good one! I'll tell you that
the Numark definitely packs the functionality in a small package but lacks the selection for output ports. Definitely on my wishlist.
Side note. Can DJ Carlo use it for some KPop EDM mix? I can provide a playlist 🙃
Good point you make there, but the controller is really for beginners, but I get ya!
Kpop mix? Sure send me a tracklist to askdjcarlo@gmail.com
Here's my selection for KPop songs that are I think perfect for mix
open.spotify.com/playlist/0YO3bvkMmRT2qZ9k8R8cky?si=MBjNCnj8Q8KguM8k4TLorQ
Ps. You're the coolest DJ props on being so awesome
One thing I really didnt like about this controller besides the jog wheels being too heavy and somehow slow to respond the wave form is that you cannot switch time to Time Remaining always displays Elapsed time, Time Remaining is very important when mixing
Indeed. It's limited on the jog wheel information customization
What is better - pioneer DDJ 400 or Numark mixtrack platinum FX? Thanks awesome video.
Depends on the software you want!
I have this. You can use the bottom pads for beat jumping when you select auto loop if you have the right settings in Serato
Nice choice! Thanks for sharing your experience!
Can you plz do a Comparison on which controller to buy between DDJ 400 and Inpulse 300 and Numark mixtrack fx... It will really helpful
Good suggestion! Let's see what I can offer!
@@djcarlo Thank you!! It would be really helpful 😊
I've heard that there are some weird internal issues after a while! Love the build, but the insides seem to need a little extra refining
I’d like a controller which isn’t too basic and easy that it can get a bit boring but nothing too complicated or hard to start with
This won't work with Rekordbox DJ, but that is a good idea! Thanks for the suggestion!
I hope Dj Carlo can make a comparison between these two controllers.
Who's listening in 2025?? :)
Haha, I'd be surprised if Numark doesn't release an updated Mixtrack Platinum by then!
Damn this is a beauty.
It truly is! Thanks for showing your support!
I know right? This dude looks hot af!
Oh... you were talking about the controller?
oh i just love scratching that sound
Thanks buddy! Hope you can learn more from my tutorials! What did you think of the review?
Scratching on this jog better than on the sb3?
Sadly not!
Oh, what is you experiencing? How does the sensibility?
Those fx paddles are dope
They really are! They're super fun to use as well :)
please as a beginner can you do a video on how to use it, the functions of the keys and how to operate them,
eg, i just got this and as a beginner how do i use it what does what, and when to use each or any bolting. thanks, am your number on fan in Lagos Nigeria
Check out my videos on How to DJ for Beginners! It's a different controller, but most of the functions are essentially the same
Iv always been a Numark fan ever since I bought my first mixtrack pro in 2010. Still have it.
I like to get my hands on the new mixtrack pro Fx platinum. But first I need to upgrade my laptop. It's abit old and slow
I love the thought of this controller. Love the fact that have access to the effects on the controller. Is this compatible with Djay pro on a ipad?
I believe so! But I haven't tried it myself but it should work.
Hi DJ Carlo, thank you very much for your videos that help a lot. I follow your scratch videos and I love how you scratch on this Anderson Paak remix. Can you make a video tutorial to reproduce this scratch (scratch transformers)?
Looks like it’s USB powered also which is a plus.
Yup it is!
size doesn't matter XD tbh best dj content that have everything (wish you can produce and expand even more)
The controller itself was hardly ever in camera focus throughout the video. Maybe add a little more b-roll to show off more of the unit next time? The section to the right of the performance pads was never shown also.
I know i could go to the product page for more info, but just casually watching product videos, it would be more convenient.
Good suggestion! Thanks for the input. I'll learn and get better :)
That controller used to be my first one but my lil brother tryed it and now it doesn’t work 😞 but love ur music I wish I can meet u
Same here! Hopefully I get to go out again once Covid is over
It looks cool, but definitely sticking with my SB3 which I should receive tomorrow actually ! :)
Nice video tho, I wish I had this to start with instead of my so old Hercules DJ Control Air+
That's still an awesome controller to use and have!
Is the Denon Prime Go Dj Set coming or not ? : )
We shall see!
Just bought the DDJ 400 the other day and got it in the mail... RIP
Don't worry dude. You're good with the 400!
That's true! I wish it came with pro! But oh well! Sorry I'm not updated with that!
Good info, bro!
Thanks, man! Will you get this controller?
I just bought the 2016 Platinum now they come out with this lol
I love you bro...You're my DJ idol
Thanks, man! Hope you can help me out and help share this video!
Sure bro
Please make more videos with this controller! Not to many videos on this
Will do. If there is deman!
@@djcarlo can you do a video about how to change the settings to get that scratch sound when you scratch on the deck?
Could you do a review on new Numark Mixrack Pro FX, please...?
Hey Carlo what is the background song playing at 0:22 ??? I love that beat ❤️❤️ please let me know
Oof, I can't really say because I got that one in a background music back. It didn't have a proper title so I can't tell you what it's called. Sorry!
@@djcarlo damnn
is the platinum as good as the ddj 400. cause im curius
Depends on what software you want to use!
@@djcarlo I HAVE SERATO DJ PRO SO SERATO PRO VS REKORDBOX PRO!~
Nice scratch intro😍
Thanks, man! Glad you enjoyed it!
Good review as always. How do you think this competes with the ddj 400 as the premier beginner controller?
They're both good controllers! Just depends on what software you want to use :)
If they would put an adjustable pro scratch fader on these units they would be perfect. Flip record button.
Could anyone tell me how these compare with the Pioneer ddj-sb3 as these are the 2 i'm considering to use to upgrade from Numark party mix
I did a video comparing this and the SB3! Check it out!
Yeap I want this video for a review 😁
Yaaay! Thanks for viewing!
I need to make An updated mixdeck quad, That would be awesome
Awesome.... Which one is the best on scratching this one or the mixtrack fx...? On your opinion
Hey Carlo, great videos as always. Have you tried this controller with an ipad? Algoriddim? I'm curious to see if it works
I haven't! But that's an interesting suggestion!
So Did you try it with Ipad yet is it’s compatible?
What’s better this or the ddj400
Depends on the software you wanna use! This is amazing for Serato Lite!
DJ Carlo, I haven't deejayed consistently in 20 years & need this in my life. This looks like a keeper. Does Serato Lite allow you to use your music from iTunes?
Yay! Thanks for watching! Apparently, not.
I was already sold at the light up jog wheels
Need Guidence, It is a great video but I want to know How to use beat fx like pioneer in numark ?
Sup DJ Carlo, would u recommend this with Serato Pro or the DDJ 400? Thanks so much man been watching your vids to learn how to dj, thanks for the great content!
Both are awesome combos! Choose which software you want to use!
can you pls make a rewiew on numark party mix dj cont pls iam a beginner
Sorry I don't have it!
ok its ok
