    i have the same setup, except an ASUS mobo. in the System Agent CPU settings, do you recommend manually setting m.2 and PCIEx15(g5) link speeds to Gen4 for ssd and Gen5 for GPU? to force the GPU to be run off the CPU's PCIE 5.0 x 16 slot? ive always been confused about this . i feel like Auto would use the chipset lanes

    • @tweakmixbuilds
      @tweakmixbuilds  8 місяців тому

      You may change it to what Gen your M.2 SSD or GPU specifies. But you may also leave it on Auto. No performance issue either way. The lesser your auto settings are, the faster you BIOS will load. But if you are unsure, leave it on auto.

      Hi there! Update your BIOS to Version 2703. Then in BIOS, go to "Specific Performance Core". You can change your offset value from there. Save and reset. With your Intel OC Tool not installing - install Intel XTU instead. When prompted, choose "Install Anyway".

    • @tweakmixbuilds
      @tweakmixbuilds  7 місяців тому

      Yes. You should! To maximize your rig's potential. I have another gaming PC that is very similar to yours. Refer to my UA-cam video link: ua-cam.com/video/3HGooHfRT3M/v-deo.htmlsi=PBXU_1TLr6cDm-DH. I did a stability test after BIOS setting. First you need to update your BIOS ( rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-z590-f-gaming-wifi-model/helpdesk_bios/ ) if you haven't yet. Just make sure that you have a good cooler. Your ROG-Z590 mobo should show you a cooler rating high enough good enough to overclock your cpu. You need a good cooling system as well. As the 11700k is quite hot in the temp department. Have fun!

      I do this overclock?

    • @tweakmixbuilds
      @tweakmixbuilds  4 місяці тому

      @@snowzerazk My suggestion is, Yes! So that you an maximize your cost to performance experience. But do take note that before overclocking, please make sure you have considered all these in your rig: good airflow (intake and exhaust), good cpu cooling (AIO, custom water cooling or rated air cooler) and good rated power supply [PSU] (for you to have ample power based on total wattage of CPU, GPU and your entire system. a bronze rating is already goo. But Gold is definitely better). For stable power CPU power, please make sure to plug all motherboard ATX CPU power cords (usually located at the upper left of the motherboard near the heat spreaders) supplied by your PSU. Have fun and enjoy!

      @@whitebeltbjj3739 , hi there! There are several ways to do it. You might want to try this one first: Download (from Intel website) and install Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU). Go to "Advance Tuning" tab. Look for "Turbo Boost Max" and "Turbo Boost Short Power Max" settings. Set those to your desired wattage limit (like 220W). Then apply settings. And use your computer with that setting. Make sure to monitor temperatures and test stability (you can use Cinebench, AIDA64, Prime95, etc.). Let me know! Thanks. @tweakmixbuilds  4 місяці тому

      hi @haithamyaldoqu3722 Valorant is a CPU bound game. If your CPU overheats while gaming, try to check the following. Any of these might help you resolve your overheating CPU:
      1. Try checking your AIO or CPU air cooler's functionality, if everything is good. Clean if needed. Check your CPU cooler fans for any abnormal/unusual sound squeaking, might need replacement.
      2. Check you AIO or CPU air cooler's fan curve. You might need to adjust to a more aggressive curve, like 100% (fan speed) on 75 or 80C CPU temperature.
      3. Clean and replace CPU thermal paste, then re-seat your AIO or CPU air cooler.
      Let me know.

      Make sure that your BIOS has the most recent update. Go to your BIOS setting. Set to "optimal settings". Set your RAM to XMP1. And "Disable" (if you are not planning to overclock your cpu) Asus Multicore Enhancement. Save BIOS and restart your PC. Check again if your CPU can already reach up to 4.9mhz or higher by using any of your CPU benchmarking software you have.

