If your going to dodge the free to play question then don't try to answers it at all. Can't even tell us if they allow rushing building with money, buying items with money, healing soldiers with money, moving soliders with money. Clearly the game is P2W, it's better as a F2P now so we can feel like sh$t later when a P2W player destroys 1 year of hard work? Nice. There are people who don't have 15 dollars to spend on rushing a building after they buy food. It's not a choice for me so please give me the honest answer, remove yourself from wanting noobs/F2P players to crush. Thanks.
My reply to another thread about this being an advanced city building (which it is not).... It's funny that this is considered advanced.... building just lets you access more of the same as other games and is just a much needed time filler and of course money grab for the developers. The game is incredibly boring most of the time, grinding at he start of each season is dull, and farming takes a huge amount of time. Battles are rare, and you find poaching, and some alliances need to be top dog means there are such incredible imbalances that 50% of the season is dead - alliances "merit battling" friendly alliances (aka boosting - how ridiculous), and the rest of the folks twiddling their thumbs, wasting money and getting locked into the game purely for having started it and having either nothing better to do with their lives and time or just the type of folks who enjoy watching paint dry. The game looks good, but the imbalance, the way alliances poach and band together, means the game truly is the most incredibly pointless one I have ever played and an utter waste of time.
I have been playing Rok since 4+ yrs in different kingdoms and several accounts.. and had quit the game once for 4 months or so earlier. But yesterday I quit both RoK and CoDr permanently .As a f2p and casual but daily logger had been playing both games but rl work and issues adding difficulty to try and compete like the past. I liked both Rok and Codr. But then it became boring too and lost motivation. I did enjoy playing Rok all these yrs and the community stuff. Graphics Gameplay of Codr is awesome and I'm glad I tried out that game during season 1. It's much better than Rok in gameplay but RoK have served us well all these yrs. Thank you and all popular RoK influencers for guiding us players..

In ROK, the bread and butter of f2p/low spenders which allows them to maintain surprisingly reasonable relevance vs. spenders include: 1. Barb chaining, SoC barbs 2. Hoarding for big pushes (zenith, big fights) and hoarding speeds to heal. 3. Scaling up many farms (sucks but highly effective) 4. Gem grinding - 3.5K gems a day is quite doable, 20K+ a week these are literally the FOUNDATIONAL tools a f2p/low spend can leverage to compete with mid+ spenders.
You aren't getting 3.5k gems a day lol. No way. You're getting maybe 1500k with non stop 24 hours a day. MAYBE. Understandably, most players can't play 24/7 so maybe will get 1k or less
You feel f2p can compete in rok is because either you have not tasted SOC, or your account is 2+ years old :) Hoarding speedup for zenith means you are not contributing in war (lol). f2p in call of dragons is slightly different because of the stamina mechanics. whale can have unlimited troops, but still have to think how to spend their heroes stamina. Also, you can't get zeroed in cod. The worst thing that can happen to a player in cod is 10% of your total troop dies. And the remaining 90% in hospital. You can still recover in a few days. In ROK, you lose almost everything when you get zeroed or defending tower. For f2p, that's game over.
The LORE is so underrated. There is so much more than just human, orcs, and elves. There are sub-races like the satyr, tavrosi, the grayclaw clan, etc. I am one of those people who enjoy the lore so much. I'm waiting for the new lore in season 2.
I actually like the story/lore and interaction with characters in this game. It keeps this from being just another point and click while being destroyed by people with no lives outside of mobile gaming. As a low spender in this and Rok, I look forward to the universal legendary heads at VIP 10 Rok has so I can save them and throw them at one good march later. Knowing the this game only uses token for ones you already have (and will be trash later) kills the day to day enjoyment. Why level up heroes now that will be useless later on.
honestly a huge issue I have with rok, is that it's old af and players have been min maxing since a long time ago which means for a newer player it will be incredibly hard to compete I mean just look at it, people make jumper accounts with which they get a huge advantage over every normal player, before they even start the game they are outclassed
That's why you can buy accounts for so cheap, but I do agree with most of what you said. I still think they should have added a season 5 kvk before season of conquest so you can have more fun before getting thrown into all the new commanders

