It's actually awful for the dogs health. If an owner doesn't see his dog regularly, then the dog ends up in depression which can mean refusing to eat or just sit in solitude.
You can tell how good of a relationship this doggo has with her owner as she literally tries to run to his arms once she sees him. It’s adorable and I hope they don’t get separated like this again

Although this does tend to be the shiba personality, nothing is beyond initial adaptation or training :) my shiba is so friendly with strangers he'd let a thief in and befriend him. But then again dogs are like people and a lot simply have their own personality.
Why don't you work alongside the county shelter so people can find their dogs more easily? It's terrifying to think that I could lose my dog and have him taken somewhere that I wouldn't even think to check.
You should see my city's shelter...when a lost dog is taken in, they only have 3 days before they're put up for adoption to the public. And if the owner happens to discover their dog already up for adoption, they aren't given the chance to get it back, because the shelter sees them as an "unfit owner" for losing the dog in the first place. As if accidents never happen. An older lady lost her service dog of 6 years because they refused to give him back to her and he ended up getting sent away to another shelter a few states away. I love what most shelters do, but not ours. Should be illegal for them to take people's pets away like that...

One the adopting people were fine with giving the dog back but the other the people who adopted the dog refused to give it back to the original owners and like there were three way lawsuits going on between all three parties and etc. Usually depends on the hold time for strays. Some areas require a month other only one week before they can be released. It's sad and frustrating but hey, no system's perfect. It's good that this one worked out well! That guy seems so happy to have his pup back
Animals can experience trauma and it leaves it’s mark. Please be patient as they recover. I adopted from a shelter and It took a full year for normalcy. She really had it rougher than anyone knew. Heartbreaking.

This reminds me when my mom was hospitalized for about a month and a half our dog a husky mix was so happy to see her when she came back the pup wouldn't stop licking my mom's face and kept wagging her tail. Dogs are loyal and kind creatures and must be protected at all cost and be given lots of snacks and pets.
I could never own a dog that barks and howls this much, it would drive me crazy! I do love all dogs and animals so I’m glad there are people who adore these loud breeds because they are adorable just headache inducing. My friend rescued a dog that was a constant barker and they thought it was so cute and funny that was until they had a newborn and than they were very irritated with it and they didn’t think it was cute and funny anymore. They had a non stop barking fur baby and a nonstop crying human baby. Happy these two were reunited!
Shiba's are super dramatic and ridiculously attached to their owners. Mine used to cry whenever I had to leave to go to work and loses his mind if I go away and leave him in someone's care for a few days. Becomes my shadow when I get back and demands to be cradled like an infant. He's 12 and still acts this way😅

Poor pup wanted to greet the teen in the background most. Looks like the owners reunite was short lived lol and you can see how the owner won't let the dog go to see the boy
