The game runs at 1080p 30fps up to 60fps with VRR
is it worth running it at 60 fps with VRR? or is it better to guarantee 1080p with 30fps?
is it 1080p native but it upscales to 4k?

Maurice Thanks for this , this proves the series s is not to be underestimated. It’s a very powerful console, it’s in line with top performing gaming computers. My mind is blown on how good this game looks on series s . So much power from that tiny console.
I’m just blown away, I don’t even know what to say. For 300 dollars or euros you get that much power in that tiny console

Following on from my comment a month ago, I took the plunge and got an Series S to play this. Went straight to the New York discovery flight and was astonished at how smooth it runs! There was a bit of pop in, in the distance but that's it, everything else ran smooth as butter with ZERO stuttering. Asobo have done an astounding job porting this to consoles!

I played this last night for the first time on the XSX and it blew me away. I couldn’t believe how great it runs and it’s so relaxing to jump in a just fly around. Looks like the flight stick takes it to another level!

This game is stunning. The Series S is running it so smoothly, that's crazy!
It shows just how powerful the S truly is! When I first heard the specs for the S, I was disappointed because it looked like it was lass powerful than the 1X. FS shows how wrong that was and all the naysayers. The S may be less powerful than the Series X, but my 1X can’t even run FS while it (S) runs FS flawlessly! Obviously, the S is more powerful than the 1X by a bunch! Can’t wait till Halo Infinite comes out. The S will stun once again!

This is one of those games where you can say that this is not possible on xbox one
Or the 1X. The S shows it’s true power for all the nay sayers! It looks outstanding on my 70” 4K. This one game proves what I've been saying all along, the S can do just as well as the X in terms of resolution. The X only beats the S when it comes to frame rate and 4K. The S can handle 4K@60HZ and even though it’s upscale, it looks just as good as the native 4K of the X. FS proves that. Now, the X does have more memory than the S so, there is some 'pop-up' that I have noticed but it is minor and not an issue. In fact, I would be surprised if there weren’t some on a game of this size but it really is very minor. The developers really have done an impressive piece of work. I tried to load it on my 1X but was told it was not compatible. I thought there might be 'smart' delivery for the 1X but no. I'm beginning to wonder if this will happen for Halo Infinite?

I got an s just so I could play flight simulator. Not desire to upgrade to a series x now.
Fantastic little machine just the storage issues and the price for ssd storage.
If you're only playing FS and a few smaller games, not even a big deal =). I use mine for Flight Simulator and the few games that aren't on PS5 or Switch (such as the 360 back catalog).
Was waiting for your review on this one, thank you for mentioning the FPS with VRR enabled as most people aren't testing that.
Series S is the BEST choice between performance and graphics!

I played it yesterday and think that's the most impressive game i have ever played.
What they achived with this console version is amazing on both series S and X, plus yesterday update on PC made the performance 50% better

It's sad that I had to accidentally run into a Series S video. Just reading or hearing about the differences between S/X and PS5 game performances seem to make the S seem like a horrible choice. Actually seeing video (or experiencing it) shows that while the quality can vary between game and/or developer, a majority of the time you will get a nice-but-not-the-best-looking experience with good FPS to boot.
I'll put it this way. If I could go back in time and secure a Series X at launch the way I did originally I probably would. At the same time, I'm happy enough with my S and PS5 that if I was offered a way to trade the S for an X I wouldn't do it.
The only reason I’m waiting it out for a series X is because the S can’t have discs. It definitely seems extremely good for the money

Played this for 3 hours last night on my Series S. Fantastic game. One thing, my console was burning hot while playing the game. Dont know if thats because its taxing the processor or not

Devs should focus on optimisation . This proves Console is right machine for gaming.
You can use a mouse with the Xbox on this game, might make it a bit easier when using the buttons in cockpit. Just a tip

After seeing this and other videos i am SERIOUSLY tempted to order a Series S just to play this game. From what I have read, the Series S runs smoother (less hitching) than Series X due to it running at 1080p and having less draw distance, thus reducing the amount of data being streamed at once. Asobo have worked wonders getting it running so well on Series S considering it only has 8GB RAM!

@@icemilo9584 True but I think only 8 is usable for games. Not fully sure how the 8gb / 2gb split pool RAM works.
I bought the series s recently and sure its powerful for how small it is but It makes no sense that a previous generation One X is more capable and was selling for the same price before the console shortage.
The One X has more slightly more RAM and supports 4K, but the Series S is more powerful in every other way.
I only installed the base game and didn't installed the offline mode. I don't know if that would affect the performance, I have a good internet connection btw.

If you have a PC, all games on the Series S are on there.

Not sure why but my Hotas one default mapping does not match with any buttons so I had to manually delete and remap the control, sucks that we have to calibrate sensitivity every time I restart the game. Almost a month passed and they haven’t come out with any updates.
There is no series x available. Does it worth buying the series S to play this game ?
They also fixed the please wait downloading problem for the PCs.. Very slow download and I have 200 mbps internet I think it's due to many downloading at this time.. Microsoft should put there 125 gigs onto CDs and sell them at a discount so you don't have to download for 2 days..

You can't do much better than $299 for a console that plays this at roughly medium-high settings... an equivalent PC would sail well past $1000. And the X does it even better!

Plug and play, but you still need the Xbox controller for the menu's
Ah perfect. Mine arrives today so ill give it a go. Might improve on last nights attempt with a controller where i barely got off the ground 😂
Any word yet on the expected update to fix button issues? I quit using the flight sim until we get a fix for the t-flight, using the xbox controller is no fun :)

Only if you own the Windows store version, if you own the steam version it doesn't work.
I find a Bluetooth mouse is easier to use than the x box controller.
Hi!! Im having problems in series s with the menus.... Cant accept any introductory flight, cant move in the control menu, cant choose any airports in World map....... Its like the gamepad has problem with my xbox game pass installation. Actually o dont get that circle i can see in the video.. Any help please??
For the most part the game runs amazingly well on the series s but on the Norway maps it’s suffers from awful pop on on the mountains. Have you noticed this at all. Seems to be especially bad on this map compared to any other. Thanks.
I see you are using the rudder twist instead of the tilting bar for rudder. The rudder twist is completely unusable for me on the Hotas One because the drift it’s developed after just a month or so is completely intolerable. How long have you been using the hotas; is it still functioning drift-free?
Seems bound to happen with this Hotas, just the length of time for it to happen is different. You're pretty unlucky to have it develop after a month

Are all of your buttons mapped properly in default for the T-Flight? Mine aren’t… such as B4 which does nothing.

If you buy the premium edition you can download that one. If you only have game pass you get the standard version.

Did you have to remap the controls for the hotas one? I notice a lot of people including me with the button layout not matching up with the default controls. I'd have to either use a mouse or my xbox controller for certain commands.
Only in the menu's i needed to use the controller.
yes the buttons on the Hotas One do not work properly , hopefully this bug is fixed soon.

@@mrmarzo Apparently Thrustmaster and Asobo are working on a solution.There's a workaround but it's a mess. Thrustmaster have released a new graphic with the correct default mapping on their twitter feed.

How much money do you have? You could get a series s + ps5 or series X + ps5 digital. It depends on you! I have series s + ps5 and it’s perfect for me.
Series X + PS5 digital as, for the moment, getting a Series X is GALAXIES EASIER than getting a PS5 disc