I deleted the game yesterday. It is simply impossible for me to play ROK and COD. And COD does not give me any enjoyment. boring game, battle game mode is very monotonous and boring.
Hey Omniarch! Hope you get to spend some time in the game next season. It’s a lot of fun and after playing it extensively this past season I have to say that it’s not like RoK at all. There’s so many different war, combat mechanics and limitations that it is an entirely different game altogether. I got to play beast master and have to say that was one of the highlights of this season for me. You still have the drama, political intrigue and the community that RoK is known for.. I personally find CoD player base better overall. I look forward to more CoD content from you! ETA: yes you can move the behemoth on the field as a beast master and it adds layer of complexity to the battle.

This game would be pretty good except for some weird things. In the span of one week I was in 2 alliances that were both pretty good, they had about 100 members in each, they had lots of research done, a fortress, about 20 towers and lots of roads. Out of the blue, the leaders suddenly, without any warning or word, dissolved the alliances. Iv’e never seen anything like this happening before in any other game. The biggest problem is that I got put on this server where almost everyone on it speaks some language, I think either Malaysian or Indonesian. I have to translate every single message in chat and it’s a major pain! I cant change servers until I am level 16, and then it’s a pain in the butt to do
I think you're new to mmorts this happens to alliance that have no foundation whatsoever starting with no discord that's why I have my 3 year team since COVID never experienced since
They limited the amount of grinding FTP can do, but also limited the benefits you can get from spending money. This is a much better design for the majority of FTP players who doesn't grind 24/7. Also, Rise of Kingdoms is dead for FTP after crystal tech.

