I studied Marxism while getting my degree in Economics. There I learned Marxism taught equity of outcome. In Moses 4:1 Satan says, “… Behold, here am I, send me, I will be thy son, and I will redeem all mankind, that one soul shall not be lost, and surely I will do it; wherefore give me thine honor”. Satan was the original Marxist when he said, “I will redeem all mankind, that one soul shall not be lost”. The concept of “no soul being lost” is known as “equity of outcome”. Equity of outcome is what God rejected in the pre-existence. Equity in outcome is the keystone of Marxism. Equity in outcome can only be achieved through the elimination of free agency.

The irony is that there isn’t equity of outcome in Marxism. Someone has to rule and make sure everyone else is equal via force. Satan was that person who would have raised himself above everyone else. That’s one of the biggest dangers of Marxism. The ruling elite become outside the law and become the de facto God.

30ish years ago at WSU (Weber State) I decided to major in History (teaching) I saw a trend of Progressivism, and outright championing of Marxist ideals. It bugged me enough to want to expose it. Hundreds of hours of research, I figured it out. I was mocked mercilessly in classes. "Communism is OVER!" ('93-'98). That only made me louder. I wrote a few of my papers on it, including my Capstone/Thesis. My Russian History Professor, (A closet Conservative by her own admission) said my thesis was A grade work. The History Department Head threatened to fail me because of my topic. "I have never seen anything like this!" He was seething. I got 70% on the capstone. The saddest thing was watching the young members be brainwashed and totally embrace it. I am recently retired (High School Teacher). Throughout my career, most of my students could articulate what real Socialism/Marxism is, and why it is evil. Satan's plan on earth.

Such a cheap and easy temptation to have free things or, “It’s free!” And people flock to whatever that free thing is. Reminds me of that scripture “I will redeem all mankind, that one soul shall not be lost, and surely I will do it”. Always the temptation for free free free. Nothing is free, the journey is about building character, gaining experience. “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth”… alright I’m off my soap box now.

I spent a lot of time reading books and then studying this topic. I was inspired by members claiming that the United Order is basically Marxism. A few years ago I wrote a paper comparing the two and I came to the conclusion that Marxism is a wolf in sheep's clothing when comparing to the United Order. The in fact are opposites. Just a few points to compare the differences.
    United Order: Marxism:
    - Voluntarily chose to live the Law of Concertation - Forced to live Communism by external force and power of the state
    - Spirit of United Order: Giving - Spirit of Communism: Taking
    - Believe in freedom to choose and make decisions for oneself - Restrict freedom and forced into decisions made for them
    - Believe in being righteous and morally clean (a requirement) - “Ends justify the means” no matter the laws or morals that need to be disregarded
    - Believe in changing the individual who then changes their environment (Inside Out) - Believe in changing the environment which will force the individual to change (Outside In)
    - If you leave/fall away the individual keeps their inheritance and is free to leave - If you leave/ try to fight communism you are severely punished
    - Believe in strengthening the Family as basic unit of society - Encourage the breakdown of the family and loyalty only to communist party
    - Promotes God and recognizes that all things come from God - Not all Communists are Atheists, but Communism strives to remove God and religion
    - Non-Political - Tool for political power both in theory and practice
    - Operates on principles of private ownership and individual management - Operates on principles of government ownership and management
(includes deed of ownership); stewardship treated as private property (D&C 51:4)
    - Lord’s program for eliminating the inequalities and selfishness among men - Man’s program for eliminating the inequalities and selfishness among men

How can we live in freedom and maintain that we're entitled to anything that we can't get without the labor of others? So after Nylen's name was mentioned, I tried to seek out that specific talk, but found a video here on UA-cam instead, it was a round table convo basically and it was disturbing. They are saying that since women aren't ordained and preside over the congregation and sit with the bishopric on the stand, that it's causing women pain and traumas, and that we keep getting squashed into submission.... One lady (who didn't breathe when speaking) spoke of participating in baptisms and blessings with her husband. It just made me feel so sick for them inside. They want women to have the same authority as the priesthood holders and want the keys given to them. It's all for personal gain. But they kept saying that this is what Christ would want because he is in both his masculine and femininity. The scriptures teach us to deny ourselves and pick up our cross! This is for worldly gain and they are going to scare of any potential women having them believe that women don't have any authority in the church. So utterly sad. I am glad you brought this to our attention!

