First time I saw Doug was early one Sunday morning on the CBC in the early 70's. I fell in love with the band and Doug's quirky sound. Saw him at Hard Rock in Toronto just before he passed. RIP Doug!
worked with doug back in 1976 at the old georgia straight in vancouver. i was the old art director and doug would come in with the cartoon he was working on for the issue and sometimes he help me with the paste up and we would just hang out. this was way before he started singing and his band. really nice guy ! left much too early. rest in peace brother.
Oh my goodness! Thank you Alan for sharing your story. I also had the privledge of knowing and hanging out with Doug. What a beautiful soul. Rest In Peace. We miss you Doug.
Thanks for sharing. Doug was so amazing. My brother is an original Slug and I knew all tbe band before Doug linked up and Doug and the Slugs was born . First show was a practice at a party in a friends huge open basement in Kits
Doug was one cool Canadian. So much more than the musical talent was his creative genius that was his life. Living on through his beautiful family, always .RIP
So now I’m going from song to song tonight! What a treat! Truly one of my favourite bands. Lots of their songs in my favourite playlist. Always lifts me up. The stories of the lives of ordinary people. 😊
I rewatch this late at night many a time - a great performance, and interaction with the audience. Good music, humour, exuberance. Wish I had been there that night.
Halifax , Misty Moon ... i saw him there many times .... and the ol' moon , on kempt road , long while ago . great party band !! ... he would talk to ya' too . ! ... gone too early !
this is a great video saw these guys, david wilcox and alot of 80's ass kickers in the old barrymores in ottawa a lot more to this than rap etc of today
Gottingen Street, at the foot of Cunard. Until the sun comes up. Also Kempt Road and finally Barrington. A Misty mood staple. We all miss those days. R.I.P. Doug.
Hey D&TS fellow fans!!! Can anyone tell me where that concert took place? I searched: "Day by Day, The Ingy" and this video came-up. The only live performance I ever had a chance to see was at The Ingraham Hotel in Victoria in 2004/5(?). It was absolutely stellar and hilarious just like this one! I would be grateful if anyone who remembers that ( his last live? ) performance. Even as he was falling-down he was lifting-up others. 😂💙
I don't think Doug ever got the recognition he should have got he was a way better than we realized 🎶🇨🇦👌
Love it!!!!
I was in a bad car accident , and when I'm in pain . This song help me , thank you Doug and the Slug . xoxo