Oh man, the character design was my favorite part. I know you didn't really like/listen to the story, but they are all matching their personality in the story. I hope they add a KVK though, just a season reset feels so empty Edit: All those systems you said aren't in COD, are 100% coming. They weren't in cod for first years either.
Call of Dragons was the first to play and I love how much story telling it has and overall graphics and battle system is way too good with phisical/magical dmg and armor and flying units. Also skill tree is quite more friendly and I like the fact that legions must contain entirely with a type of units, is much faster to prepare a legion all you have to think is the heroes you want to use and pair considering also the way you tech tree them. From Call of Dragons I tested RoK and is quite cool, but I don't like the way that battles look like, is a big difference of look, it just feels like an old game. And tech tree is a bit repetitive for me, the main 3 tech trees are literally the same for a hero with others that have same tech tree
I think many hardcore F2P feel this way, but just remember that 95% of F2P players (probably more) don't chain barbs in ROK. Most don't even look up guides on UA-cam hahaha
Pay 2 win games always die and they always make a new game to split the player base and kill the old. Don't waste your money spending hundreds when the guy spending thousand did 1/10 the effort as you and beat you. You will regret the money you wasted once it dies as P2W always do and don't waste time trying to be F2P when somebody with 1/1000 the time/effort as you can beat you with money.
3:50 "As far as the open world goes, it is absolutely gorgeous: The trees are 3d, they blow in the wind, they cast shadow..." Yep, when thinking of how good an open world game goes, those are pretty much the first things that comes to mind. What would be of open world games without trees blowing in the wind.
As a full F2P that played on a top clan/alliance the game isnt for us. I did min max everything I could, we did the bosses took the pass first, I did every event I could. I even got the luck that they deleted the atk / def bonus buff and they retrieve gems for each item (So we did a lot of merit trade to get them). We got a good alliance with other top clans so I could grow super calmy. AND EVEN WITH ALL OF THIS the gems you get just doesnt match your needs. Or you go double tech and 0 spins/ legendary hero for wars until season 2 (WHICH SUCKS BIG ASS) or you go big dick and pick a good wheel hero with no tech vip so you get even more behind. And im not even talking about artifacts. The game is just not F2P low spender friendly. So for me its a NO GO, because I WILL change of game. The KvK system of this game isnt good for me either. Now this doesnt make the game bad. Its the best Kingdom Builder right now because of innovation, and not for the Hero concepts, the "kvk" or being F2P friendly. This game just give this game genre amazing ideas 1: Active skills where you toggle and aim 2: Behemoths 3. Ranged combat: Even if I dont agreed with some balance stuff like the archer being the counter to mage and mage just kill of the archer with the longer range. Having range combat is a nice upgrade. 4. Race/type special troops and bonus (and we could say balanced... meh) 5.- And the best of all the innovation this game did for me its the roads. OMG I love roads. How much better would be Rise of Kingdoms with roads? A lot. 6.- The graphics are a nice upgrade for the genre, fights feels fluid, unbalanced but fluid. The big boss : "FREE HOSPITAL" this is one of the biggest step this game genre needs to do. Free Hospital its a need for our fun Imo: Call of Dragons its a game I will not play again for balance reasons. But I will be grateful for what they did to this genre.
Not gonna lie.. CoD seems to have found a decent balance between whale and F2P playerbase.. The game also seems fun and playable even if you're F2P.. the big issue here is to get a good guild.. So far Guilds break or make the game. I hope it stays this way or would even get even a slightly tick better for F2P..
What will kill RoK is the developers adding so much bs and no changing anything events are the same everything getting harder if you don’t spend honestly I’m thinking about quitting soon no having much fun with RoK
Why they making a city builder sim with wars have a huge story anyway, we play RPG's for that where choices matter like Mass effect or Kotor or even Zelda or final fantasies (Choices not mattering in those last two) sounds weird that they injected so much into this. Just from the traveling system we see in RoK, does anyone ever actually read any of that? I can't skip fast enough. And for awhile we didn't have a skip button so i'd just slam my screen till its over.
Idk if its cause im used to ROK, but im not a fan of the graphics of COD. There's too much going on with the roads and the tree shadows. And there's like 3 types of creatures roaming around instead of straight up barbarians lol
I have a feeling RoK players won't leave for a better game due to sunk cost fallacy. They played too much, spent too much money, and switching game would just means it was all for nothing.
I wanted to like this game so much. I just can’t stand having to level up my hero’s again. I’ll go back to RoK. Was really impressed with this game though but I don’t want to do things I’ve already done before. Might as well start a new game. I had liked the idea of the next server having experienced players who understand the game. . . . I just wanted to keep all my trash I grinded for.
I got to like 3 million power in KD30 the. Quit before season 2 because most of my time was KvK in RoK lol it's not good to play at the same time it get repetitive
If everyone quit Rise of Kingdoms because of Crystal tech, they will not add it to COD again. If Crystal tech continue to do well in ROK, they will eventually add it.
one thing to note is that RoK is stable, so i just think its ppl cosntantly looking up the variety of artifacts and heroes, meanwhile call of dragons atm very limited pool so not much to search
It would be nice if they made a couple of servers with no in game purchases. The game is cool and I enjoy playing but there are already people in our server that are 30m+ power. We haven’t even unlocked t2 passes.
The stoey was actually so good. A lottle flat in The end but overall very good and i was ao happy it was lal voiced over. I just hope they added more strategy wih more troop types..... Something to make it like you have a choice on what you train and what you use vs just spam training the same ttoops with no choice ..
I still play rise of kingdom got like 5 servers in rise of kingdom but a lot of server's in call of dragons which is definitely one of the best games on the planet hope we get new factions like in Warhammer or like in Warhammer troy
CoD is fun but the devs and "staff" don't GAF. I've reported TOS abuse over and over and they choose to just ignore. I get it - they have a bottom line which isn't the players. Which I know you readers don;t care about unless\until you've become the victim of it. I'm definitely recommending staying free to play and not spending money on this gameif you want to stay happy and see value
First, saying that the leveling system is more or less the same as in RoK is an overestatement, kind of find it hard to believe that you didnt mention that the skill lock feature in RoK, which btw is very bad, is not even implemented in Call of Dragons. Second, just as there is no that many events yet, they sure will come, but along with more systema thrust me, its the same company. In the future the game will get to have its own version of thr Armaments that we all love. Third, just the fact that they have the audacity to put a cap on how many gems you can farm daily is a slap to the face, for how grindy it is, they should not put that, everyone that wants to go through the pain of sitting and farming for hours should be let to do so. Anyone considering playing that game should consider playing something else, or at the very least, not give them a single cent.
Alistair's eyepatch, btw, is because he is a blatant rip-off of the Hound from GoT. Same backstory, similar attitude. I picked that up when skimming the 9,999,999,999 dialogues.
its fluid and graphics are better because RoK is 4 years old....and half of these implementations were things requested of ROK. when i die in ROK im dead in p2w phone games...which is basically all phone games..... i miss subscription based gaming...now subscriptions are just a portion of these games still...30d gems supplies...blah blah blah
You cant, ultimately it will gradually become more p2w. It seams to be treading the path that RoK once followed. Hence many are quitting but still you can enjoy for ig a year or two
This game sucks.Reseting everything and start from scratch, lvl heroes and artifacts from 0, not gaining CP from nowhere to help lvl commanders, only buying with money, farming gems is a nightmare. the events are a bad joke...The merits is encourajing easy kills, aka farm killing...Don't recomand playing this game.
Agree about the aesthetic of the heroes in CoD - they are ugly. RoK is more cohesive in that sense. Story elements, map, and some gameplay systems are better in CoD, but not enough to make me jump ship beyond my time checking out season 1. Equipment and armaments in RoK are better long-term.

