I don't like this Emily. She's nowhere near as accurate as the 2018 Wood Emily model. The face placement is sooooo wrong! It needs to be on the rear like it is in the RWS books by the Rev. Roybert Wilson. There's a *reason* the official wooden Emily toys have a short funnel: *Chuggington destination clearance!* That's also why characters like Harvey and the Breakdown Train only lasted a year in the TWR range - they were too tall to fit under LC56803 Double-Decker Roundhouse (with Elevating Turntable). You did not aggressively sand down Emily until the model was paper thin in order to fit under any destination (including underneath the doors of the Roundhouse), nor did you make the model completely detachable using Mega Bloks bricks (it would be illegal to use Lego bricks since Lego has not owned the rights to Thomas & Friends since 1671). Lastly, she probably doesn't fit on the 33361 Brio Mechanical Turntable, which is pure lunacy.
Furthermore, the 2018 Thomas Wood Emily is also perfect because of its correct proportions and face structure, unlike your attempt. It is important to consider that these models need to be able to work properly and fit to scale because they are toys and not models. The models I use in my series are extremely accurate because they are Trainz models. It's clear your customs need work. As the Reverand Roybert said: "you can't do it!"
*Edit* If you've read this far, please note that this is a shitpost, and that Gio and I are actually good friends! :)
There is no excuse, this was a disservice to the Rev. Roybert Wilson, I should go to my shed and think about all the ways I can be really useful.
Why don’t you like this Emily?
If I had this my way, I would use the knock off wooden railway Emily and the 2021 book box and running board and the Trackmaster song face
And don’t forget to take along Emily tender
@@robbycastelli6486 Because it sucks and my opinion is the only one that matters
Such impressive work. I love how you take the knock off trains and turn them into something marvelous.
Took the words straight out of my mouth
@Enterprisingengine93 The fans do what Mattel absolutely refuses to.
I own the Wooden Railway Hank, but always found it odd how it both does & doesn't look like a PRR K4s. So my question is, could we get a 'Most accurate Wooden Hank' in the future?
It would be lovely
Bet, I'll have two ruby my k4 oc and Hank ruby will be for a reference
maybe sense geoh does like side characters like Emily i could defentely see hank in that category
@@Trainkid8 I might see if geoh wants to do a collaboration with me doing my irl k4 oc and him doing hank
I think Hank is overall fine (aside from the playability hit of no front magnet), and trying to mess with him too much would make him a space hog.
I just got to say your custom here is definitely an upgrade from the original toy.
I get that the whole style of wooden railway is to be simplified versions of the models, but Emily‘s model honestly looked more like a 2-2-2 bloomer than a gnr stirling single
Now imagine if HIT Entertainment or Mattel had introduced a character based on the LNWR Bloomer class 2-2-2?
@@Iron_Blood_Enjoyer1933
Awdry did have a bloomer on his layout, so that would be pretty neat
It's not an upgrade IMO. It _looks_ good (aside from the face placement), but it essentially minmaxed on looks - that funnel means it can't clear most bridges and tunnels. I do agree that the original official design was bad, though; Emily's proportions suffered *heavily* from the decision to give everybody Gordon-size faces (a decision that should have been reversed years sooner than it was).
I think you'd be better off coupling a 2004-2017 tender (where the coal rails are actually part of the jigsaw instead of just painted on) to a 2019 body (which has way better proportions than the older Emily version). Or if you're going to be super fussed about wheel arrangement accuracy, get the 2022 Emily and call it a day.
@@ZeldaTheSwordsmanever heard of an opinion? Also you’re literally saying effectively the same thing in every reply section so please stop.
that might be a fun custom project to make that out of an Emily! Thanks for the comment
“Then I primed it and then I gave it a light sand” has the same energy as “crazy? I was crazy once”
XD that was the idea! Glad you caught it. Thanks for the comment
I think we can all agree that wooden railway never made a perfect Emily until now. Geoh this is such an amazing representation of Emily and it’s MILES better than the actual product well done as always!
What about the 2023 version🤔
@@Steamtheamaricanengine it’s good but it it’s not perfect but it was close.
@@Splendid_Studios i know but hey atleast it looked good i say looked bc this took the top spot now that i thibk about it
Agreed
Dude Emily looks so gorgeous! I will admit Emily definitely has a troubling history with merchandise and while I don't mind some of the merchandise as it's meant to be simplistic this just goes to show that you can make little toys for kids look accurate. It also shows you can take something hideous and make it beautiful too! One of your best customs yet and I hope you make her coaches to go with her. Keep up the good work Geoh!
