If the hero has a "useless" 2nd skill then just unlock everything after maxing the active skill.. like what I did with gwanwyn.. her 2nd is for peacekeeping only, so if I only unlocked 3 skills, the chance will be 50%.. but unlocking the 4th skill lowers the chance of getting the peacekeeping skill down to 33.33%.. that goes for someone like Nico too.. after maxing the active skill, better unlock all skills because his 2nd skill is for engineering only..
Yep. But if you do it on epick heroes, that's not a big problem because you can max it like in months. The problem is you do it on the Legendary heroes, hard to repair it

I just started playing but I used to play hero wars and evony. I hope instead of creating another stronger version of heroes, I prefer the developers to be making heroes that can break/counter meta while being an ordinary hero on its own. This makes more comps to be applicable and fun. As far as saving tokens, I would like to disagree, the sole reason being passion doesn't last forever. If you save a thousand tokens waiting for the next stronger hero, the day will never come for you to use it because there is never gonna be a "strongest" hero that's worth spending on. So you save and stay weaker, doesn't achieve anything, passion died off, and you left the game then all the tokens wasted. Lastly, f2p players has the least commitment level since they don't lose anything, saving tokens just make the passion die out faster.
I have avoided watching any call of dragon videos from you, chisgule and others because it has been obvious that Lilith has made a huge push to get content on this game out there. I have never considered playing the game and I wonder how many of you would if you weren’t being paid to put this stuff out there. All of that said, I clicked on this video because of you. Was thinking of using universals on Bakshi but his 5th (awakened) skill is worse than Emrys.. Ofc after maxing Emrys I'm going with Kinnara, Now that's on progress, still working on getting full legion of T4 archers.. might take a while... Gemmed the cavs and mages... It's time to be patient :)

mmmm I have been playing for over 2 years, and I am not FTP, but low spender in ROK and I still have not fully unlocked Charles Martel. So personally, conceptually I agree, investing gold Crystals in Gold Key commanders in COD may seem a bad idea, but I do not want to unlock Velyn and Teia for over 2 years. As far as too much war right now, I 1000% agree as EVERYTHING right now should be focused on lvl 25 townhall (main building) and reach end of economy tree.

I did this fault in Nico, got Engineering to 5 but all other to 1, but then i retrained him and got exactly what i wanted, so it is not really that game breaking that people want it to be
New heroes also just stand on their own as well since it's a new hero people are going to want. But yeah likely they will be released stronger than the rest to appeal to people.

I get it you are right BUT its crucial to participate in my alliance in war... if I dont go to war I will get kicked meaning I loose like 40 GOld chests a day and hundres others that means I would progress even slower :p and I think the Chests outset for all this.

34 days into the game and never spent a single legendary token, if I've learnt something from playing rise of kingdoms is that you'll eventually get those legendary tokens from the golden chest so the best investment are ALWAYS heroes that comes from wheel or MGE
New server started like a day ago didnt manage to get in any of the guilds I would have liked so far. I have 100% scouted my starting zone. Should I teleport to another zone to get freebies from the discovering things or just try to find a guild on the area where I started.
also having first skill on lvl 2-3 and 2 passive skills even at lvl 1 on legendary, is better then not upgrading stars, i could never max rage skill cuz i dont have the money or tokens but i prefer having 2 passive skills for overall strenght

