To guys who will do this in future. Take all clips out before returning roof back. Repair clips. Clips have two types of retaining feathers. Bigger ones are for temporary fixing. Smaller ones have slot for flat screwdriver and You have to return them to original position. They will expand once you tighten screws and hold to metal. Those clips have their slot in plastic so you can preassemble everything prior returning roof in car.
Is it safe to drive the car around with the airbags exposed? I taking my headliner to an upholstery guy and hes gonna have it for a few days but i need to drive my car to work. Just wondering if its possible
Yes I think is safe cuz airbags sensors are not inside just make sure you don’t hit those cylinders with something solid. I had some sweats when I worked around them to not create an electric shortage or something
I know, I had the same issue, more than 50% of my time was dedicated to that. VW did a shitty job with those clips. Or they did it on purpose so you buy new ones (if they exist), or you take your car to them for repair of roofliner

THIS is the advice that should be at the top for reassembly.