About ten years ago, I was the elder's quorum president in my ward, and in a session/discussion, I brought up the concept that the war in heaven continues on the earth. I was met with blank stares. What is even more mind blowing is that those who choose one side over another, whether is be an election, the American revolution, etc, and those who are fence sitters always, almost without exception divide into 1/3, 1/3, 1/3. So then how do you reconcile that there must needs be opposition in all things? It seems to me that all of this is by design, and the good and the bad are necessary somehow. After all, the serpent was the most cunning of the beasts of the field that God had created...

"...but the problem becomes when you wrest the Scriptures and you turn them into something else..." (iniquity/inequity). Marxism twists language to make good words into bad and vise versa, in order to infiltrate, indoctrinate, and fool the masses. I've referred to this for many years as "Marxist Word Salad". When you are in tune with their "language", you become adept at recognizing the bait and switch immediately. Satan tries to co-opt every good and honorable thing that God created and twist it to his agenda. It is a cheap imitation but many fall for the lies wrapped up in flowery ideals and language. It truly is good vs evil, for the two ideologies and religions cannot exist side by side. Eventually, and we are five minutes from that point now, one will succeed and overtake the other or vise versa. As everyone likes to say, "We know who wins in the end" but in the meantime, souls are lost because they are blinded by the temptation of false "empathy" and "equity", "tolerance", and all the other Marxist buzzwords that fool young and old into following the great usurper. I'm glad you have written a book that might open the eyes of many before their souls are lost to this depraved ideology.

Brother Greg , is there any chance We can talk the churches support of illegal immigration ? My ward is currently financially supporting several illegal immigrants that are technically on the records but have no interest in coming to church . Not only are our fast offerings supporting people coming from countries not facing any emergencies but We are being asked to give them furniture and cars etc . I can’t understand how the Church can have missionaries and temples in countries that are then “too dangerous “ to live in ? Why is the church supporting illegal immigration for economic reasons ? It has become a big topic where I live and wish the church would talk about their financial support of this situation. Would be nice to understand.

I have major disagreements with him on Marxism, obviously, but he did have some really good insights in psychology. I think the fact that he couldn't remain at the Frankfurt School reflects well on him. I wish I could go back in time and have lunch with him and congratulate him for his split with the Frankfurt School, then persuade him to drop Marxism... 😀

That was not a conclusion he came to on his own and we're seeing the same things right here.

That is what it is meant to do. On a basic level, in most universities they teach social "theories" which are supposed to be ways of explaining how society works. But critical theory is different. Instead of trying to explain how society works, critical theory is about tearing down things that Marxist think are oppressive. In queer theory, they think the idea of "normal" gender and sexuality is oppressive, so they generate materials to attack the idea that anything can be considered "normal."

Imagine why 1/3 of our brothers and sisters followed Lucifer... I don't think Heavenly Father told them who to vote for. @@CwicShow Hello,
I listened to the interview. It appears there is the conflating a bad idea (of which Marxism is a poster child) with the Great and Abominable Church. The position reads as ad hoc and forced. I see no indication from the interview either of the fallacies I note are addressed. To assert Marxism is the Great and Abominable Church is anachronistic. You state the underlying principles we call Marxism have always existed. There are two claims then being made. I'll note four standard Marxist concepts. Show me where these are part of the Great and Abominable Church and these underlying Marxist principles have always existed:
      -rejection of metaphysics
      -dialectical materialism
      -the abolition of private property
      -proletariat revolution
Equating Marxism to the Great and Abominable Church is also a category mistake. Marxism is not a religion. Religion is never defined in the interview. It seems you conflate ideology and/or ideological capture with religion. That's an error. Not all beliefs or belief systems are ipso facto religions. Part and parcel of religion entails a soteriology. What is the soteriological component of Marxism? Utopianism will not do. Soteriological conceptualization necessarily entails metaphysics. Given Marxism is by definition atheistic this is a fundamental problem with the assertion.
Note: the covenant path assertion is also problematic. From the interview this sounds like a strong claim, not simply a loose analogy. If that's correct, given covenant involves a contract between two parties (creature and Creator in the LDS case), who is the Marxist covenanting with?
