thanks for sharing your van-life stories. This one was about how to deal with the heat. In most parts of the country it is quite a challenge. As a motorhome dweller for years, my strategy for beating the heat is to seek high elevation. Luckily I am familiar with AZ and NM, where you can easily find camping at 7000 + feet. I am in northern AZ where I see highs of 80-88 for a few weeks with overnight lows in the 50s. The arid climate is a huge plus as well. I'm sure CO has similar opportunities. In this dry climate, a portable evaporative cooler set in the doorway would work wonders. The southwest is truly a nomads' paradise for the reasons given, PLUS there is so much public land (compared to the East) and much of the time your camp fees are zero. Lots of high elevation.
I'm glad to see you're back. It's a hot day. Need to drive back to the East Bay by Emeryville area where the ocean and bay meet. It's cool there I'm here in Paradise by Chico California
What part of the country are you in? I am in Houston, Texas and about to be homeless. It's insanely hot here. I don't think me and my little Shih Tzu will survive in this heat.
Hi Darla, I'm on the East Coast. VA is home base, but I travel from Maine to Florida, depending on the time of year. The first thing I'd do is get or create a job you can do from your vehicle so you don't have to leave your baby alone, and you'll be able to travel away from extreme temps. Look for mountains if you can. 🩷
@@LifeWithMicheleSilver Thank you very much. I never thought this would be reality, but here we are and let's make the best of it. I might try to start a channel documenting the journey and helping others in the same situation find their way. Be safe and blessed. 💗💞
@DarlaGuyton that's a wonderful idea. It doesn't pay much until you're really big, but companies start sending you items pretty early on, and that helps save money on vanlife necessities. It also helps you find others in the same boat, and community really helps you feel not so lost ❤️ Maybe I will see you at a future meetup 😊
@@LifeWithMicheleSilver That would be awesome... on all accounts. I subscribed and will be following all your videos. Us girls have to stick together. 🙂

Exactly right: MaxxAir at one end and small window open at the other, and lots of ice water to drink.
👍 Rock on 🙂.
That little window in the back makes a big difference!
Great video! Sophie is so cunning ❤️ Makes me miss my van and the Florida heat! I would freeze my bandannas before a heat wave lol
Also… I love cucumber sandwiches or wraps with vegan mayo ❤
I miss Florida, too! 🙂 Can't wait to go back! I have reserved 3 meetups so far this winter 😁
I remember cucumber sandwiches growing up! 😀
That shirt is so cute!!!
Thank you Birdie!! 😊

Hi Michele, great video...we missed you 👍🌹
Thank you, John! Life's been crazy but it feels great to get this video out 😊
@@LifeWithMicheleSilver Maybe we will see you in Quartzite Arizona 👍🌹
That's all we think about in Texas is staying cool. I can't wait until our highs are the 80's.
Tractor supply was my go to especially during Covid because I knew I could go in and find a bathroom and bring my dog lol
I feel like this is information we need to share for fellow solo travelers!
@@LifeWithMicheleSilver absolutely! Thanks for sharing
Not dog-friendly, but Wegman's keep their stores quite cool when it's hot outside, and there's so many places inside to explore or just hang-out.
I'm glad to see you're back.

I'm trying to post regularly, but life keeps making other plans for me. Paradise sounds nice! I hope to visit California someday. Stay cool 🩵

Solar for cooler air
I have solar.
Go swimming.
That's another great idea I didn't even think of because I was inland at the time of filming. Thanks for mentioning it!! 😀
