- Imaging deep sky objects under the bright moon requires smart planning and the right equipment. Even then, image processing is always a significant challenge. For best results, choose your targets wisely and know your equipment & software tools. In this video I imaged the Fireworks galaxy (NGC 6946) and the M92 globular cluster. Oh, and why not, I imaged the moon as well.

Another excellent video, Paul! Great contrast of diverse targets!
I especially liked the moon images -and your annotations! We always forget that the moon has fascinating features to examine! Also, the contrast in versions of the Fireworks Galaxy (NGC 6946) is a lesson in how results can vary night to night! Of course, when in doubt shoot a star cluster ;-) ...so M92 turned out fine! Final thought: Wow! Your nights are very short, but at least you can see the sky. . .I may need to wait until late summer /fall in CA ... the way this season is going!
Keep going! Mark!
I like that - "when in doubt; shoot a star cluster - so true!". Since we do not use seasonal (1 hour) time adjustments here, it gets dark quite early; hence the sun is now up around 4:25 am in the summer! Cheers, Mark!
Very impressive! I never get tired of moon shots though I have made already so many of them. Hope you can make some nice shots of the milky-way.
Hey Matthias, The Milky Way is certainly my next target when this rainy season ends. I am itching to use that EOS R8! Thanks for watching & commenting!
@@jpastroguy Indeed! The milky way is a good subject to try your new camera, but admit that I never succeeded to make a good photo of the milky way from my home. Hope you will do better!
@@matthiasharbers2533 Not planning on doing it from my home! I already showed in APJ Episode 17 that was not possible.
@@jpastroguy Correct! Not directly from the roof of our house. Where will you go to give it a try?
@@matthiasharbers2533 Probably Izu or Chiba.