The story and dialogue it’s brutal. Yes. But I always hit auto and play RoK while it play in the background. Sometimes multitasking it’s easy.
Completely agree with your views on the character designs. I wish fairview and lilith would update the character designs to look more mature.

Ok let's be honest, they've blocked the only 2 ways an active f2p could compete in RoK, which are farming gems and chaining barbs! So no, ty but no! 😅

kind sir: when you cannot barb non-stop, you don't have a good game. You cannot none stop barb in cod. therefore it is not good.
I think many hardcore F2P feel this way, but just remember that 95% of F2P players (probably more) don't chain barbs in ROK. Most don't even look up guides on UA-cam hahaha

Pay 2 win games always die and they always make a new game to split the player base and kill the old. Don't waste your money spending hundreds when the guy spending thousand did 1/10 the effort as you and beat you. You will regret the money you wasted once it dies as P2W always do and don't waste time trying to be F2P when somebody with 1/1000 the time/effort as you can beat you with money.

Yep, when thinking of how good an open world game goes, those are pretty much the first things that comes to mind. What would be of open world games without trees blowing in the wind.
Compare that to the game that most people were coming from at the time (Rise of Kingdoms) it is a massive upgrade.

As a full F2P that played on a top clan/alliance the game isnt for us. I did min max everything I could, we did the bosses took the pass first, I did every event I could. I even got the luck that they deleted the atk / def bonus buff and they retrieve gems for each item (So we did a lot of merit trade to get them). We got a good alliance with other top clans so I could grow super calmy. AND EVEN WITH ALL OF THIS the gems you get just doesnt match your needs. Or you go double tech and 0 spins/ legendary hero for wars until season 2 (WHICH SUCKS BIG ASS) or you go big dick and pick a good wheel hero with no tech vip so you get even more behind. And im not even talking about artifacts. The game is just not F2P low spender friendly.
So for me its a NO GO, because I WILL change of game. The KvK system of this game isnt good for me either.
Now this doesnt make the game bad. Its the best Kingdom Builder right now because of innovation, and not for the Hero concepts, the "kvk" or being F2P friendly.
This game just give this game genre amazing ideas
1: Active skills where you toggle and aim
2: Behemoths
3. Ranged combat: Even if I dont agreed with some balance stuff like the archer being the counter to mage and mage just kill of the archer with the longer range. Having range combat is a nice upgrade.
4. Race/type special troops and bonus (and we could say balanced... meh)
5.- And the best of all the innovation this game did for me its the roads. OMG I love roads. How much better would be Rise of Kingdoms with roads? A lot.
6.- The graphics are a nice upgrade for the genre, fights feels fluid, unbalanced but fluid.
The big boss : "FREE HOSPITAL" this is one of the biggest step this game genre needs to do. Free Hospital its a need for our fun
Imo: Call of Dragons its a game I will not play again for balance reasons. But I will be grateful for what they did to this genre.

