There are many different types of food and beverage service types or procedures, but the major category of the food service are
1) American Service/Plate Service.
2) Gueridon Service/Cart Service.
3) Silver Service/Plater to Plate Service.
4) French Service.
5) Russian Service.
6) English Service/Family style service.

The only difference is in silver service is that silver cutlery and crockery is used.

It's not chef who cooks the food it's chef de rang . Position . Called as waiter also . And it's cook infront of customers and served . Right away not parsley cooked . Cooked fresh right infront of guests. I am telling coz I am head waiter working for cruise ships .