Hmm depends on what you're doing I suppose. Magic Bomb is solid for PvP and Enchiridion of Advanced Incantations is great for PvE :) Obviously, Phoenix Eye is very good but it's legendary
Powercreep doesnt exist in every single game. Guildwars 2 for example is famous for its horizontal progression where your years old gear will still power through the new content.
I don't really agree with everything you say. It is a long term game yes, but you need to use what you have at that point in time. Unless you have 25,000.00 to spend right off the bat on the game and upgrade everything and buy everything there is to buy, you should always use whatever heroes you currently have and dont wait. What's the point of waiting for 6 months after 2 seasons holding on to those tokens where you can upgrade your hero that you have while you could possibly win a war with those upgrades? maybe doesn't make much difference if it's 1 person, but if everyone thinks like you do, all 120 players holding off upgrading their heroes make a huge difference, while the enemy wiping your alliance out, just make no sense. Choose your heroes, upgrade them and use them to fight, not keep your tokens for something that might come along in season 2 or season 3. Another scenario is say, magic units are mainly use for PVP in the open field, you waited 3 months 6 months and then a hero comes along but it's a cavalry or say a gathering hero, so you continue to wait for a good hero to come while your power stays stagnant. you might power up yes, but heroes and troops are the most important part in CoD, you need them to do well in behemoths, PvP etc but your heroes never upgraded because you holding on. Improve what heroes you have make good use of the now while waiting for something better to come. It's worthless if you are weak and stay weak while everyone is more powerful and better at doing behemoths and fighting pvp.
Yeah I mean everyone has their own opinions and play style. If you prefer to fight early game and don't mind the consequences, by all means, enjoy the game! That's what games are for :) However I will say, your strategy described above is a known recipe for disaster in games like Rise of Kingdoms, which comes from virtually the same developers. For example, investing in Cao Cao or Genghis Khan only to realize during the next commander release that they are so comparably bad that you'll actually never consider using them in war after that point. Wasted investments usually decrease player satisfaction, so I'm simply trying to warn players of that inevitability if you invest too aggressively in the early game.
@@OmniarchOfficial You are describing RoK. But you are giving tips on CoD. Many videos are out there, Nico, Madeline, Liliya, Velyn, Kinnara, even Waldyr and Gwanwyn are great heroes. Hosk are so OP they have to nerf it. You can't go wrong with any of these heroes if you plan to upgrade the ones I mentioned. The current meta for PVP is still magic heroes then archers, some like to use flying units. You can't assume heroes in CoD are bad because you played RoK. They are very different. If you want to give good advice, why not give some tips on which hero to invest? Furthermore, I'm not saying fight early on. Build your troops, build your power up. That includes investing into heroes to make them stronger. I agree with leveling up 1st skill up to 5 as that is most important, then star up and skill up. You may not want war, but you can't stop war coming to you every time. Telling people to save up on universal tokens is just bad advice. Save up 6 months? Use it on hard to get heroes? is also another bad advice. I would have awakened my Velyn and every time if you were to meet me in the battlefield, none of your heroes can win against my awakened Velyn. By the time you think you have saved up enough tokens for a powerful season 3-4 heroes, I would have more than 2 awaken heroes fighting on the battlefield. Why do you think Krakens and whales spend their money? Because they power up faster than everyone else's. Same concept, you would want to power up as quickly as possible before pass1 opens or 2 or 3, before behemoths etc etc. time is of essence. If you wait, holding on to the tokens, you are not putting it to good use. There are many good heroes out there. So choose a hero and use it. I'm now in season 2. We are in a race to power up, take behemoths. alliance need RSS. alliance need to build more towers take behemoths to grow. If you holding on to those tokens, active alliance will probably kick you coz your heroes are probably 5000 or worse. you can't do behemoths, you cant pvp for pass, coz you are waiting. Alliance will probably tell you okay come back in season 6 if you ever power up. I'm speaking from real experience. not some made up fantasy.

Like yeah you can sit on 100 tokens and get dunked on in the open field, or you can use your tokens and be powerful now. Not participating in war before you reach LVL25 is not possible if you want to be a member of an active alliance and take advantage of all this has to offer,good and big alliances keep track of activity and participation and if you dont you get kicked out and lose all the chests and the benefits you get from being a member of a big alliance so thats not very good advice.....
As a F2P you should get a Primary March made out of Epics and a 2nd march with a Legendary hero and Invest a few hero tokens into legendary. NOTEDon't forget that the S1 tokens expire so choose your Legendary hero preferably not Cavalery.
You can still use S1 tokens in season 2. It only means S1 tokens can only be applied to Season 1 heroes, it doesn;t mean you cannot use those tokens in season 2 or season 3. tokens will NOT be scrap when season ends. Man you guys need more information before commenting and not spread false info.
something else abot Skills. Another reason to hold off on STAR promotion; getting the PASSIVE to Rank 5 as well. ForbGWANWYN her pssive is an increase in PEACEKEEP damage. At rank 4 this is 15% bonus. Just a thought as a F2P; for the 'long game' plan and not instant gratification.

Powercreep doesnt exist in every single game. Guildwars 2 for example is famous for its horizontal progression where your years old gear will still power through the new content.

