I enjoyed the 1st and 3rd Luigi's Mansion games but never had the 2nd during the short period I had my 3ds before getting rid of it so I was definitely interested even at 60 bucks. However as I went to preorder the new Zelda game I realized both it and this game were voucher eligible so I effectively did pay 20 dollars less than full price for both games.
I had no issue with the pricing if they had also included Luigi’s Mansion 1 with this game and released it as a dual pack similar to how Pikmin 1 & 2 and Bayonetta 1 & 2 were released
Definitely getting this one. My young son latched onto my copy of Luigi’s Mansion 3 last year and beat it over the summer, he will be thrilled to dive into this one.

I've never bought the excuse that the mini mission format makes sense for a handheld game. I mean for thing, the 3DS has the most convenient sleep mode ever. You literally just close it. So there's no need whatsoever to alter the game design or structure. Second, a mini mission structure tends to come with the mentality of "well it's a short mission, so there's no need to provide the option to save, they can do that at the end of each missio ", which is the exact OPPOSITE approach you want for a handheld game because it's not about gameplay being in predetermined short bursts, it's about the player being in control of how short those bursts are. Doesn't matter how short thet are if the player doesn't get a say in the matter. I don't care how short the mission is, if I need to get off a bus or train or something, I can't tell the driver to give me two more minutes, I just need to finish this mission, trust me it's only short. So it's a nonsensical decision. A handheld game should have a normal structure, but with the ability to save anywhere, any time. Or, like I said, the ability to just close the system and go to sleep mode, which every 3DS game had by default.
