Eine wunderbare Aufnahme! Es ehrt Currentzis, dass er hier wirklich dienend aktiv ist und sich nicht in den Mittelpunkt stellt. ❤
Ms. Frang is sensational, and the orchestral playing is glorious. The tragedy and beauty of the score are fully realized.
It has taken four decades, but I now realize that the Berg Concerto is a modern masterpiece.
Also, the excellent video direction/editing adds to one's enjoyment.

The lyricism in the performance is breathtaking. Frang and Currentzis seem to have really converged in their view of Berg's masterpiece. Bravi! The orchestra is just superb and Frang's playing is sumptuous. The only thing missing, really, from the video is the audience's applause. I am certain that it was rapturous.
I agree. Now I have listened many times, and Vilde Frangs playing is just marvellous.
I love all that Vilde Frang is playing, also this lyric and a little mysterious Alban Berg.

Wirklich ausgezeichnete Aufführung! Besser als in der großen Mehrheit der Tonträger dieses Meisterwerks. Ein riesiger Verlust fürs SWR SO wird der Abgang von Currentzis sein... Mit Sicherheit einer der 4-5 wichtigsten Dirigenten der Gegenwart.

We have the scientific evidences how music is regenerating and healing for the human body, do you think you can pull out the romantic side of this composition? Try to imagine a movie soundtrack, usually trying to depict a story is very helpfull, most composers used visionary inspirations in order to...tell us a story and they are the most delightful symphonies ever
simply mediocre work,mannered and full of squeaky tunes and I see nothing genius out of it at all, not even "modernization"