    Im having troube with my asus B760m plus wifi 2. Intel i714700k, 240 corsair cooler. My intel tuning software has my ratios and core voltages greyed out. When put through any streas test, it thermal throttles and hits 100% or close to it. If i start tweaking it, it seems like it starts to bottleneck the e cores at 75%, and my cinebench comes in very low. Any recommendations for this setup? The bios are identical

    • @tweakmixbuilds
      @tweakmixbuilds  Місяць тому

      Please upgrade to BIOS Version 1658. Then try the "Optimal" BIOS settings first. Then use the benchmark results as your baseline. Then try your settings afterwards. Then compare results from the optimal settings baseline results. The adjust as needed - to your preference and stable system.

    • @tweakmixbuilds
      @tweakmixbuilds  21 день тому

      And also I think the B760 chipset does not support overclocking. That's why your Intel tuning software features are greyed-out. You need a motherboard with a "Z" prefix on the chipset. Like Z790...

      @@spirit7792 what is your cpu and memory modules speed (mhz) and class latency? Make sure your BIOS is updated to the correct motherboard model. You can get it from ASUS TUF website in the support section of your motherboard model. Try to "Load Optimized Defaults" found in your "Exit" BIOS tab. Then enable your XMP1. Do not disable your turbo boost. I do not advise that for gaming purposes. Because your cpu will then just default to the maximum speed of your lowest core. It will mostly keep it to base speed. Hello.
    Im new in overlock.
    And usually i use Auto Oc, fortunately Asus Motherboard have auto Oc1 And Oc2 profile.
    Sow with Oc2 i have something 4.9 ghz.
    But then i go to Au tweaker /thermal velocity boost.
    And i find option
    Enhanced tvb or Overlocking tvb and there are 1+boost profile and 2+ boost.
    Sow i try and he just up my Overclock speed. My cpu now on 5.0 ghz. With that option.
    Can you please tell me what that option do and itsnok if i use it after auto oc2?

    • @tweakmixbuilds
      @tweakmixbuilds  9 місяців тому +1

      Hi! The TVB boost profile will just add voltage to your CPU and eventually heat it up some more with just a little gain. I suggest, if you're new to overclocking, first you have to figure out first why you will do overclocking. Or if there is a need for you to do so. Now if you have figured-out what you would want to achieve in overclocking, I would suggest for you to research more on undervolting your cpu instead. For OC1 and OC2 tuning profiles, I suggest you use OC1 if you are using an air cooler. And OC2 if you're using an AIO/watercooling. Conduct benchmarks with available softwares online like Cinebench, Prime95, etc. Record and compare results while you change settings. So you would know your best and stable settings that suits your computing or gaming requirement. Keep safe and have fun!

      Anyway, the temperature in the game was 60°c
      But yeah, i read that Auto oc set really high voltage, and it's not good.
      Hmm oc i do just wanna test my new cpu what can do and how many fps can give me when i play.
      Sometime i use cpu to decritp some hashes and i see that when i oc on my speed of decript its more fast.
      Sow yeah i just wanna a stable Oc. For everyday.
      I have air coller but i have a really open and big case, and i have 8 collers 😀 in my case. 4 on the left 2 on top ontaher 1 on back and 1 big in the front.
      Sow yeah. And obviosly 2 coller on my air coller :)
      Temperature its awsome and o have Protection for the socket you know for 12 /13 gen that give me too -°C on cpu.

      Since I cannot see your BIOS from here. And it depends system per system, for safety reasons of your PC investment, I suggest forn you to try downloading Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel XTU) tool directly from Intel. Just choose the correct operating system when download it. Install it and go to the undervolt section of the tool. Gradually lower down voltage. And perform the stability tests provided in the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel XTU) tool itself. Check and monitor your system stats (like temp and frequency) choose the most stable undervolt setting best for your cpu cooler as well. When you reach your desired setting, save it and reboot your system. You should be good by then. For best CPU temps even without undervolting... you can try some of the best AIOs or air coolers in your country/area. In my experience, 12700k are pretty much the best i7 perfomers at an easy to manage cooling and cpu cooler fan curve settings. In my 12700k setup, I use a dual air-cooler tower Noctua NH-D15. At an ambient of 24C in the room, I can get 35C low - 75C highest from idle to playing triple-A games.
