You don't have to ask Cory you already know what he is gonna say. SOme sort of cichlids, plecos, cory, gold fish his suggestions anything smaller than 40 its guppies, dwarf cichlids and corys oh and kilifish......we all know what he likes lol
What a great video! I do have some more suggestions though! So you can keep any of 8-9 inch cichlids in a 40 breeder, so you can get your blue acara, a grow out for a Salvini, You can get a pair of convicts and get one of the coolest fish to watch breed, you can do a pair of firemouths, it will be a little snug and you will have to make sure its nice and clean. If it is longer and shorter I would totally do a colony of Shell Dwellers, mainly neolamprologus multiafaciatus or possibly occelatus but they get a bit bigger so you keep less. but shell dwelling cichlids are insane to keep and are a dream of mine, they stay right at the bottom, need hard water and a ph of 7.4-8+ (I'm doing all of this from my head so please do your research) and about 2 shells per fish since they like to pick and choose what shell they will live in, and make sure the shells aren't too small so that the female and the fry will fit in but not so big that they all cram in there. This was a great video, I hope my suggestions help anyone who is still deciding and I hope all of you and Corey have a great day!
I have a few 40B. My favorite currently has a ton of guppies, 5 baby Oranda that I hatched, 4 Otto's, and 3 scarlet badis. It's a fun take to watch and is completely full of plants. Obviously the Oranda can't stay in there long term, but they keep the environment great by eating and cleaning constantly. Also the derpy nature of them puts all the other fish at ease. I'm sure they try and eat guppy fry, but I'm not sure they are quick enough to eat many.
@@lifeisgood1083 high 70's like 77-79 is how I keep mine. I think anywhere beetween 70 and 80 will work. They're cool fish but lose a lot of that beautiful black color as they mature into adults. When I got mine as babies they had a beautiful black color now they're mostly all gray and kind of a bland looking fish.
Thank u! I'm in the process of setting up a 40 breeder, my thought is to have 25 silvertip tetras and one bosmati rainbow. Maybe 5 orange lazer cories but I'm thinking a few snails might be better cuz i don't want my tank to be too crowded. Thoughts?
Iam planning on getting a 40 gallon just because i want something bigger and unique, so the first fish i looked at was a flowerhorn and a few snails and i dont know about gravel cause i know the flowerhorn gets the gravil stuck in their mouth. And also i dont know what plants cause thats always hard for me to do
I would love some stocking suggestions for common European tank sizes, like 100 liters (26 gallons) and 170 liter (45 gallon). It seems like most videos go from 20 gallon to 29 gallon to 40 breeder to 55 gallon. I would love to see end-between sizes!
My current 40Bs have 20 LF White Clouds and 6 Hillstream loaches (soon to be adding gastromyzon) and the other one has Gold ocellatus and a few million shells. (and pieces of my arm, but that's another story)
Hi! I have a 40gal breeder that I just planted and I have 5 Neon Tetras, 5 Pircella Tetras, a male Betta, and a panda catfish. Could you please suggest how to fill it out? I was thinking of add a couple more of each tetra I have. I like Rummy Nose as well or platies/swordtail/guppies. I am really curious about how many different schools could I have? Thanks!
Barrick MacReady hmm 🤔 what plants and fish have you kept? I’ll give you some recommendations but I want to recommend something you haven’t already had. A fish tank that always looks good which is what I’m currently on is 10 cardinal tetras, 1 honey gourami, 6 green corydoras, 4 Kuhli Loaches, 1 hillstream loach, and 4 blue tiger shrimp! My plants are red tiger lotus, a bunch of Anubias, java fern, watersprite, red root floater, stayrogyne repens, cryptocroyne Wendtii green, and giant hairgrass
So I've got a foyrty gallon breeder and a taller fourtysix gallon tank both will be planted but o e is going to be unheated I'd like to have fresh water clams in the cool water and possibly some Rosey Barb's but they always destroy my plants any other stocking ideas or advice on Wich tanks I should use for the set up?
Co op how about a 30 long or just 30 gallon i think there the same but the 10 gallon drop could make a difference. Ps: i have a 30 long and it looks much bigger than a regular 30 gallon to me.
I think 4 gold fish is enough for the tank, if you want different fish I’d redone them since they poop a lot and more fish will only produce more ammonia
Could you show how you plant up goldfish tanks? My twin has tried plants a couple times with their goldies, and the plants keep getting demolished by the fish just motorboating the hell out of them.
I like this combo - BOLIVIAN RAM, JULII CORYDORAS, AND BLACK PHANTOM TETRAS. How many of each can I keep in a 40 gallon breeder tank? And, is something else I could add for a little more color?
I have a juwel vision 180 litre currently cycling could I keep 6 dwarf neon rainbows,6 forktail rainbows,1 apistograma and 10 green neon tetras or would that be too much the tank measures 36"long,16"deep,21"high I'm going to be changing my filter to the aquael turbo filter 1000 it is moderately planted
Great ideas! I'm very happy with my regular Goldfish, Shebunkins and Guppies in my 20 Gallon Show tank. My common Pleco died after I put a Dojo and 2 Chinese Algae Eaters in... no idea why on that one, and one sickly Goldfish, but other than that, I've had no problems. I put two female Cobra Guppies in with a Turquoise male I was lucky enough to get, in my little... I guess it's a three gallon (maybe 2 & a half) tank with the Corys from the 20G. Once I get my pond going, I can thin out the goldfish from the 20G and maybe some of the guppies... looking forward to that! :-)
Hi Cory! I've been waiting for the 40B video lol. I love the cory and Bolivian ram idea. Can I add a schooling fish like ember tetras or rummy nose tetras instead of the black phantom tetras and how many would you recommend? Thank you for all the great videos!
@@RaiderNarc 12 rummy nose, 4 corydorus 2 longfin bristlenose girls. 10 endlers. I did have ballon mollies as well. The corydorus are laying eggs the ballon mollies have had live fry and now the Bolivian rams are fanning their eggs all in the space of a week. I switched their food to tetra after Cory's video about the Israeli fish farm. The week before, I must admit I thought my fish tank was toxic and the fish weren't happy, but it seems I was wrong lol
@@RaiderNarc you're welcome, the back of my tank is also heavily planted. Puts a bit of a kibosh on my plans this weekend as I have more plants to put in and I was going to get some more corydorus.
Cory just an observation, many of your subs are not in the US so can you say the tank size please, a 40 breeder is that a 3ft or a 4ft its nice if you could maybe let us know.

LOL, I have about 6000 Malaysian Trumpet Snails living with my flower horn and they still can't keep his tank algae free with bi-weekly water changes in a 75. He is a long body and about 12 inches long so his poops are large.
I have recently used your "Med Trio" and followed your instructions. I used it on Bronze corydoras that were entering quarantine, I dosed the medications 2 days after they were in the qt tank. The medications killed all the corydoras within 48 hours. Have you quarantined Bronzes before?

I love this series! It would be cool to see a suggestions for a 55
may your wish come true
Way_ Point it did :)
Pretty much same thing Cory said here 15 more gallons options didnt change much cause your 55 foot print is even tighter then the 40 breeder tank
