Glenn is one of the best songwriters of the 20th century. So glad he is still around, performing and sounding GREAT! Thank you Daryl for having him on your wonderful show.
Don't forget the other incredible vocalist from Squeeze who is still gigging regularly today and with a voice that is outstandingly good, Mr " Paul Carrack ". Its about time he was on with Daryl and the band. Now that would be an episode for the history books.
Saw them support Madness, my wife wasn’t really aware of their songs. She asked after the night why Madness hadn’t supported Squeeze, they were stunning live!

Shortly after 9/11 my buddy Jim called me and said “Hey, Glenn Tilbrook is playing at Grand Central Station.” I asked him if it was a big concert. “Nope. Just Glenn and a guitar.” Needless to say, I was there in about 15 minutes to see his second set. I don’t know why he was preforming in a nook at Grand Central, but I do know that after the stress, sadness, and chaos that permeated NYC, Glenn succeeded to bring a little normalcy and happiness to me. I have always been a big fan of Glenn and Squeeze, but on a personal level, he brought a touch of light to a dreary time. It was a privilege to be there front and center.
Glenn's voice! Still so clear! Still got that range! So great to see all of the gang back as well looking, singing and playing fantastic. 2023 has gifted us!! Welcome back, gang!
Love this song! I loved seeing Squeeze on tour with Daryl Hall and John Oates in 2021. It's great to see Daryl Hall & Glenn Tilbrook playing music together!
Oh man I am home again. Thank you Daryl for doing what you do so well, singing, and playing your beautiful songs, and bringing the best out and others as they sing theirs. Thank you Daryl❤️❤️❤️❤️ please record these, so we can buy the CDs and make you richer lol
Just great to see this sieries back with fresh guests, Daryl Hall has been doing the world of live music such a good service with his work on/at Daryl’s House. And also great to see Glen Tillbrook getting some well deserved recognition. I grew up in 60’s 70’s and 80’s London with Squeeze as a part of the soundtrack, Today I live in New England and it’s amazing to see this song reimagined by a select personnel of seasoned American session players. Not least to hear this one again but also to hear it acknowledged how sophisticated Glen’s songs truly are.
This is awesome! I love Gifford and Tillbrook. Saw them at the NY public Library a few years ago. And he’s also an under rated guitar player. His solos are so catchy and end perfectly They toured with The Police so Sting loves these guys.
Glenn Tilbrook one of the most unrecognised songwriting talents in British music history. I saw Squeeze a couple of times back then including down Chiselhurst Caves at a private gig. Just brilliant! His best for me though is Cowboys are my Weakness.
As someone who had purchased nearly the entire catalogs of both Hall & Oates and the Squeeze on vinyl as they were released, this was such a treat to hear. Glenn's voice & guitar sounding as good today as when Black Coffee was released, 41 years ago. Happy memories, thanks All.
If there was any glimmer of meritocracy in the music industry, Difford and Tilbrook would be given all the gongs available, their songs are masterpieces, just savour those lyrics.
GLENN has the liquid God given tone much like McCartney or Elvis. Very easy on the ears. He is very cool and Darryl and Darryl and his other brother Darryl ain't too shabby either! Thankyou guys for being so soul driven in your craft! Smooth as a baby's ass!

