It’s even better that she’s asking to be or just showing up ready to go. There’s a huge difference in wanting to participate vs doing it because you’re asked too.
That looks amazing, I started to sand my engine bay but thought it was going to be quicker than it was and I got busy with work. this gave me the motivation I needed to get back to working on my dream car. I already pulled the engine and transmission but in the meantime of saving up for the new swap I lost a little motivation.
A common thing to do is hold a plate of brass behind the hole, and weld around the edges till the hole is filled. The brass doesn’t stick to the rest of the welds and it is much cleaner than the plates on the back.
Idk how you have this much nerves to do things like that. The genesis paint process was long asf too and you took like a champ with no serious complaining and whining. Such a madlad keep doing what you like and desire.
When you said cortney wanted to help sand it reminded me of a time I was sanding my old 98 coupe and i had a few friends over and one of their girlfriends started helping us sand it. Bro the whole half hour that she was sanding for she was sanding the mint condition plastic/rubber door trim and not one of us realized till she was "done" 😂😂😂 lesson learned that day. Always keep a close eye.
As someone who bought an ek right around the same time as you, this is hype. Mines my daily so no tear down but I love to see this. About to start tearing down my del sol to try to make it nice.
You right about the mixing board. When your using filler it pays to buy a more reputable brand filler, it sands much easier. Another trick when dealing with filler is green sanding. Put filler on a smaller area and sand with 80 grit before it is hard, the filler will sand quick and come off almost like balls.
Hey Robbie. Loving the Dedication lately. Keep it up. As a long time viewer seeing you on the grind always gives me a huge motivation boost to tackle some of my own projects. Thank you.
agreed ;) most of my favorite youtubers have gone supercar route ;( makes me sad,,, im a broke ass hoe and i have a mini with a b16 vtec and my honda civic saloon eg doing k20 conversion, good fun builds ;)
It's looking really good Robbie! I know exactly what you mean about the video's I've been filming a lot of prep work and it makes you feel like people are going to get bored of it. Just know, most of us are here to watch you and kinda "hang out" and that's why we're here.
do it,,, u will not regret it, im doing k20 build on mine, il be sticking it up on my channel with my vtec mini, hondas are great, reliable and hella fun
Hey Robbie im from Owen Sound Ontario, in the summer if you want some video's I am working on my 2012 Evo X and my 2001 Lexus is300, both already slightly modded
What kind of paint was that again? It looks great and I’d like to paint my truck with it and see how a brush did it that’d be so much cheaper too. Got an affiliate link?
Yeah some guy commented on the video of bondo on either the hood or the fenders that mixing it on cardboard was bad because of moisture and it absorbers something
The mixing trays I use are called onion boards, peel layers off each time you use it, cardboard absorbs stuff out of the filler. I used cardboard for many years without real issue tho!
Agreed. Sanding is the worst! I once had to sand the entire first floor of my childhood home and all we had was a hand sander it was bad 😂 I think about it every time I’m sanding my car
Next time you use body fill invest in a gallon of 3M platinum plus filler, it sands super easy and gets way less pinholes. Its what we use in body shops!
Since he will never reply, do you have any update on how that paint worked out for you? It's not temp resist but it's a rust prevent and rubber undercoating so I'm curious if it can withstand the bay
Look into an onion board Robbie! Use it as a mixing board and peel the sheet away for a new one. Cardboard absorbs so it throws your ratio off by a small amount. If you're going into more heavy body work I suggest a mixing board. Out of love not losing it on you haha
3:18 "Cortney wants to sand, I don't know why" she see's you working on this and she cares so she wants to help and make it a little easier for you. It's what couples do.
Hey Robbie, not sure if mentioned yet, but you molded in the upper control arm mounting holes on the shock tower... aside from that, fantastic job dude.
anyone else love how Courtney is getting more involved in the videos?
It's nice to see her involved. Nice to see couples who care about each other's stuff.
I´m always excited, i think it´s really cute
It’s even better that she’s asking to be or just showing up ready to go. There’s a huge difference in wanting to participate vs doing it because you’re asked too.
I think she's involved a lot behind the scenes but its nice to see her in the videos 😊😊
He dropped that hint that their getting married
@5:50 "spent my money on something else, just something that's going to make me happier than cars" congrats on buying a ring homie
Just a lil slipup
That’s what I was thinking
Came here to see if anyone caught it as well! Congrats Robbie!
Totally caught that too! First thought was he bought a ring😂
I thought I was the only one who thought this, I think they’ve been together for 7 years too saw it on Courtney’s Instagram
There is something so satisfying about painting something entirely gloss black.
Let’s get the wheel wells painted black too! Wow would it look even more clean !!! Not necessary but totally necessary for the OCD! 👍🏼
Happy New Years everyone. hoping for everyone to have a better year.