Not gonna lie.. CoD seems to have found a decent balance between whale and F2P playerbase.. The game also seems fun and playable even if you're F2P.. the big issue here is to get a good guild.. So far Guilds break or make the game. I hope it stays this way or would even get even a slightly tick better for F2P..

Why they making a city builder sim with wars have a huge story anyway, we play RPG's for that where choices matter like Mass effect or Kotor or even Zelda or final fantasies (Choices not mattering in those last two) sounds weird that they injected so much into this. Just from the traveling system we see in RoK, does anyone ever actually read any of that? I can't skip fast enough. And for awhile we didn't have a skip button so i'd just slam my screen till its over.

Idk if its cause im used to ROK, but im not a fan of the graphics of COD. There's too much going on with the roads and the tree shadows. And there's like 3 types of creatures roaming around instead of straight up barbarians lol

I’ve stopped playing! Almost 4 years playing ROK! I just don’t have it in me to commit to call of dragons.
I have a feeling RoK players won't leave for a better game due to sunk cost fallacy. They played too much, spent too much money, and switching game would just means it was all for nothing.
I wanted to like this game so much. I just can’t stand having to level up my hero’s again. I’ll go back to RoK. Was really impressed with this game though but I don’t want to do things I’ve already done before. Might as well start a new game. I had liked the idea of the next server having experienced players who understand the game. . . . I just wanted to keep all my trash I grinded for.
I got to like 3 million power in KD30 the. Quit before season 2 because most of my time was KvK in RoK lol it's not good to play at the same time it get repetitive

If everyone quit Rise of Kingdoms because of Crystal tech, they will not add it to COD again. If Crystal tech continue to do well in ROK, they will eventually add it.
one thing to note is that RoK is stable, so i just think its ppl cosntantly looking up the variety of artifacts and heroes, meanwhile call of dragons atm very limited pool so not much to search

The game is cool and I enjoy playing but there are already people in our server that are 30m+ power. We haven’t even unlocked t2 passes.
The stoey was actually so good. A lottle flat in The end but overall very good and i was ao happy it was lal voiced over. I just hope they added more strategy wih more troop types..... Something to make it like you have a choice on what you train and what you use vs just spam training the same ttoops with no choice

I still play rise of kingdom got like 5 servers in rise of kingdom but a lot of server's in call of dragons which is definitely one of the best games on the planet hope we get new factions like in Warhammer or like in Warhammer troy

CoD is fun but the devs and "staff" don't GAF. I've reported TOS abuse over and over and they choose to just ignore. I get it - they have a bottom line which isn't the players. Which I know you readers don;t care about unless\until you've become the victim of it. I'm definitely recommending staying free to play and not spending money on this gameif you want to stay happy and see value

First, saying that the leveling system is more or less the same as in RoK is an overestatement, kind of find it hard to believe that you didnt mention that the skill lock feature in RoK, which btw is very bad, is not even implemented in Call of Dragons.
Second, just as there is no that many events yet, they sure will come, but along with more systema thrust me, its the same company. In the future the game will get to have its own version of thr Armaments that we all love.
Third, just the fact that they have the audacity to put a cap on how many gems you can farm daily is a slap to the face, for how grindy it is, they should not put that, everyone that wants to go through the pain of sitting and farming for hours should be let to do so.
Anyone considering playing that game should consider playing something else, or at the very least, not give them a single cent.
Puls vikingrise is also a good game to play as well

You cant, ultimately it will gradually become more p2w. It seams to be treading the path that RoK once followed. Hence many are quitting but still you can enjoy for ig a year or two

This game sucks.Reseting everything and start from scratch, lvl heroes and artifacts from 0, not gaining CP from nowhere to help lvl commanders, only buying with money, farming gems is a nightmare. the events are a bad joke...The merits is encourajing easy kills, aka farm killing...Don't recomand playing this game.

Agree about the aesthetic of the heroes in CoD - they are ugly. RoK is more cohesive in that sense. Story elements, map, and some gameplay systems are better in CoD, but not enough to make me jump ship beyond my time checking out season 1. Equipment and armaments in RoK are better long-term.

The character I showed from WoW is 15-20 years old. Mobile games these days look MUCH better than WoW and yet CoD's character design disappoints me.