I don't really agree with everything you say. It is a long term game yes, but you need to use what you have at that point in time. Unless you have 25,000.00 to spend right off the bat on the game and upgrade everything and buy everything there is to buy, you should always use whatever heroes you currently have and dont wait.
What's the point of waiting for 6 months after 2 seasons holding on to those tokens where you can upgrade your hero that you have while you could possibly win a war with those upgrades? maybe doesn't make much difference if it's 1 person, but if everyone thinks like you do, all 120 players holding off upgrading their heroes make a huge difference, while the enemy wiping your alliance out, just make no sense.
Choose your heroes, upgrade them and use them to fight, not keep your tokens for something that might come along in season 2 or season 3. Another scenario is say, magic units are mainly use for PVP in the open field, you waited 3 months 6 months and then a hero comes along but it's a cavalry or say a gathering hero, so you continue to wait for a good hero to come while your power stays stagnant. you might power up yes, but heroes and troops are the most important part in CoD, you need them to do well in behemoths, PvP etc but your heroes never upgraded because you holding on.
Improve what heroes you have make good use of the now while waiting for something better to come. It's worthless if you are weak and stay weak while everyone is more powerful and better at doing behemoths and fighting pvp.
Yeah I mean everyone has their own opinions and play style. If you prefer to fight early game and don't mind the consequences, by all means, enjoy the game! That's what games are for :) However I will say, your strategy described above is a known recipe for disaster in games like Rise of Kingdoms, which comes from virtually the same developers. For example, investing in Cao Cao or Genghis Khan only to realize during the next commander release that they are so comparably bad that you'll actually never consider using them in war after that point. Wasted investments usually decrease player satisfaction, so I'm simply trying to warn players of that inevitability if you invest too aggressively in the early game.
@@OmniarchOfficial You are describing RoK. But you are giving tips on CoD. Many videos are out there, Nico, Madeline, Liliya, Velyn, Kinnara, even Waldyr and Gwanwyn are great heroes. Hosk are so OP they have to nerf it. You can't go wrong with any of these heroes if you plan to upgrade the ones I mentioned. The current meta for PVP is still magic heroes then archers, some like to use flying units.
You can't assume heroes in CoD are bad because you played RoK. They are very different. If you want to give good advice, why not give some tips on which hero to invest?
Furthermore, I'm not saying fight early on. Build your troops, build your power up. That includes investing into heroes to make them stronger. I agree with leveling up 1st skill up to 5 as that is most important, then star up and skill up.
You may not want war, but you can't stop war coming to you every time.
Telling people to save up on universal tokens is just bad advice. Save up 6 months? Use it on hard to get heroes? is also another bad advice. I would have awakened my Velyn and every time if you were to meet me in the battlefield, none of your heroes can win against my awakened Velyn. By the time you think you have saved up enough tokens for a powerful season 3-4 heroes, I would have more than 2 awaken heroes fighting on the battlefield.
Why do you think Krakens and whales spend their money? Because they power up faster than everyone else's. Same concept, you would want to power up as quickly as possible before pass1 opens or 2 or 3, before behemoths etc etc. time is of essence. If you wait, holding on to the tokens, you are not putting it to good use. There are many good heroes out there. So choose a hero and use it. I'm now in season 2. We are in a race to power up, take behemoths. alliance need RSS. alliance need to build more towers take behemoths to grow. If you holding on to those tokens, active alliance will probably kick you coz your heroes are probably 5000 or worse. you can't do behemoths, you cant pvp for pass, coz you are waiting. Alliance will probably tell you okay come back in season 6 if you ever power up. I'm speaking from real experience. not some made up fantasy.

Save up for the hero you plan to awaken are all good advice. But save up tokens because in RoK there are terrible heroes, so you may have bad heroes in CoD tells me you haven't really done any homework in CoD.

i hate when youtubers call things a massive mistake when people want to play the game for fun now rather than invest in their account 2 years later. Like yeah you can sit on 100 tokens and get dunked on in the open field, or you can use your tokens and be powerful now. I'd rather enjoy the time now because i doubt i'll still be playing in a year or 2

Not participating in war before you reach LVL25 is not possible if you want to be a member of an active alliance and take advantage of all this has to offer,good and big alliances keep track of activity and participation and if you dont you get kicked out and lose all the chests and the benefits you get from being a member of a big alliance so thats not very good advice.....

As a F2P you should get a Primary March made out of Epics and a 2nd march with a Legendary hero and Invest a few hero tokens into legendary.
NOTEDon't forget that the S1 tokens expire so choose your Legendary hero preferably not Cavalery.
You can still use S1 tokens in season 2. It only means S1 tokens can only be applied to Season 1 heroes, it doesn;t mean you cannot use those tokens in season 2 or season 3. tokens will NOT be scrap when season ends. Man you guys need more information before commenting and not spread false info.
So don’t use your hero tokens until the very last season.

something else abot Skills. Another reason to hold off on STAR promotion; getting the PASSIVE to Rank 5 as well. ForbGWANWYN her pssive is an increase in PEACEKEEP damage. At rank 4 this is 15% bonus. Just a thought as a F2P; for the 'long game' plan and not instant gratification.