Glen is just the complete musician , always has been, from early Squeeze right through till now. The original backing vocals on this included Elivis Costello and Paul Young ..great track
Such a fan of squeeze, and Glenn Tilbrook. Grew up in the 80s. I’ve seen him twice solo at a place called the Stephen Talkhouse. I believe it’s in Amagansett. It was just him, and the lights went out. The power went out. He took us outside into the street. I think it was Main Street And we all gathered around him and he continued to play squeeze songs. One of my favorite moments ever and I’ve seen a lot of shows. And I’ve seen squeeze many times. I’ve actually seen them I believe with general public squeeze and Hall & Oates on the same bill. Unless I’m dreaming it I’m old. 🙃
I’m sooooo excited for the new season! I’ve watched previous episodes a million times, lol! You were definitely the pioneer of creating great musical content on UA-cam! It was so refreshing watching AUTHENTIC TALENTED LIVE MUSICIANS of all genres play with you and your talented band. You are one of the best musicians & singers still in the game today!
Oh gracious, Daryl is back!! My first music of the day. How wonderful. As it happens, i am having coffee in bed today! (Rotator cuff surgery) XO from pittsburgh, pa
I saw Squeeze in the 90s and was struck by Glenn's guitar tones...just a Tele, Mesa combo and maybe 4 pedals and it sounded perfect, every song. And his playing was lights-out all night.
Man- I remember when I first entered London at 24 and fell in love with all things English and Squeeze was certainly at the top of the list…….wonderful memories of coming home late on the tube wearing out my cassette tapes of Squeeze, Elvis Costello, the Clash etc . I was ecstatic for the first time in my life and this was the sound track of that life……
That was awesome I’m am glad Daryl is back bringing great artist giving us great music to listen to on UA-cam. Daryl should put all these calibration on LP’s or sell them so we can buy. Love all the live music you are putting out. ☝🏽❤️🙏🏽 keep it going.
Glenn looks fantastic-immortal. He's still in full voice and his guitar work is magic. I saw him solo and with Squeeze about five times the past several years and it's never disappointing.
OMG!! Best JAMS in the whole wide world EVERRRRR!! ... are back and being recorded for all of us, and lucky generations to come!!! FANTASTIC!! THANK YOU DARYL AND THE GANG!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE
What a perfect guest and musician to start this all up again. Squeeze and this song, and many of their others take me back to my college days in the 80’s where I was introduced to their music and just fell in love. What melodies and vocals! Thank you Daryl and friends for starting this season off with a gifted singer and songwriter. Lots of memories connected to this group!
Off the back of seeing Squeeze in Cambridge a couple of weeks ago, I can confirm one of the best live acts I’ve ever seen. Absolutely fantastic and recommend to ANYONE if you ever get the chance.
Saw Squeeze at Hatfield poly in 82/83 - they played to a crowd of 4, gave up after 3 songs and came and drank with us at the bar until close. Great bunch of lads.
Daryl is very brave to push himself to hit notes that his throat doesn't quite agree with, and he doesn't wuss out and drop key - Huge respect to him. God bless and more power to him, and many more years, please and thank you 🙏🏻
I'm soooo glad you're back! Wait for me...I'll be singing at Carnegie Hall November 10-14... I'll bring my Hall and Oates piano book for you to sign! All I can say Thank God for UA-cam!
Glenn and Daryl's voices mesh so well together. Glenn's songs could have so easily fitted into the Hall and Oates catalogue. Well...nearly. He's a Brit after all!!
So wonderful, Darryl, you and your singing just seem to age like fine wine. Please consider putting together an album with many of your great Darryl's House tracks.
Glenn's voice is still so crisp and clear....
As much as I love Daryl Hall I think Glenn sounded better on this one.
Dude looks great too.
Ya Glenn sounds like 1982 kinda amazing
one of the most distinct and perfect voices in rock music history
He still has a great voice - credit also has to go to Chris for great lyrics (as usual)
Glenn is one of the best songwriters of the 20th century. So glad he is still around, performing and sounding GREAT! Thank you Daryl for having him on your wonderful show.
Lol
What a voice Glenn still has. One of the greats along with Chris Difford
Don't forget the other incredible vocalist from Squeeze who is still gigging regularly today and with a voice that is outstandingly good, Mr " Paul Carrack ". Its about time he was on with Daryl and the band.
Now that would be an episode for the history books.
Chris Difford is the other main vocalist and songwriter. Paul was only with Squeeze for a short time.
@@FacheChanteDeux When Paul was with squeeze it was the best they ever sounded.
and Yes we all know Difford was the other vocalist.
Oh yesssssssss ! So glad LFDH is back. Proper music, proper musicians, proper artiste`s, doing it live............Pure gold. 😁🤩☺
Absolutely…!
You do NOT know HOW happy I am to see LFDH back! And this song brings back SO many memories of university … !

Glenn’s voice has stood the test of time and held up remarkably well .
SO GLAD to have this show back!!!!!!! Best in the Business.
Backing vocals as I listened I was O.M.G. They did it ! They fricken did it ! Sweet !😮
Saw them support Madness, my wife wasn’t really aware of their songs. She asked after the night why Madness hadn’t supported Squeeze, they were stunning live!
They alternated on that tour....
Holy crap! Thought I was listening to Squeeze circa 1982. Vocalist’s voice sounds fresh
So glad you’re back! Glenn Tillbrook is a fantastic songwriter - truly enjoyed seeing him perform!

Daryl Hall is 77 years old! Still has an incredible voice.
He seems like such a great guy. Don’t you think?
What a great singer/musician/songwriter Glenn Tilbrook is. Still don't understand how Squeeze didn't take over the entire free world.
This band is soooooo good.
Ciao from Italy here I am for new season

I love the backups on this song. Black, coffee in bed, black, black coffee in bed, black black black coffee in bed
Glenn tilbrook is simply amazing!!
I remember when Squeeze did this song on the Uncle Floyd show. Such great songs. One of my favorite albums is Some Fantastic Place.
I could not be happier that Daryl is back in action with this show. It's my favorite. I've seen Squeeze live and Glenn's voice is amazing live.

to me what makes a good song is good music Good lyrics and good vocals Hall & Oates had all of those
there were a lot of good bands back then and I listen to most of them and I have a few favorite bands but Hall & Oates was right up there in the top five I remember putting H2O in my walkman and sticking my earbud headphones in my ears and putting my helmet on and just rolling that power on my dirt bike hauling ass across the California desert listening to Some Men Diddy Doo Wop or Open All Night
Daryl Hall and John Oates will play forever in my memories
the music from my youth is my photo album almost every song has a story and brings back memories