No, the 2019 Emily shows that you can make little toys for kids look accurate. The 2022 Emily shows that you can make toys for little kids look accurate.
This custom minmaxed on looks at the expense of playability, and thus is a very poor toy for kids. It's a good _display_ piece (aside from the face placement), but that tall funnel means you can forget getting it through most tunnels and under most bridges.
@@ZeldaTheSwordsman Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa! Who are you to come here and start judging. The 2019 Emily isn't even good. And even though the 2022 version is way better it still leaves a lot to be desired.
She’s a fabulous custom! Next custom you make, try a Small Scale Percy to make him accurate.
Wow, Emily looks fantastic, loved watching your process. The Dremel is one of my favorite tools ever, i do most of my customizing with one. Reguarding the paint, I believe your main issue is you are painting a little too close, and too heavy of a coat. It's better to spray an arms length or 6-8 inches away, and do multiple light coats. Doing too close and too heavy, with a mix of cold air will make the paint crack or orange peel. Same goes for the clearcoat, and last but not least, make sure the cans are evenly shakened, and are at room temperature, hope this helps! Fantastic work as always.
Thanks for the tips and comment! Appreciate it!!
This is genuinely fantastic work. The frequent weird inaccuracies with the wood toy lines were usually part of why I’ve never really been a huge fan of them, and it makes me wish that a new one actually had that sense of polish and detail that both kids and older audiences can truly appreciate.
Ever seen the 2022 Emily?
9:42 Hope we can see more of Emily's 6 wheel tender in future, it looks a bit more realistic and accurate in my view. Great video mate, best wishes from the UK as always. 😊
@geohtoy @GeohToy
Wow! That custom Emily is amazing! And I love the mix of UK and US at the end! I'd love it if you did this for all future endings of videos of your custom Wooden Railway models!
Oh, and word of advice, the Rustoleum spray paint takes around 5-7 days to truly dry from my experience with it, so I’d recommend leaving that paint to dry for a week at most and 5 days at least.
If I had a nickel for every time Geoh mentioned Wood Filler, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but its weird that it happened twice
(Jokes aside, amazing custom as usual man!)
its been more than 2 id be covered in nickels
@@robohuntero1828Exactly man. I'm cashing my check lol
* A suggestion with why your paint may be acting up:
* You need to be lighter with your spray painting I think. Do like, a quick flick across, stop, then repeat until the surface is fully covered, and it makes an even coat that doesn't clot or crack, because from what I can see in the video you moreso just hold it on the surface until it's covered.
* Other than that, DUDE THIS IS AMAZING!! Finally an actually good Wooden Emily model, this is genuinely super incredible I wish I had your talent
Thank you so much for the tips! Really appreciate it
Tbh this is the best twr custom you’ve done so far in my opinion.
I personally think it's a terrible custom unless all you want to use it for is display.
@@ZeldaTheSwordsman wheres your at then-?
This might be your best custom. In my opinion it looks so good. It’s mind-boggling. This is definitely the best Emily custom I’ve seen.
22:59 I love this shot
I was browsing twitter, and I GASPED when i saw this. This is absolutely stunning!
The oart when the tape peeled off the lines on her cab is relatable, I normally remove the tape before i let the painted area dry and then retape it lol
I may take some notes for my customs honestly
Hi :3
@@TessfromKellstorpe eyyyyy!! Hi!
@@allenginesgofan101iambeing4 hello!
This is astounding!
Emily always was a character that seemed to get the short end of the stick being translated in merchandise (along with Molly), and that sucks because she is one of my favorite characters. Seeing this first at Brampton and I was absolutely blown away how good she looks. From her green paint color, her shape of her boiler, and that gorgeous gold lining. Definitely your finest custom to date, Gio!
Also, thanks for the little shoutout at the end. It was a great time meeting you North of the Border, along with so many others.
Have a gander at the 2019 and 2022 wooden versions of Emily. Letting her have a smaller face instead of forcing a Gordon-size one on her did wonders for her proportions.
Also, FWIW I'd say Molly fared better than Emily in wooden stuff (at least originally, Emily has since gotten a better deal), even with the "outdated face" issue. Molly didn't end up with a Gordon and Henry stub of a funnel like old versions of Emily did.
