I love how you've been doing these, maybe you could do more Railway Series Book Sets in the future. Though like in your Flying Kipper set, I feel like this one would also feature an Old Shape Henry, just to give it that original feel. Great work and I hope to see a lot more of these sorts of sets!
If I made this set, the only change I would make is I would add a lot more straight track between the tunnels and the climb up the hill as well as before the tunnels since there are many scenes that take place on straight lines like Gordon zooming through Maron, Edward and Henry delivering the express to Wellsworth, and even Gordon bursting his safety valve. Also Id add another siding to the tunnel Henry is shut in as Gordon moves to the siding after he pops his valve.
I love this concept a lot, but I would move the stop track from Wellsworth to Gordon's Hill, so that Gordon could get stuck on it, then Edward would push him out and stop on the same place to rest. Other than that it's perfect
A thought for an expansion. A mixed straight and curve pack including two green express coaches to make the four coach express as seen in Edward, Gordon & Henry.
James in a Mess is on the list, I'll add Foolish Freight Cars and Thomas & the Trucks. I'm not too keen on doing any of the three railway engines stories separately though. I mentioned my reasoning for Sad Story on Henry in this video, and I feel largely the same about the other two
I really like to set and if I was you I would go to the trouble of making the ultimate season 1 set or hell Railway series sets just so this wouldn't be the only one based on a book I would make this a series if all the other the books
I think you should do a set based off of Toby's three episodes from the books/season 1: Toby and the Stout Gentleman, Thomas Breaks the Rules and Dirty Objects.
neat set, but it falls in the common trap of designing sets really indulgently. i mean, come on. they're not going to just throw in five sheds. Or any of that silly "titles replaced to be RWS accurate" stuff. even as a commemorative set, that's just not realistic. the point may not be to make a set that tomy would actually make, but if that's not what you're going for then at that point why not just make a whole fully featured layout? what's the point of setting the challenge and limitation of designing a set that would realistically be sold if you're just going to add all this crazy stuff anyways?

You should do more this have a set based on a book in the railway series and have bits to resembling the four stories in said book