“ please don’t mess this up “ with a 🥺 face. Had me rolllling 😂
Dude Courtney helping you was so goalsss. That engine bay looks sick though, keep up the good work!
I agree with the bondo guy. Cardboard can soften and some fibres come loose and get mixed in the bondo, then you'll have small bubbles
As someone who bought an ek right around the same time as you, this is hype. Mines my daily so no tear down but I love to see this. About to start tearing down my del sol to try to make it nice.
I was literally sanding on my car and decided to take a break, and see a new video from u and ur sanding too
This car is going to look insane when it's done glad to say I've watched it grow
Loving the content Robbie, keep up the GREAT work!!
make sure to use SEAM SEALER on the back side of those tabs!!! they'll rust apart anf trap moisture otherwise
DAYUM. That work paid off. It looks A MAZ ING!!
You made the right choice with that brush on paint. Thick, looks clean and really shiny considering..
Dude you're vids are never boring!!!

Why does it look so good!?!!
Very satisfying video.
Hey can u let me know what paint u used??? Looks great on camera
This civic is gonna look awesome when its done!
High polished metal or chromed pipes, fixtures and fittings will look killer in that engine bay now 😍 hard work always pays off 😁

Been loving these civic videos. Makes me wanna get one myself
do it,,, u will not regret it, im doing k20 build on mine, il be sticking it up on my channel with my vtec mini, hondas are great, reliable and hella fun
The amount of effort you have put into this build and your past builds man, you should have way more subscribers.
What type of paint is that? I need it!!
Hey Robbie im from Owen Sound Ontario, in the summer if you want some video's I am working on my 2012 Evo X and my 2001 Lexus is300, both already slightly modded
Looks great
Just a tip tho put tape at the end of your spatula thing and when your done it's easy to clean
When sanding why not use a die angle grinder with a rolloc adapter?
That's really good like on camera it looks exceptional
Also I'll have a little something I'm sending for the hot wheels
Tbh loving these videos at the moment super chill productive and over all good to watch, honestly this man in 2021 🚀 hes going places on god!
I liked the paint it is a lot better than it would have been if it were spray painted. Good job on listening to your gut Robbie!
I love this series 🔥
That’s looks really good! What you’re doing is totally worth it. I regret not spending more time on my engine bay.
Where do u get the rust paint I need it so bad but I'm in America 🥺
He's in America too buddy. Canada is part of America.
He most likely bought it at Canadian Tire, but any good hardware store has similar stuff.
@@Chong1975 thanks
5:54... 😏 wonder what that means? Loving the videos, can't wait to see a next one. Maybe the next one will be of you and Courtney again. 👏
What kind of paint was that again? It looks great and I’d like to paint my truck with it and see how a brush did it that’d be so much cheaper too. Got an affiliate link?
Dom 16 rust prevention coating sadly they only sell it in Canada
@@rozzati2452 .... well poop I live in Arkansas.
Isn’t por15 basically the same
engine bay looks FIRE!!! hope mine turns out this clean, i might fill loads of holes to now looking at how good this turned out!!!
Use Raptorliner for the underbody and wheel wells. Jimmy Oakes has some good videos on using that stuff.
Yeah some guy commented on the video of bondo on either the hood or the fenders that mixing it on cardboard was bad because of moisture and it absorbers something
Looks great Robbie!
Fire! Great to see the progress!
After the last couple hundred amazing videos I'm expecting this one to be just as good. Stay committed on doing your thing!
You can use cardboard as a mixing board as long as you put something like wax paper over it
YESSS PAINT FINALLY!! Happy New Years Committed Crew and Happy New Years Robbie!! Hope everyone has a great New Year!!
Yes u got them right on looks like I'm the winner of the hot wheels haul u got in the video today mine is the first bunch of cars on the left
Happy New Years Robbie
The mixing trays I use are called onion boards, peel layers off each time you use it, cardboard absorbs stuff out of the filler. I used cardboard for many years without real issue tho!

Looks so good!
I’m hyped to see a new Honda on the channel and can’t wait to see what aero this bad girl will get
Agreed. Sanding is the worst! I once had to sand the entire first floor of my childhood home and all we had was a hand sander it was bad 😂 I think about it every time I’m sanding my car
I’m taking a wire brush to it idgaf
it looks sop good robbie great job
Next time you use body fill invest in a gallon of 3M platinum plus filler, it sands super easy and gets way less pinholes. Its what we use in body shops!
All of the work and dedication put into one video🙂🙂
welp. love this so much that i just bought mysel some of that paint to do my engine bay!
Thanks for the idea bro
Since he will never reply, do you have any update on how that paint worked out for you? It's not temp resist but it's a rust prevent and rubber undercoating so I'm curious if it can withstand the bay

Quick question!
What’s the name of that thick engine paint you used?
I think it is DOM 16
Is there a link for that paint?

"It's 7:49." Robbie hitting us with the cursed words "Hey Google"

We recently painted our skyline engine bay too, luckily we could skip the bondo step 😂. Good job! 💪
There’s no way you haven’t realized you filled the upper control arm holes yet. Especially after going between Jasmine and the Ek.
😂😂😂
The ek doesnt use those holes, the ek bolts through the side of the strut tower not the top.
They’re on the side.
Engine bay looks sickkkk! 🔥🔥
Another fire video!🔥🔥
Hey Robbie, not sure if mentioned yet, but you molded in the upper control arm mounting holes on the shock tower... aside from that, fantastic job dude.
I retract, just realized the mounts for uppers are on the side with ek's
I feel like you should just use that frame paint stuff on the whole undercarriage, no rust no fuss
I’m trying to find it anyone know the name