@@ZeldaTheSwordsman Lol no.
I have no words, this is the best custom I’ve seen, and I’m sure a lot of other people would say the same
I thought the next one would be Stepney but I guess not, no matter, this is literally so AWESOME
Dude! Emily looks so good! You did such a good job with her!
You should consider doing James soon; his running board NEEDS to be lengthened on his Wooden Railway model.
Another character who’s Wooden Railway model misses the mark is Murdoch, who’s supposed to have at least 10 driving wheels. Yet his model still has 8 like everyone else. He comes in second place in the “Missing the Mark” contest. First place is Emily, no contest.
instead of mod podge spray, i’d recommend either “tamiya clear or flat clear spray,” or “mr hobby clear.” they are more expensive, but paint peeling and bubbling won’t happen.
This man really just made his own toy, and it turned out awesome
A note to spray paint: don’t spray so heavily in one spray. Sorta “pulse” it while going back and forth for a light coat
This custom Emily model looks stunning! Brilliant job on this!
Now This Is A Great Model Now This Is How Emily's Prop Model Looks.🤩
I’m hella impressed by how you managed to make an accurate version of Emily for Wooden Railway.
Not all heroes wear capes 🫡
This is so cool! It’s definitely a upgrade from any model of her. Her wooden railway models just look too, stumpy. You should try making a accurate Percy!
this is probably the best wooden railway custom I've ever seen
Outstanding Achievement you really captured the Emily 😃👍
I like the ideaof using mass produced bootleg trains to make customs instead of official ones because the official ones are limited and of higher quality
amazing work like always and it warms my heart knowing that my idea didn't go to waste and helped u make this beautiful model and also i really appreciate the shout out thank u geoh 😊
This is an absolutely gorgeous model! In my opinion, Emily usually tends to get the short end of the stick when it comes to merchandise (I see her Horby model in my nightmares XD) and you really did her justice here. Kudos to you!
She’s so gorgeous! Your best model yet!
Dude you need to do Edward, I don’t wanna look at a “K2” out there looking like Thomas with a tender
Make sure emily's 6 wheel tender goes around tight cures
Thanks for the tip! I'm using a standard Thomas chassis with 6 wheels so should make it.
Wow! Emily looks great! 👍
Honestly, i prefer the 4-wheeled tender, the proportions look phenominal.
With spray paint you never want to start spraying directly on the surface, start spraying off to the side, and give the surface even quick strokes
6:08 Whos happy he FINALLY got the dang Milliput? 👇
As a Gunpla builder and amateur diorama maker, your videos have been such a HUGE help! I don't have much experience with wood and cardstock as I usually use plaplate but ever since I watched your Aqours club room video, I've been able to get better working with the materials and been wanting to do something similar with my Nozomi figures once I get the time to do so. Thank you for sharing your work and wishing you all the best!~
Hey so happy and honored to hear it inspired you! I'd love to see what you end up making for Nozomi! You might need Eli to go with her though ;D
Excellent Emily model!
I have a challenge for you! These engines are small but full of detail… make Bill & Ben! These little buggers are the perfect challenge
The perfect Emily doesn’t exist-
The perfect Emily :
I never understood why they never made Emily right in the first place… (btw I think you should do all the first 11 characters, that be pretty cool)
Your Custom Thomas Wooden Railway Emily is Gorgeous!
You nailed it with that dark green you gave her. That smokebox looks like it was pulled straight from the show and resized to fit the TWR scale.
You are an inspiration to us all Geoh.
These were my childhood toy trains. I like how u made it accurate
Very nice custom twr Emily 👍
If you want to have little to no chances of the paint cracking when applying a clear coat, I'd recommend using Tamiya Flat Clear/Gloss
Now we need either a Rocky or a Judy and Jerome-
Actually, there’s an idea for the larger tender- give it the 12 so both tenders have a place in your Wooden Railway fleet
I don't know why but- this video gave me the motivation to make artwork of Emily...
Emily looks so amazing, This is what The Wooden Railway Emily should’ve looked like and you should make an accurate Wooden Railway Edward custom next
Wow. WOW! This is more splendid than James! Once again, awesome model! It’s so perfect! Keep up the good work! (Without stressing yourself out)👍👍👍
great emily custom geoh! absolutelly spot on.
Fantastic work on this custom! The detail and accuracy you were able to add on this engine is really cool!
That Thomas Landbus took me completely by surprise LOL
I really love the fact that you used tape for the pinstriping!!!! I wish I could do that too!!!!
Nice job on your custom model of Emily, Geoh!
Through the whole video I focussed on your process on Emily and was waiting for something bad to happen
and the wheels were that something. Lmao
This man is about to make every engine look SPECTACULAR at this rate! Keep it up! ❤️
I found out you’ve had 5 knock off trains called Molly, Gordon, Oliver, Emily, and Henry, right?
Yes!
This guys kids are going to have the ultimate toy trains to play with someday
Great looking custom
She looks magnificent, now we need Donald & Douglas and Mavis with 2003 style
You are such an inspiration! You have some many amazing custom building ideas that would never occur to me. No doubt you are one of the best wooden railway modelers in the community!
My first of your videos was building CITY OF TRURO and ngl watching you build these customs is so much fun!
Can't wait for the next one
This model looks amazing well done Geoh I like it keep up the good work 22:34
The return of everybody's favourite, *Wood Filler!* You love to see it!
I always love seeing the process come along, it's always so satisfying.
So as for why you might be having trouble with the paint, stand back from your work piece, otherwise the paint will be too thick and run, and it might start to blister. It's much better to do multiple thinner coats rather than one thick coat.
This is basically the Toy Story version of life saving surgery
See now THIS is the type of train modelling I want to get into! I do lego trains, but this is so cool!
I love Lego trains too!
Such an Amazing Work right There, Emily looks Incredible!, Great Job.👍
This is a great custom model for Emily, I really liked the way you made the original Wooden Railway Emily longer, and using details from the bootleg Emily. The short length of the Wooden Railway Emily always bothered me, and the lack of certain details, like the additional two pilot wheels, a shorter, much stumpier funnel, and missing paint details also bothered me with the Wooden Railway Emily.
Great model! I was also disappointed by the wooden Emily as a kid, but I’m glad somebody decided to write those wrongs.
Also, I noticed that you’re working on a Wooden Railway improved James, and I can’t wait to see that!
This model you made is just so beautiful I love it. You made Emily so accurate 💚
If you want to avoid spray paint from caking up, try spraying from about 5 feet away. I could see in the video that you were pretty close to your workpieces, and I think that is what is causing your issues with the paint.
I also used to have this issue, but increasing the distant between me and the model made it go away.
This Emily looks great and I hope you continue to do great things!
23:08 this comparison bro
22:19 You just took that engine to Your wooden railway works And rebuilded emily! SO COOL!
You might try putting the paint on in thinner coats, that should at least help the paint being thick in the valleys, that's what I find helps when painting with rust oleum
Appreciate the tip! Thanks
I recently discovered your channel, and I'm glad I did, these models are very hard to make and I like wood
That was a very fun process and the final result really does look accurate.
i like how you censored the stamp plarail store logo like it's not sponsored by like half of the trackmaster youtubers
Wooden Railway, Hire him. He’s the best you’ll get.
Outstanding work! I was never a big fan of her official models, but you really crafted the perfect Emily. Phenomenal job! Can't wait to see which character you tackle next.
Wow! Beautiful job indeed!
You made a new one and went out of the park with this one.
You know a sponsor is good when you show off Kasumi in it
doki doki kira kira
3:20 HAMINATIONS REFERENCE, AND IT FIT PERFECTLY
Since Henry Was Used In this Can We Please Get an Accurate Henry custom Video PPPPLLLLEEEEAAAASSSSEEEE!!!!
This is absolutely what we should’ve gotten back in 2004.
You're a magician, this looks wonderful!!
Hearing Love Live and RR Slugger next to each other in the soundtrack is surreal to me, the only other person on Earth who watches both.
If you even want to make more perfect wooden railway engines, I'd go with Donald and Douglas, giving them some modifications to actually look like CR 812s
People who want him as your art teacher
👇
as a man who has used that spray pant ill give you a tip. when you are spraying, start the pant flow before the pant hits the thing you are trying to pant and move in quick swipes side to side. doing this won't clump the pant.
This is the definitive version of Wooden Railway Emily there is. The other wooden models look decent as the cab is a bit small and the funnel is a bit small. This is the case with the 2004 wooden Rheneas and 2003 wooden Stepney.
They’re really isn’t no *one quite like Emily friendly good all reliable Emily*
